If you know how to enable cross-platform Fortnite matches then you open up another avenue for meeting with buddies in the game, so you can gather on the battle royale island regardless of what devices everyone is using. It’s completely up to you how you want to spend your time together, so you can take it easy and explore while catching up with each other, or aim to complete your squad goals by fighting towards a team Victory Royale. The last couple of years have been difficult for all of us, and meeting in person still isn’t suitable or even possible for all, so by using cross play you have extra method to join your friends remotely and chat while playing the game.

If you’re ready to form a team with your buddies then it’s absolutely worth making the effort to play together over multiple formats because once you enable cross-platform Fortnite matches you can compete with anyone, no matter whether they’re using PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch, or even mobile (where available) to leap from the battle bus and glide into the action. Doing this also means that any progress you make on your Fortnite account carries over to every platform, which means you can always access your season level, Battle Pass, and locker items regardless of however and wherever you play. How to enable cross-platform Fortnite matches
The first thing to note when considering how to enable cross platform Fortnite matches is that you can only play with people that you’re friends with on your Epic account. This is different to your PlayStation Network or Xbox Live friends list, so if you play on console make sure you head to EpicGames.
com and make an account. If you play on PC or mobile, you’ll already have one of these.
This means that you can’t just hop into a mobile lobby as a PC player and destroy all of the opposition — it simply wouldn’t be fair due to the increased resolution, better controls, etc. The player in your party at the top of the platform hierarchy is the lobby you’ll matchmake into. For example if there’s a mobile player, a PS4 player and a PC player in the same squad, you’ll all be playing against PC players.

Next, you need to become friends with anyone you want to play cross platform Fortnite with via your Epic account. You can either do this through the ‘add friends’ option on the social menu if you know your friend’s display name, or on a PC or Mac by downloading the Epic Launcher , opening it and logging into your account. Next click the silhouette in the top right and enter your friend’s Epic email address or username and hit OK. Repeat this process until you’ve invited all your friends.
Once they accept your friend request, you can return to your system of choice. Now when you open the Friends tab in the social menu you’ll be able to see all of your friends, highlight the name and select ‘join party’ to enter their lobby or ‘invite to party’ to request they join you.

If you’re having any issues with party chat across devices, then make sure you’re not in any other party chats on your system, and that your voice chat is set to party channel in the social menu. Fortnite cross platform guide: Playing across platforms
With over 350 million players worldwide, Epic Games’ free-to-play battle royale game Fortnite has morphed into a mainstream phenomenon. You can now find it on nearly every platform, including PC, Mac, consoles, and even mobile devices. But is Fortnite cross-platform compatible?
The answer is that yes it is (for the most part).
In fact, part of the game’s success is due to Epic allowing players to compete with their friends across most platforms that support Fortnite.

In this guide, we will tell you how to enable Fortnite cross-platform play so you can battle, or just hang out with friends — whether they are on a PC, console, or mobile device.
Sign up for an Epic Games account

The one thing Fortnite cross-platform players need to get started is a free Epic Games account. You can do that inside the game itself, or via Epic’s website. You can create a new account with just a simple email address or you can use your signup information from your Facebook, Google, Steam, or Apple accounts. You can also create an Epic account with your Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, or Nintendo account info.
Your new Epic account will keep track of your account progression, along with any in-game purchases you’ve made, so that if you switch from, say, your Android phone to an Xbox One, your progress and items will still be available.
If you want to play online with others across different Fortnite platforms, you will need to link your platform to your Epic Games account. Players on Android and Windows have to make that link to play anyway. PlayStation and Xbox console players can link to their Epic account on the game’s official website. Nintendo Switch players are asked to link to their Epic account when they start their game.
Android Fortnite gamers can also sign up for an Epic Games account inside the game itself. You can create a standard email account, or use your Facebook, Google, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, or Nintendo Network account to sign in.
Adding your Fortnite online friends across platforms
Getting together with your friends online in Fortnite is actually pretty easy. On console and Android, you can add friends with an Epic Games account directly through the game via the main menu. PC gamers can do the same via the Epic Games Launcher. There’s also the option of using the game’s Party Finder feature to search for any of your Epic Games account friends across platforms if they happen to be online.
The game also has a Squad Fill feature that lets you auto-fill a party with random users not on your friends list. However, you have to be in a cross-platform party to play against players on other platforms.
Fortnite cross-platform compatibility
Here’s the most important part of the Fortnite cross-platform feature. If you want to play Fortnite with the most online friends across most platforms, your best bet is to play on Windows, Android, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 and 5 versions of the game. Those players can battle with any other player on those platforms.
Also, Android players can only play against PC, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox One players if those players join a crossplay party. If that’s the case, then they will be placed in crossplay matchmaking queues.
iOS and Mac Fortnite cross-platform issues: Apple versus Epic
In August 2020, Epic Games launched its own in-app store payment system in Fortnite.
This went against the app store policies of Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS systems. Both companies removed the game from the Google Play Store and iOS App Store, respectively. While Android device owners can still install and update Fortnite without Google Play, that’s impossible for iOS game fans. As a result, Fortnite cross-platform play for both iOS and Mac versions has been disabled from all other platforms. iOS and Mac players (the ones with the game still installed) can still go online and play the game, but just with each other. Also, Apple gamers cannot update their Fortnite apps to the current version that’s available for other platforms.
In a trial between Apple and Epic over this dispute, a judge ruled for Apple in September 2021 for nine of 10 counts. Epic is appealing the ruling.
As you can see, Epic Games has developed Fortnite with crossplay and cross-platform gamers in mind. It’s a shame that Epic’s legal issues with Apple have eliminated iOS and Mac cross-play for now, along with preventing new installs of the game on Apple’s devices.

But the construction ruined the gaming experience too much — the fingers refused to move so quickly to build up skyscrapers and effortlessly ruin everyone around. Fortnite has changed incredibly in 4 years! And in the next run, we took two cars and cosplayed either «Boomer» or «Brigade».
Of course, you need to coordinate the stack here no less than in Dota or CS, otherwise the game quickly turns into uncontrollable madness (believe me, there is some fun here). But in a couple of visits, you can easily prioritize and distribute who is driving the tank, who is sitting on the turret, and who will come out in the midst of the battle to repair the car and fill the tank.

Fortnite without building I recommend to anyone who is looking for carefree entertainment for many evenings with friends. There is crossplay, many locations, and the game itself is dynamic enough not to get bored. And we also came across a lot of intermediate or casual players — probably after the update a lot of the same newcomers burst in, which gave the game a funny arcade quality for a while.
I don’t know how much more time I’m going to spend in the battle royale and how much my wallet will thin out because of a bunch of skins, but for now I’m going to have fun. nine0003
