Black Desert is pretty standard for MMO mechanics. You’ll find your main quest, side quests, a somewhat limited PvP mode, and various other bits and bobs.
If Black Desert has one significant drawback, the graphics can be too detailed and occasionally blur together into a confusing mess. If you’ve got one of the best Android tablets, definitely play it there instead.

This genre is developing at a rapid pace, and some of the best Android MMORPGs of 2020 can compete on equal terms with their counterparts living on the PC.
However, this market is highly saturated. To find a worthwhile option, you need to shovel dozens of through passages. So you don’t have to, we’ve found the best mobile MMORPGs of 2020 and 2021 to help you pass the evening.
Warhammer: Odyssey
One of the most ambitious 3D MMOs on Android currently in development.
The famous Warhammer setting will be at Odyssey not only for marketing. The developers promise that in the game it will be possible to walk around the locations known from books on the universe and meet the most recognizable creatures, the design of which meets the strict requirements of Games Workshop.
Players will have to choose a class, each with a unique role, and fight against the hordes of Chaos, striving to devour the Old World. Many Android MMORPG games in development for 2020 were delayed to a later date, so Warhammer: Odyssey didn’t go into beta until July. We expect a release in the first half of 2021.
Project V4
Colorful MMO from the eminent Korean publisher Nexon, made according to the canons of the genre. Fantasy setting with an epic story should appeal to all fans of role-playing games. The title was developed on the latest version of the latest Unreal Engine 4, thanks to which the graphics and optimization are at a high level. Automatic features like auto-combat and auto-run found in many other Android MMOs have found their way here as well.
The global server opened in the summer, and a fairly large Russian-speaking community gathered in Project V4. If you’re looking for a beautiful game that doesn’t offer radical innovation, then Project V4 is a worthy choice.
Granado Espada Mobile
Classic online RPG that decided to enter the mobile application market. The unique aspect of this project will be that players will have to control three characters at once, instead of one. Studio T3 Entertainment promises to transfer to the Mobile version everything for which they loved the original, optimizing it for the new hardware.
Given the relative success of the “full-sized” Granado Espada, the phone version had every chance of getting into the top MMORPG for Android 2020, but last year confused all the cards. We are currently waiting for the release of this new product in 2021.
Diablo: Immortal
Diablo: Immortal isn’t a full-blown massive online RPG, but if Blizzard follows current trends, it will have more than enough multiplayer elements.
The announcement of the mobile Diablo in 2018 was perceived by the fans of the series, to put it mildly, ambiguously. Many expected a sequel, but received a project for phones. The developers left to work and nothing was heard about the project for a long time, but a year later Blizzard showed gameplay videos, fueling interest in their creation. Apparently, Diablo: Immortal will be very similar to the classic Diablo. It will have six familiar classes (Barbarian, Monk, Demon Hunter, Sorcerer, Necromancer, Crusader) and familiar dynamic gameplay adapted to modern smartphones. According to rumors, Diablo: Immortal should be released in 2021, but the exact release date is still unknown.
Icarus M
The long-awaited spin-off Riders of Icarus finally made it to the Russian segment in September 2020. As in the original MMO, the main feature of the Icarus M is aerial combat mounted on fantasy creatures. Dozens of animals can be tamed in the game. The content set is standard for MMORPGs: bosses, dungeons, raids.
There is an auto-battle feature that allows you to farm content when there is no way to keep a close eye on the action on the screen.
Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, Icarus M does not have Russian localization.
Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds
The original Ni no Kuni is a classic JRPG that has become popular in the west for its beautiful graphics and pleasing art style. Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds was showcased in fall 2020. The usual fantasy setting has been replaced by a world in which there is virtual reality technology, where the player’s character actually ends up. They promise to fill the plot with interesting twists and memorable characters, as befits a real RPG.
The new Ni no Kuni is made on Unreal Engine 4 and uses all the latest technologies. During the presentation, they showed very nice locations, made in the same familiar cartoon style, so you don’t have to worry about the quality of the picture.
Odin: Valhalla Rising
Many of the best mobile MMORPGs of 2020 did not come out last year, despite the expectations of the players.
These, unfortunately, include Valhalla Rising. Last year we were shown a beautiful and mysterious trailer for a new MMO set in a fantasy world inspired by Norse mythology. In addition to beautiful graphics and the atmosphere of the Vikings, nothing was shown. Valhalla Rising should be released not only for smartphones, but also for PC and group dungeons and massive PvP are expected in the game.
Eternal
Formerly known as «Project Eternal», this online RPG is the epitome of the experience of the Japanese studio Asobimo, which has released many quality MMOs for iOS and Android devices.
Eternal features a fantasy setting with a vast game world. There are four classes to choose from, there is an automatic battle used in dungeons and raids. Fans of PvP have not been deprived either — you can participate in battles in arenas and even in massive battles with the participation of several dozen players.
So far, Eternal is only available in Japan, so those who want to try it out will have to use a VPN.
Sooner or later there will be a global release, but the exact date at the time of writing is not known.
Dragon Raja
Dragon Raja was hailed as a next-generation project that set the bar higher for the online role-playing game genre. The game was developed by the famous Chinese studio Archosaur Games, and it was released in China in 2019, quickly becoming popular with players. However, Dragon Raja appeared in Russia and other regions only a year later.
So did the developers make a breakthrough? Yes and no. Dragon Raja has a very interesting modern setting with a touch of cyberpunk that feels like a breath of fresh air among the huge number of fantasy competitors. The Unreal Engine 4 engine made it possible to create a very cool picture, so you won’t be able to find fault with the graphics. There is also a lot of content, and for every taste. However, there is a feeling that Dragon Raja could be something more. The plot turned out to be not very interesting, many points are obvious that will encourage players to make in-game purchases, and the gameplay with auto-battle and auto-quests is not much different from analogues.
Gran Saga
The mobile MMO market is full of different titles, but Gran Saga has a chance to stand out and become a real hit. In 2020, GS was released in South Korea, and since then it has not left the high positions of various charts and ratings.
