Overview of the 5 best internal HDD manufacturers — rating from MOYO.ua
Do you want your laptop to remember more, or do you need to expand the storage of a stationary PC? Then it would be nice to buy a hard drive. This review presents five manufacturers of internal drives that have achieved popularity due to the reliability and variety of HDDs produced. Features and examples of models of each company will help you make the right choice.
SEAGATE
Existing since 19For 79 years, the company has been making Barracuda hard drives (one of the most popular lines). These models were the first HDDs whose spindle rotated at 7200 rpm. However, not only for this, the company entered the rating of the best manufacturers of hard drives.
Why SEAGATE models are good:
One of the main advantages of this brand’s HDD is that all models work on caching technology, which includes several levels. Due to this, files and programs load faster. In addition to the fact that BarraCuda hard drives load faster, they also read information faster. This is due to the optimization of the data flow, which consists in combining caching, as well as two types of memory — DRAM and NAND.
Each option may be the best choice if you need a fast hard drive. For example, SATA 1TB is a great option not only for storing files, but also for installing games or other heavy programs. This model has a classic 3.5” form factor and excellent speed indicators: external — 600 Mb/s, internal — 1680 Mb/s. In addition, the computer will not hum with it: the volume in standby mode does not exceed 22 decibels.
Of course, the company produces not only terabyte hard drives. For those who need more storage, there are options for 2 thousand gigabytes and even six terabytes.

WESTERN DIGITAL (WD)
The now world-famous corporation was founded in the USA back in 1970. The company got into the review of the best manufacturers not only because of the high quality, but also because of the widest range of products. Each line of internal hard drives has its own purpose.
Interesting: HDDs have become so good that in 2010 WESTERN DIGITAL (WD) came out on top in the industry, ahead of even production monsters like Seagate.
6 lines of hard drives and their purpose:
- Blue . As the creators assure, these are budget models for the office. However, they can safely be classified as universal. So, SATA 3.0 1TB, which belongs to this series, is often used in PC gaming assemblies.
- Black — HDDs designed for heavy loads. They are used to install operating systems, resource-intensive games and programs. For example, WD5003AZEX is able to cope with tasks of almost any complexity.
- Red — focused on the 24 hour work schedule. They are not afraid of damage, do not heat up, and are famous for their reduced energy consumption. The 4 terabyte IntelliPower is just that.
- Purple — designed for video surveillance systems. Models will not let you lose video stream data, they have built-in software for processing video files. One of the best options for these purposes is the 3TB WD30PURZ.
- Gold — designed for super-high load, which is 10 times higher than the classic desktop models. They are completed in 2.5 million hours. A bright representative of the line is WD4002FYYZ.
- Green is an eco-friendly range that is renowned for its low power consumption, making it great for laptops. They also do not use environmentally harmful lead.
