Do you like Kinect? Don’t bother with this title and stick to the rest. 16 minigames, 16 ways to get bored, or frustrated. This at least is an achievement.

Even if Game Party was the only party-oriented Kinect game, we still wouldn’t recommend it. [Feb 2011, p.73]

some of the games can drive you crazy, darts being the most annoying, but once you get the hang of them its all good. there is a good mix of games with my fav being the root beer tapper game
this wouldnt be my choice of a first kinect purchase, that would be kinect sports, but its definately one to add to your collection.… Expand-

1. IT’S SUPER LAGGY- 90% of the games you play involve throwing something (i.e. a dart, basketball, bean bag, ect..). No matter how hard you try to aim, the kinect will not transfer it properly. I have spun around and gotten dizzy, then threw the object and hit a target, to later spin around again and miss it, which is about the same results you will get if you actually try to aim. The kinect just isn’t cut out for aiming objects based on how you throw. It can’t even truly tell when you release the object.
2. THE GAMES SIMPLY AREN’T FUN- The games involve football throwing, dart throwing, bocce ball, ski ball, and basically all the games that you go to either a family reunion or arcade to play.
3. DON’T UNLOCK ANY NEW CONTENT- In the game you feel as though you are completely trapped. You don’t ever feel like you make any progress which is very discouraging. There are no unlocked levels or unlocked games/locations/abilities. It’s completely frustrating.
4. IT IS BASICALLY ENTERTAINING FOR ONLY A DAY- Once you beat all of the games, you will be bored.
This would be a fantastic game if it was sold for $2.99 at the thrift store.… Expand

The Kinect settings are so bad that the only way to gain any score from any actions in this game would be purely coincidental. I think I hit a target in the darts by jumping up and down in frustration with the game. The other major flaw is the lack of controller support, meaning that you literally have to use the Kinect features to navigate the menu which is extremely difficult to use and only registers very precise and out of place hand signals. I would argue this is more strict than North Korea’s holiday travel program. Multiplayer is also broken so don’t bother attempting to play with a friend. I think if I had a dozen beers and fell asleep in the menu would grant me a better experience. 0/10.… Expand

Zumba Fitness World Party Xbox One Review: Dancing makes the world go round — Games
Tiffany Garrett
Games
Xbox One includes a free fitness game called Xbox Fitness for Xbox Live Gold members — see the console review for a detailed description. Not for nothing to look into the horse, but the Xbox Fitness has a lot of room for improvement. Where is the personality — inspiration? A player who is serious about training may want something more.
Luckily, Majesco Entertainment (publisher of Double Dragon: Neon for Xbox 360) and UK developer Zoë Mode (creators of another Xbox One launch title Powerstar Golf ) have their own fitness game for early Xbox One users. Zumba Fitness World Party is the latest game in the Zumba series. Combining dozens of workouts with amazingly good music from around the world, World Party is a game not to be overlooked by fitness-minded Xbox One gamers.
Don’t miss the break to find out more, exclusive screenshots and our first Xbox One video review!
Authentic Dance Workouts
World Party is based on the Zumba dance fitness program which consists of real classes, workout videos and of course games.
The debut Xbox One game uses the new Kinect to provide highly accurate motion detection. Players dance to the accompaniment of a live instructor (who appears in CGI and sometimes fantasy backgrounds) and imitate the instructor’s movements. In terms of gameplay, World Party is more like Dance Center than a rigorous training game. Every step is a legitimate dance move; It just so happens that dancing is a great workout.
Your silhouette will appear in the bottom corner of the screen. As you move through the motions, various grades will appear over your silhouette from «Good» to «Zumba». The instructors themselves do not provide verbal feedback or instructions; they just lead you into the dance.
Earn six Zumba in a row and the background will glow with streaks of light and other visual effects. It can be distracting and/or trite, but they also make the game more interesting to watch than the usual old workout video.
At the end of a song, each player receives a star rating based on his or her rating of movement during the song. One thing I love about Zumba is it’s pretty easy to get a 5 star rating the first time you play a song. I hate it when dance games require precision beyond my physical ability.
game modes
age of empires 2 hd strategy
Before we get to the heart of the game (World Tour mode), let’s look at the other modes. World Party Offers:
- Learn Steps : A tutorial mode where players can practice the basic steps of the 13 dance styles of the game. Given World Party Multicultural focus, they include styles as varied as Salsa, Reggae, Bollywood and Capoeira (also known as Sexy Wrestling Dance).
Movements can be practiced at slow or normal speed. One annoying aspect of the tutorial’s user interface is that you have to raise your hand and return to the menu to move on to the next turn. There should be a shortcut gesture. However, each style guide offers an easy achievement, so you’ll want to complete them at some point.
- Quick Play : Choose one song you want to dance to. The 44 songs in the game contain many licensed tracks, such as Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, as well as recognizable world classics such as the Carmen theme, capoeira chants from Only strong , and a Russian medley that starts with Tetris theme! Full list here.
- Complete Class : Modeled after real-life activities, players can choose from several 20-, 40-, or 60-minute activities. Oddly enough, you can’t view the songs contained in the class playlist. This makes looking up the class you like wacky. On the other hand, players can create their own playlist with 2-10 songs of their choice.
World Tour
With a name like World Party , it’s natural for this Zumba Campaign mode, covering the entire globe. Choose from seven places to visit: Brazil, Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, India, Los Angeles and Puerto Rico. Once you have chosen your destination, you will have a brief live tour of the region. Then you will start playing 6-8 songs of this area in a row.
By earning high star ratings, players can unlock collectibles such as postcards, passport stamps, souvenirs, and bonus movies. Good idea, but it’s not the video content that’s most frustrating. Each element is a tiny image that cannot be enlarged. Come on, there’s more than enough space on the game disc for full-screen photos!
It’s always nice when the metagame ties different modes together, and World Party knows that. Any progress made in the World Tour and other modes affects the player’s level. Starting from level zero, you have to go through 10 levels. Each level gained unlocks new bonus content.
Multiplayer
In addition to a great selection of music from around the planet, World Party Another big advantage over Xbox Fitness is local multiplayer. Each mode, with the exception of «Learn the Steps», supports two dancers at the same time on Xbox One and Xbox 360. Fellows launch Just Dance 2014 allows up to four dancers to play at the same time, but two people are great for playing to provide a serious workout . I have the impression that World Party tracks motion better anyway.
Teaming up with a friend or other person for world dance sessions is a lot of fun. Everyone can choose their own Xbox Live profile and earn achievements — a huge advantage over the Just Dance series, which stubbornly continues to deny Achievements to anyone but the main player. Both players earn stars independently of each other, so a less experienced dancer won’t hurt the other player’s chances of ranking high.
My zumba
The world party has some decent helpers to help track player progress. The weekly report displays game time, calories burned and activities performed for every seven days of the year. Stat tracking could probably be a bit more extensive. How about using the new Kinect heart rate monitor? But he does his job.
The Goals feature allows players to create up to four Goals to work on at the same time. You can basically set how many calories you want to burn and then the time period for that to happen. World Party also offers community goals that all online players can participate in, such as collective achievement of calories and regular milestones.
Menu Madness
how to cancel xbox game pass ultimate
The only downside to World Party Kinect integration is its menu system. The motion menus work quite well (much better than Just Dance 2014’s S), but they’re still about making selections slow for a few seconds.
World Party only supports a few voice commands (making voice mostly useless) and does not support a controller. Every Kinect game needs controller support in the menu (something Just dance gets eligible).
Achievements
This Zumba offers 39 achievements worth 1000 GamerScore. Most of them are quite simple and/or just require the completion of each World Tour song/tutorial/collectible. As I said earlier, World Party is much easier than Dance Central — including achievements.
One that requires some effort, requires players to complete a full 60 minute session. I find that you can just stand still during a class, which will help people like me who struggle with longer workouts.
There are also two co-op achievements, so you’ll need a friend to get the full GamerScore.
Overall Impression
I entered the Zumba Fitness World Party with hopes for a good workout game and low expectations for the soundtrack. I found an exercise game that also stimulates the mind thanks to its extensive selection of multicultural songs and dances.
