The Basics

Here is some general info that can help you and your team conquer the Zombies.

Jolts

Jolts are the new currency in Call of Duty: WWII and can be acquired by killing enemies. Jolts are used for many things including upgrading weapons, purchasing weapons and Blitz Power Ups, and other interactions on the map. When players accumulate enough Jolts, they will be able to progress through the map.

Upgrading Weapons

Player can upgrade their weapons at weapon upgrade stations. Upgrading weapons costs an expensive 5000 jolts but is well worth the investment as they provide much more firepower. Upgrading your weapons will also change the appearance of the weapon. For more information on how to upgrade your weapons, check out the Pack-a-Punch page.

Classes

There are four playable classes with different abilities in Zombies. A key to success is having a good combination of the four.

advertisement

  • Offense: This class can activate an ability for unlimited ammo for a short period of time.
  • Support: This class can activate an ability that attracts all zombies to them in exchange for double the damage during this time.
  • Control: This class can activate an ability that unleashes a burst of energy that stuns, immobilizes, and damages all zombies caught in the burst.
  • Medic: This class has an ability that makes them invisible to zombies.

Consumables

Consumables are one time use items that provide discounts, spawn power-ups, or temporarily grant powerful weapons, among other things.

Self-revives

Can be used to pick yourself up from Last Stand up to two times per match.

World War II and Zombies — Information about Call of Duty Vanguard

appeared on the network

The next game in the Call of Duty franchise will send players to the fields of World War II. The game will not be presented at E3 2021, but will be held in the Warzone battle royale.

The fact that Call of Duty Vanguard will not be shown at E3 2021 is reported by videogameschronicle.

According to available information, the game will be announced through a special event that will take place in the shareware battle royale Warzone before the end of this summer. Earlier, information about the Ural sanatorium, a new Warzone location, leaked to the network.

A new part of the Call of Duty series is being developed by Sledgehammer Games. The game will be released on PC, PS 4|5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Estimated release date is November 2021.

Unlike the new military shooter Battlefield 2042, Call of Duty Vanguard will have a story campaign, as well as a zombie mode. The scene will be the European and Pacific theater of operations.

The new Warzone battle royale map will be in the World War II setting. Apparently, it will be larger than Verdansk.

Against the Storm Review (Early Version)

Just a few games turned out to be enough to understand that he fell into skillfully placed snares and will not get out of them soon. The Against the Storm project deftly manipulates the minds of strategy lovers with a unique gameplay that immerses you in the world of endless settlement developments and the eternal cataclysm that erases them. Hope only for the invincibility of the Smoldering City and the mercy of the queen.

A love letter to classic horror. Signalis Review

The game from a microscopic team from Germany, thanks to familiar mechanics, is hard not to compare with the legendary Silent Hill and Resident Evil. And the art, similar to the work of revered mangakas, vague borrowings from cult media products and the attention of maestro Guillermo del Toro frankly scream — the developers have prepared an exquisite delicacy. But I won’t try it all.

Films about Nazi zombies — the best horror and comedy films about German zombies, list

Since November 8, Overlord is playing in Russian cinemas, an excellent war film in which Nazi zombies become the main opponents of the heroes. In this regard, we decided to recall other films, the creators of which combined two of the worst cliches of genre cinema (enemies-dead and enemies-NSDAP) into one in order to get … something impressive at the end. Moreover, at least one of the films in the selection has earned a place in the history of cinema and, along with Overlord, is proof that works of art should not be judged by their cover and subject matter. I wrote a segment about Shock Waves, the rest of the lyrics are by Denis Varkov.

Shock Waves, 1977

2 photos

Of all the films in this selection, only Shock Waves claims to be a real movie that goes beyond genre. The stunning debut of director/writer Ken Wiederhorn went unnoticed in the year of release and was only appreciated in the DVD and Bluray era after the film was played at cult and forgotten horror film festivals for many years.

Wiederhorn will have managed to shoot one of the most powerful slashers of all time — Eyes of a Stranger, which Quentin Tarantino promoted at his festivals — and the extremely underrated second part of «The Return of the Living Dead», performed in the style of children’s horror comics, and then he is retrained as a strong TV director under a contract. But for all my love for Eyes of a Stranger (seriously, check it out — it’s probably the best slasher you’ve never heard of), Shock Waves remains the director’s most interesting, creative, and arthouse film.

As in the case of Overlord, you will not find what you expect to see with the words «zombie Nazis» (by the way, Shock Waves, as far as I know, is the first picture from the life of Nazi zombies in the history of cinema ). The film is micro-budget, despite the participation of well-known actors Peter Cushing and John Carradine, who were paid $5,000 each by the director.

There is not a drop of blood in the film and no special effects at all — most likely because Wiederhorn knew that he would not have a budget, and wrote the script so that the Nazi zombies dealt with the victims as bloodlessly as possible. There is not even outstanding makeup — it’s all about the costumes, the uniforms of the dead Nazis and the huge canned glasses they wear. By the way, glasses are an important plot detail, they are tied to the only sure way to deal with zombies, which is also extremely original in the film.

The story is simple — tourists get to the island, Nazi zombies emerge from under the water, tourists run away from them with varying success … But Wiederhorn superbly filmed and edited how zombies stand under water, slowly emerge from it, pursue their forest and an abandoned hotel, drown them.

The very sight of Nazi amphibian zombies standing motionless in the surf (super-soldiers were developed here for a reason, but for underwater sabotage operations) is unforgettable, and even from the trailer, from the shots taken from the back of the Nazi zombie, gradually disappearing under the waves, one can understand what an unusual director Wiederhorn is, how he uses visual imagery, camera movement, choppy editing and psychedelic music.

Dead Snow, 2009

Norwegian comedy horror film directed by Tommy Wirkola heavily influenced by Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead. The plot seems to copy the picture of Raimi, adapting it to a European setting: a group of medical students go to the mountains for the weekend, but one of them accidentally awakens German soldiers buried since the Second World War, who were buried under the snow while collecting gold stolen from the local population .

Just like in The Evil Dead, the heroes have to fight for their lives against dangerous and intelligent resurrected Nazis, led by Standartenführer Herzog. As a result, ordinary teenagers must fight the Nazis, who outnumber them both in number and in training, because they did not lose their skills even after death. And the whole film is flavored with excellent black humor and a satire on the zombie horror genre.

According to the laws of the genre, only one survives at the end, but you can’t just hide from the walking dead, so the film ended with a powerful cliffhanger hinting at a sequel. And he came out five years later.

Dead Snow 2 (2014)

After the success of the first part and Wirkola’s work on Witch Hunters, Tommy got a bigger budget for the sequel and decided to use it to the maximum. First of all, this affected history — it acquired a scale. There were clashes of dozens of zombies. The film has become more like «Army of Darkness», but certain lines from the «Evil Dead» are still adapted here.

For example, the only surviving hero of the first film, Martin, loses his arm and is reattached to the lost limb of the Duke, which does not obey its new owner and acts beyond his control. The parallel with Ash Williams is more than obvious.

Actually, the main achievement of the film is the final battle with the participation of people, zombie hunters from the USA, resurrected Soviet soldiers and, of course, the Nazis. Virkola really managed to shoot this hilarious epic cheerfully and funny. Personally, I like the Dead Snow sequel more than the first part, but I advise you to watch them in a row to understand some elements of the story.

«Infernal Bunker» (Outpost), 2008

Dark horror about an international group of mercenaries who, led by the mysterious Dr. Hunt, are searching for a lost WWII Nazi bunker in Yugoslavia. A scientist is looking for a matter converter, with which the greatest minds of the Reich tried to create super soldiers. And they succeeded. They were able to invent a technology that turned people into zombified soldiers capable of being intangible (and at the same time passing through walls), only the experiment did not go according to plan.

Nazi zombies have been hiding in this bunker for many decades, and now, when people have appeared in it for the first time in a long time, they have someone to hunt. Actually, this is what the movie is about. In the spirit of classic slasher films, the heroes are killed one at a time, only the ending at the Hell’s Bunker is not as rosy as one might expect.

The film stars Ray Stevenson, best known for playing the Punisher and Volstagg in Marvel Studios films, and Richard Break, best known for playing various antagonist roles.

Sucker Punch, 2011

This highly acclaimed film deserves its place in Nazi zombie horror. Also, Zack Snyder’s picture made it to our Top 100 Best Movies, where Sergei Tsilyurik wrote about it:

This is the perfect adaptation of a spherical video game in a vacuum. The film seems to be trying to bring the viewer to such parallels: in the end, the heroine needs to collect a number of key items in order to win, each of which can only be found in a separate world that lives by its own rules — and this is exactly what we used to take in games for given.
