New GTA Online Update’s Nightclub Change Turns It Into Road House

The newest changes to GTA Online’s Nightclubs lets players dispose of rowdy customers, allowing some Road House role-playing in the process.
The newest update to GTA Online‘s Nightclubs allows players to kick rowdy customers to the curb, essentially turning it into a Road House RPG. Originally released as an additional business venture in the After Hours update to GTA Online in 2018, Nightclubs provided players with a lucrative new passive income to build, as well as underground warehousing for storage and new nightclub-related missions to complete. That income could be positively (or negatively) influenced by a nightclub’s popularity, which requires frequent maintenance by keeping patrons satisfied. Luckily, a new feature allows players to pick up a quick popularity boost, a la Patrick Swayze in Road House.
The new feature to eject pesky ne’er-do-wells is one of many new features in GTA Online‘s Criminal Enterprises update, released on July 26. The update promised (and delivered) many new features to GTA Online‘s business options, including new gameplay for bikers, gunrunners, and nightclubs. For nightclub owners, the update provided even more ways to take care of their clubs: players can now care for patrons who’ve had too much to drink, and give them a safe place to cool off. Before the Criminal Enterprises update, nightclub owners focused on service to their patrons, but Rockstar has introduced new features that create a more layered owner experience. Now, it’s just about the closest players will get to becoming the city’s greatest «cooler.»

Before the update’s release, Rockstar’s trailer for GTA Online‘s summer Criminal Enterprises update gave players a brief glimpse of club owners booting their customers, immediately conjuring distant memories of Patrick Swayze cracking skulls in a small town with Sam Elliott. Now that players can, in fact, take the metaphorical trash out in-game, GTA Online is as close to Road House as its ever been. Players can now maintain and operate their own Double Deuce (albeit, with many, many more neon lights).
GTA Online players are already getting to grips with the feature. In a video posted by Reddit user TarTimOoAl, the Swayze-esque booting unfolds, as the player removes a troublemaker from their nightclub. In doing so, the players’ nightclub popularity received a small boost. With GTA Online‘s new nightclub content, regular customer maintenance will help new and long-standing nightclub owners boost their popularity and enjoy higher profits and — for Road House fans — give them their best chance at doling out Dalton’s justice.

GTA Online‘s new update also nerfed flying bikes, so the update isn’t all great news for players who loved to terrorize their enemies in Los Santos. Still, the Criminal Enterprises update is one of the more substantial gameplay updates to the game, and has introduced a bevy of new features that will improve the quality of life for current and new in-game business owners. While there is currently no throat-ripping move in GTA Online, the Criminal Enterprises update has introduced an entertaining and inspired new mechanic to the game.

GTA Online’s Criminal Enterprise Update Expands CEOs, Bikers, Gunrunners, And Nightclubs

The Criminal Enterprises update is now live, and it’s a big one.

Red Dead Online might not be receiving any major content updates going forward, but Rockstar is far from done when it comes to GTA Online. The Criminal Enterprises Update revealed last week has officially gone live across all platforms, and the game’s dedicated community has been busy breaking down exactly what’s new and what’s changed, including all of the added benefits for various groups throughout Los Santos.
The trailer for the update was led by the reveal that gas prices in the game have gone through the roof, and San Andreas is in the middle of a heatwave. Maybe a little too close to home on that front. Hopefully the rest of the changes ushered in aren’t things you will be able to point to in your real lives. New special cargo increasing the variety of white-collar crime missions available to Executives, for example.

Executives aren’t the only criminals in GTA Online who can benefit from today’s update. It is the Criminal Enterprises update after all. MC Presidents of clubhouses with a custom bike shop will be able to modify clients’ bikes in exchange for $GTA and RP. Gunrunners will have two new resupply missions available to them, and if you’re a Nightclub Owner, you can now give Tony a call to launch Club Management missions.
A datamine prior to the update going live hinted that players would soon have the ability to skydive, and also pointed to something that would allow them to leave the island. While a parachuting activity has indeed been added to GTA Online, no new areas have opened up. It’s possible the info discovered was linked to Cayo Perico. The newer island has previously only been available for its related heist, but you can now race there too.
On top of all that, a new vehicle is also available now too. The Greenwood, which will cost you $GTA 1.465 million. The game also now has gold AirPods, but they’re called Beat Offs, the web filters on the in-game websites have been vastly improved, and as rumored a while ago, user-created jobs will appear on Newswire. A hefty and exciting update, and everything above will be available to all players once the update has been applied.
