Van Helsing III is fun, but its reliance on old assets and disappointing brevity make this action role-playing game less than incredible.

Anyone who follows this series will still be entertained with The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III, but they’ll ultimately be disappointed by the overly steamlined nature of this installment. On the other hand, newcomers won’t know what they’re missing… though maybe now they do.

Van Helsing III feels much more like an expansion of the second iteration than a game all on its own. It’s nice to have a solid end to the story, but it’s baffling that so many features were removed from the previous games for this finale.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III is difficult to recommend. Perhaps when it first released for PC five years ago it would get a little more leeway, but as there are better options for an action RPG available, some brand new to PS4 and some that have been out so long they’re dirt cheap. It has a few bright moments, but I’d avoid this unless you desperately want to finish the trilogy.

It doesn’t attempt to do anything original or push the boundaries of RPGs. If this were the 90’s, I might be impressed. Nothing sets this game apart; it strives to be a solid game, nothing more. Unfortunately, ‘solid’ is just too flimsy to warrant a second playthrough.

NeocoreGames delivers yet another satisfying and solid action role-playing game with The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III. Being the conclusion to a trilogy, the third installment includes all of the series favorite elements while also introducing a wealth of improvements. It’s a great time to adventure once again to Borgovia.

All in all, Van Helsing III isn’t a bad game exactly, but it’s not a great game either and in some ways, it’s a disappointing end to what has otherwise been a good series in the ARPG genre. For my money, the series reached its zenith at the second and should have closed the door then.

With a small mix of skills to be leveled up, some passive skills and various other things that make a good RPG style game, The Incredible Adventure of Van Helsing III exits with this final adventure that goes out with some level of closure. Fans will be satisfied, even if this final jaunt is shorter when compared to the other two in the game series. Van Helsing III may be the end of the series but it will make you want to play them all if you have missed the other instalments.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 3 is a good-looking game but the lack of features from the previous entries are a sore point. Allocating skills and levelling up are hindered by a very cluttered UI that would put any newcomer off and the range of classes feels a little false given how similar some are to each other.

A more than competent game with its share of flaws. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III comes as a recommendation for any and all that enjoy the action adventure genre of video games. A beautifully created and realized world filled with interesting locations and enemies.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III is the best installment in these series yet. Gameplay is still the heartbeat of the game and deep multi-branched upgrade system, entertaining looting, challenging combat and various side activities, made The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III a valuable game. Of course it has issues like weak story-telling, some unbalanced classes and some level-designs that are exactly the same with 2 previous games, but in the end i can say that The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III is a nice choice for fans of Action-RPGs.

With Van Helsing III, the franchise stumbles at the final hurdle, failing to capitalize on ideas from its predecessors and even regressing in some areas. While still a competent action-RPG, it is a disappointing finish to a good series.

While the adventures of Van Helsing are far from bad or mediocre, they’re certainly far from incredible. Attention was mainly given to quantity, instead of quality, with lots of great ideas not being implemented correctly, gameplay that feels repetitive, and, finally, a replay value that is extremely low when compared to the one found in the genre’s big ones. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III can be fun at times, but it’s mostly a typical case of «one step forward, two steps back.»

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III is a good game but it might not exactly delight all of its players. Yes, it’s a pity that players can’t import their characters and classes but the new ones are quite varied, even if they can only reach level 30. For such a low price, Neocore’s RPG is a great investment.

I ve been playing all of the Van Helsings so far and was pretty happy when I saw a new installment is upcoming. Sadly so far the third part ofI ve been playing all of the Van Helsings so far and was pretty happy when I saw a new installment is upcoming. Sadly so far the third part of the Van Helsing saga is not too promising. As this is an early review, I might come back and update it but so far this is only a 6/10 to me.
I m playing this on my PS4 Pro SSD on performance mode and I have to say that the performance is not exactly that perfect. With many enemies on the map and special effects coming up, I still encounter frame drops which is a little bit disappointing. Mostly it is not too troublesome but it should not happen at all. Loading times are okay-ish. Considering a PS4 Pro with SSD the loading and porting times are not too fancy I have to say. Cant say how much worse it gets on standard HDD but it might take a bit.
Gameplay on console feels also a little bit clunky. I think that exploding items are sometimes very hard to get perfectly targeted, same goes to shots with ranged characters. It might be a minor hunch but in comparison to other titles it is not super smooth. People who are looking for higher difficulties will probably be very happy. Hard difficulty proves to be not a run through with even higher difficulties possible and on top a hardcore mode is available. Veterans surely will be satisfied by this.
Character itemization is pretty wide. There is a lot of gear to be found and attached to either the main character or your companion. Other games do better in terms of displaying what you have and how good it is on the actual ingame character. The damage display feels weirdly off sometimes. The raw dmg seems a lot higher, dps seems lower, when compared some weapons dont seem to differ much which is a little bit irritating. There are multiple instances of perk trees, skill trees and character stats which will provide a decent depths and complexity which I normally embrace. This time it does not feel that appealing to me. Extending variety is brought by your companion which also has different skill trees and can be configured in terms of AI handling. There is a wide set of characters you can choose from, with different emphasize on mage, melee, ranged arms man etc.
The visual presentation is okay, nothing spectacular in my opinion, same goes to the audio experience that the game is providing. After all the time the third installment feels a bit rusty. Some UI elements could be a little bit bigger and some people may have issues with that, but as always this is somewhat subjective.
Van Helsing 3 provides a city hub that gives different content to the player such as a city defense mode that can be compared to games such as Orcs Must Die or Dungeon Defenders. The hub is also starting point for main and sub quests, also it brings a variety of merchants plus another type of companion that you can send on missions without spoiling too much.
I can summarize some disappointment on my side. The game is pretty cheap to grab and features around 6 to 10hrs of gameplay depending on your own play style and experience. I encountered some blue screens which is also a no-go for me. The performance issues are disappointing also, considering the graphics are no rocket science and I m trying to play this game on a PS4 Pro with SSD. Genre fans and Van Helsing veterans still might be tempted to grab it early and surely will have their satisfaction in returning to this very special world. I would rather wait for some patchwork to be done and maybe also a slight price drop. Although paying 15 bucks for this game is not too much of misspick either.… Expand

3DNews Games T The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing… The most interesting news
The mad professor was killed, the disgraced commander was executed, the raging mother nature was pacified — and the younger Van Helsing still has no rest. One last dash behind the head of the main villain — well, that’s why. But not because you want to, but because you need to. For peace of mind
It will not be a spoiler to say that this time the number one target is the Prisoner of Seven, he is also the Faceless Tsar — or rather, the mythical essence hiding behind this catchy little name, perfectly familiar to any person of Slavic blood. Pretending to be a loyal ally throughout the second part, at the end he vilely threw our Van Helsing and generally turned out to be the root of all troubles. And now the young hunter, not accustomed to putting up with the fact that he is led by the nose, stubbornly makes his way through the crowds of vile creatures in order to put an end to the chaos that has gripped Borgovia once and for all.
It would seem that here it is, the culmination — the hero against the villain, it’s time to reveal all the cards. But if you expect something powerful from the finale, you can relax. Scenario Van Helsing III is completely, absolutely, to the extent of comparison identical to those in the previous two parts. Seriously, the game almost repeats frame by frame everything that was before, only in other scenery and with other models of characters. At a certain point, the feeling of deja vu becomes so strong that you start to miss even the most hackneyed plot clichés. I would like the monotonous action to be shaken up somehow, even just a little, so that the villain suddenly gets out, read his pathos monologue and throws some nasty things to the hero-hunter, so that at least someone breaks into the seemingly safe shelter, so that … But instead, the developers offer you to listen to the sad life story of the ghostly companion of the hero, Lady Katarina, who suddenly broke into revelations in the third part. Even Van Helsing himself does not really understand why all of a sudden, but there is nothing to do — in conversations with Katarina there are no dialogue options, so you have to listen about the evil dad, dear sister and poor pony. The scriptwriters considered this very important, but at least re-read your story a second time for elementary logical inconsistencies … why, and so it will do! Poetry torture — the vogens from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy would be proud of our jailer «Why are you clucking like that, good sir?» — you may ask, noticing that in role-playing action movies the plot is secondary, and the story of the same Diablo or Torchlight does not claim the Pulitzer Prize either. But a good game can make up for a script weakness with something else, such as fun gameplay. It was this that partly saved Van Helsing II (albeit having lost the sense of novelty of the original), but in the third part, everything is completely sad with this — there is nothing more to cover her shortcomings. In some completely incomprehensible creative impulse, the developers decided to seriously shovel the role-playing system of the game — and in the end they completely ruined it. To begin with, the set of available character classes has completely changed. The trinity that has already become familiar has sunk into oblivion — instead of it, as many as six new professions with an even narrower specialization are offered. The characters are all classic: a pair of hand-to-hand combatants, a shooter, a sorcerer, a mechanic — except that the Phlogistoneer, dressed in a hefty exoskeleton, which is equipped with various fire, rocket and mortars, looks relatively fresh. The “diversity” that seemed attractive in the trailers actually turned into a whole lot of problems, the first of which is the inability to transfer your character from the previous game. If you diligently raised your Van Helsing for two parts — well, it’s a pity, but you will have to forget about him. This is a blatant miscalculation, but, in principle, one could put up with it if the newcomers turned out to be a worthy and interesting replacement for the veterans. Oh, dreams, dreams… By increasing the number of classes, the creators mercilessly cut down everything else. The level cap dropped again to level 30, for Katarina it dropped to level 26, and what’s left of the large and sprawling skill tree is a total crying experience. Each character now has less than a dozen active skills, of which a maximum of two or three — usually the original ones — are really useful. Auras have also thinned out, though not so much, but tricks have disappeared altogether as such. There can be no talk of any variability of pumping in such conditions. In principle, it is not possible to somehow deviate from the line of development outlined by the developers, and no matter how much you want, Protector will never throw his sword at the enemy, and Phlogistoneer will not hit the creature in the face with a pound mechanical fist. Paradoxically, in the triquel, Lady Katarina, the non-playable companion of the protagonist, turns out to be a much more role-playing character than the title hunter himself — she hasn’t been particularly affected by the changes, and it’s just possible to sculpt various options from her. In addition to being enhanced by rage, skills are now accompanied by permanent modifiers — they are of little use, but you need to put points somewhere all three parts under one icon. That is, it turns out that the developers first got confused and rebuilt the entire familiar system, and now they will puzzle over how to bring it, already a new one, to a common denominator with the old one. Where, excuse me, is the banal logic in making unnecessary problems for yourself? When, for example, Deus Ex: Human Revolution — Director’s Cut was assembled in Eidos, at least the main game and the expansion were based on the same principles and fit together perfectly, like the details of a designer. It is difficult to predict what the Hungarians will do now, but so far it seems that a crookedly stitched Frankenstein monster is waiting for us. In Van Helsing III, you sincerely try to cling to at least something good, whole, working properly, but it doesn’t work out. The mini-game to protect your Lair from the advancing waves of enemies is already frankly tired. On its theme, the developers even released a separate independent project — Deathtrap — it would seem that everything, the topic is closed. But no, we need more tower defense! Well, at least, these tasks can be abandoned, dumping them on the shoulders of trusted captains. From the chimera, which debuted in the second part, there was not much use before, but now it has finally turned into a piece of furniture. It is no longer possible to call her for help in battle, all that remains is to drive the animal on a safari for clothes and essences — but this goodness is already falling from enemies in abundance, in order to still visit the pet for it. The rune craft has disappeared, the services of a gypsy are no longer relevant due to the reduction of the role model, trophies work through a stump deck … And as if this is not enough, even after several patches the game still works very unstable — it loads slowly, crashes with errors from time to time, throws out fortel with textures and besides, it is not good friends with the Steam overlay. However, this is a chronic disease of the entire series — the previous parts still have not got rid of many technical problems. Turned away for a second — and the creature had resistance to everything from nowhere. Miracles, and only As they say, they started for health — they finished for peace. The very first game remains the most successful — an honest one-shot action-RPG with good humor, new interesting surroundings and not burdened with any extraneous excesses. Developers would continue to adhere to this line — and everything would be fine. But instead, they swung at the laurels of Diablo III, adding a lot of unnecessary things to the game and creating the illusion of diversity. By doing this, they killed the good that Van Helsing’s incredible adventures initially attracted, without offering anything significant in return. And there is little joy in deceived expectations. The creators after the successful parts decided to please the fans and extend the Van Helsing series for season 3, the release date of which should take place in the fall of 2018.

What the series is about
The storyline itself revolves around the mysterious lady Vanessa «Van Helsing». The heroine of the series «Van Helsing» lay unconscious for several years in one of the clinics. Much has changed during this period of time. It turns out that the vampires living in the basement, plucked up courage and rebelled against people. A strong race intends to rule the world and destroy people . The military tries to fight the bloodsuckers, but it turns out to be a futile task. Gradually, a new era begins, where the bloodsuckers rule.
A miraculously surviving soldier plans to fulfill the order and protect the sleeping girl because, according to many, she can help in solving difficulties.
