Excellent Set Pieces and Story. No progression on Weapons and some more stealth gameplay elements could of been added for an otherwise pretty awesome game.

Story was good, a good ending for Nathan (and I’m a sucker for everything turning out great), but geez is the shooting pretty horrible.

Like extremely boring. Stealth was ~okay~, but pretty lacking. Maybe in 2016 was better, but I don’t actually think so. All the uncharted games haven’t aged that well in my opinion.

3 feels harsh because it’s solid, but by my admission it isn’t great.

I actually gave the PS4 version a 9 way back, the difference here is that playing at high framerates is transformative for this game. It’s a significantly better experience. Though I also played with gyro aim, and hard difficulty which I didn’t for the PS4 version. Those definitely contributed. The point is, I think UC4 is one of the funnest shooters I’ve ever played. The level design was already incredible, but this definitely pushed it into top tier for me. In my eyes, this is also the best looking Playstation Studios game when you factor in art style. It’s crazy just a simple framerate boost can change my opinion of a game so much. Now I want Uncharted 2 on pc. That would be incredible. As for the story, I love it. These pirate focused story’s just speak to me and I really like how varied the locations are. Also, I always see people complain about how easy the platforming is but at the end of the day, it’s fun. That’s all that matters. Chapter 11 was especially a master class. They cram a whole games worth of variety into one hour: exploration->platforming->platforming puzzle->puzzle->shootout->insane car chase.

Game is well balanced with charecters, story, narration, awesome graphics with well builded music… But if they’ve released full collection of Nathan Drake from part 1.. then we can connect emotionally with that charecter in very deep rooted .. The problem with uncharted 4 is we played the finale part without knowing the protagonist plot story . . looks like a middle of nowhere… So this is the reason it got the 90per…. And all the factors was good ..

The first half of the game is a strong 9/10. However, the other half has some pacing issues. There’s no more variety in environments and there are some pretty lengthy platforming sections. The combat becomes somewhat monotonous and there are very few cinematic sequences compared to the first half of the game.

Runs very well on PC, although I’ve encountered some strange fps drops using DLSS — basically, the framerate would drop by 30% or so after half an hour and wouldn’t go back without a game restart. I managed to overcome this by switching to FSR and setting textures to medium (according to some reddit comment).

One of the best games out there regarding story. Seeing the conclusion of Nathan’s story is heartwarming, heartbreaking and everything in between. The combat is what you expect from Uncharted, so it’s not the best thing in the world but it’s a massive improvement from past games. But not even that is able to cloud the incredible experience that this game is, mainly regarding story and absolutely beautiful graphics that look even better on PC than it did on PS5.

Overall, one of the best conclusions to any games series and even by itself, it’s one of the best games on its genre. GO PLAY IT!

Great game and great experience. The gunplay feels better than ever in Uncharted, the enemy difficulty is pretty much perfect, the game is beautiful on the ps5, the story is good and layered and the locations are for the most part great.

I like the less and less focus on just waves of bad guys, and more exploring/platforming/story. The final bossfight, although not anything special, is still the best final fight in the games.

Elena, Sully and Nate are still awesome, Sam is fine. Rafe as the main villain works, and there isnt anything stupidly supernatural

Could maybe have been a bit more large setpieces, and in some of the jungle/mountain elevator chapters i didnt really know what i was doing

Great game and a great ending to Nathan Drakes story. The epilogue is also very cute. The chapter at Nathans house at the beginning is also fun to play, and very nostalgic

Simple story, complex characters is essentially this game. Animations and voice acting are top notch, and the visuals still look incredible. The gameplay is amazing, it’s one of the most fun 3rd person shooters. The level and encounter design is significantly improved from NDs earlier games. The two ending chapters were done so well, with the fight with Rafe as well as the epilogue. Rafe was a great villain, probably the best in the whole series. Their isn’t much to do in the open world areas and I was mostly rushing to get to the plot going again. The puzzles weren’t very interesting compared to the older games. One of the great things compared to the old games is that the characters actually receive substantial character development. Nathan isn’t the same man throughout the whole game unlike in some other Uncharted games.

I do think this Uncharted had some of the greatest moments in the entire series to date, bar none. The Photo mode, which must have felt like the most incredible thing prior to other games doing it better (looking at you Ghost of Tsushima), the way Elena, Drake, Sully, and Sam interact with one another. .. but especially Elena, talk about a glow-up from Uncharted 1 and the pathos when she looks at Drake like that. The way climbing has received a major facelift, the middle of the game and onward, when they allow you to drive the jeep and again when you go through the level with the boat and there isn’t a single enemy. So damn good.

But then there are the lowest lows. For example, I think the gunplay, for all that it is more realistic, is somehow both better and worse. I think that, with the characters being the age they are, this being a ‘last hurrah’ of sorts, that the reticle within the reticle made sense. On the other hand, especially on Crushing, the aiming is so unforgivably inconsistent that combat wasn’t only a messy slog, but literally, when there were more than two or three people, I never felt confident fighting. Now, I think this might secretly be a blessing in disguise, as even the trophies try to lead you to go through encounters non-violently. And in that sense, the non-combative aspect is huge. But fuck me, the shooting is so bad. I remember in Uncharted 2 how I could consistently shoot people? When I wanted to. Good luck with that in Uncharted 4. And more than ever, I just felt like current Naughty Dog should move on to something else, that they were doing this more as a sign of respect to their own legacy and work than anything. The Naughty Dog which created Uncharted back in 2007 is mostly gone, the new Naughty Dog better than ever, yet different. This isn’t bad, but the game ND made is in many ways hampered by having to fit in the Uncharted box. The open world sequences are incredible, I see how they directly inspired Gears 5, and in both of these games, they are an absolute highlight. Yet here, in Uncharted, they are hampered both by the fights, which without the autotargeting from lower difficulties is extremely inconsistent and difficult, and the treasures and collectibles the game teaches you to look for in every nook and cranny… in the linear levels, as the placement/logic of placement in Madagascar and in the island-boat sequence is completely different. Good luck rewiring your brain to accept that however!

Still think it’s better than Uncharted 1 and 3, so that’s something. Feel like the character writing is inconsistent, on the surface/fluffy side far too often, avoiding digging into some of the more pressing content; smart alecks gonna be smart alecks.

Not crazy about the epilogue personally, hope The Lost Legacy fixes some of the problems I had with Uncharted 4.

Uncharted 4 is a surprisingly big and nuanced game, telling a surprisingly twist-filled story and surprisingly very complex world-building. Honestly, in terms of the lore of the world that you’re discovering, this is easily my favorite of the Uncharted series, and possibly of any quasi-archaeology based game. It does suffer from the franchise’s most glaring problems, here even more to the forefront, however. Like, your characters are making deciphering puzzles and making discoveries that have bewildered the whole world for CENTURIES, but every time you make an epic discovery, something that nobody on Earth ever has, it turns out that you were about 5 minutes ahead of the enemy, somehow deciphering things a few minutes slower than you.. No, it’s not like the Indiana Jones or Romancing the Stone thing where the baddies simply trail the heroes – they’re showing up independently, on their own, MINUTES after you do! Oh, and as is the case with the other entries, these ruins are so large that there’s NO way that nobody would have accidentally discovered them from the air, as you could probably even see them on a commercial 747 flight they’re so big! The big ship being lost in a cave was a good way around this, however, and I was happy that the giant thing that had been presumably lost to history (to the point that people assumed it never existed) was actually in a place that was legitimately hard to find, and something that virtually nobody would have been able to find by accident. However, these bits aside, the story more than had me engaged, albeit less so when the villains would come onto the scene. This game’s villains aren’t quite as flat as the villain of Uncharted 2 (who was so bland and stock that I don’t even remember if he was even given a backstory), the villains here are just two un-charismatic evil-doers, one a former friend who just decided he hates you for no discernible reason (they give an explanation but it’s super shallow), and a ‘Tough Woman-Registered Trademark’ type character, who beats all of the men in hand-to-hand conflict without ever taking ONE hit; this wouldn’t be so annoying if the characters weren’t already shown, repeatedly, to be highly adept at fisticuffs, themselves able to take out numerous of her own men in similar combat. Worse, I think I was supposed to think of her in the “If you weren’t the enemy I would think you’re awesome” sort of way, but no – she’s intensely unlikable, intensely vicious without any real reason, self-righteous despite having NO cause whatsoever, and the fact that she experiences almost no pain whatsoever just pissed me off. She does kinda do a good thing in the final act of choosing to stop (Not really a spoiler since she’s the star of the next Uncharted game!), but I remember just walking away from this game hating her guts. Now, graphically, this game is pretty stellar, with landscapes somehow BETTER than those of Final Fantasy XV (which set a very high bar), and unlike Uncharted 5, I actually never got lost, despite the size of the open-world segment. The combat is every bit as satifying as before, and actually controls better. The platforming is also perhaps the most enjoyable, as there are numerous methods of doing so, and you don’t ever accidentally aim the L3 stick 1-degree too far down and result in a cheap plummet off a cliff like in the first two games (where it happened constantly). The music is great and the voice acting is as excellent as before. Oh, and this is the longest entry to the franchise, but I didn’t feel like this game’s length was crushing – It did feel a bit longer than it should have been, but I wasn’t begging the game to FINALLY end like Uncharted 2 or Last of Us 2. This isn’t helped by a slightly obtuse and unnecessary Epilogue bit, but since this was the main characters’ swansong, I let it slide, as I did get somewhat attached to these characters, and to discover that they didn’t end up miserable 15 years later is a rare bit of optimistic joy (as was the fact that Nathan & Elena’s daughter had a great relationship with her Uncle and with Sully, happily still alive!). All in all, I won’t be replaying this anytime soon, and there were issues I had with it (like Nadine), but all in all it’s a legitimately great game overall, and highly recommended.

Uncharted 4 is my first game in the series (minus the few times that I got to play multiplayer at a friends), and I feel that even though this the fourth game in the series it does a very good job of introducing players to the series. While also being a great conclusion to the story of Nathan Drake. Levels are semi-open with it being a mix of linear progression and open arenas. The linear part of the levels are made different it how it is progressed through, whether it would be a climbing challenge, a driving section, or a unique game-play section such as trying to the keys to a door off of a server at an auction or a sword fight. The open arena sections of the levels are made to be tackled by how ever the player feels they would like to take on the section. Wanna do it stealthy, go loud or do a mix of the both? Then go ahead, as that is how these sections were designed. If there were a few things that I found annoying, it would be the clunky feeling movement (it was really hard to make precise movements), there was also a weird audio glitch that happened whenever I would face away from an NPC no mater at what distance, but it was also inconsistent. So I found it annoying, and I assume that this is just a PS5 problem as I don’t see anything being reported about this for PS4 users. Overall, great game would recommend for people who are looking for a good single-player third person shooter.

10 Reasons Why ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ Is The PS4’s Best Exclusive Game

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Nick Steinberg (@Nick_Steinberg)

http://screenrant.com/uncharted-4-story-trailer-playstation-4-nathan-drake/ Source: screenrant.com

Move over Ratchet & Clank; the PlayStation 4 has a new killer app! Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been the game that many PS4 owners have been waiting for ever since they picked up the console and thankfully, Naughty Dog’s latest doesn’t disappoint (except in a few areas, but that’s a topic for another day). More than just another entry in the popular Uncharted series, A Thief’s End is destined to be looked back upon as one of the defining games of its generation. Although its status as the PS4’s best game is sure to change eventually (probably when Naughty Dog releases their next game), if you could point to only one game that every PS4 owner needs in their library right now, it would be Uncharted 4. Not convinced yet? Here are 10 reasons why Uncharted 4 is the real deal.

10. Graphics

It actually’s actually embarrassing (and more than a little unfair) how much better Uncharted 4 looks than the vast majority of games, PC or otherwise. Naughty Dog has always been a developer at the cutting edge of graphics technology, but the technical feats they pull off with PS4 hardware here are nothing short of staggering. This is a game that actually looks better the further you get into it; everything from the environmental details to the way characters’ faces are animated is top notch, resulting in a game that you can’t help but feel needs to be put on display for everyone you know (Naughty Dog clearly knew what they were doing when they tossed in a photo mode). Nitpickers will point to the fact that the game only runs at 30 frames per second in story mode, but most players probably won’t even notice because they’ll be too busy getting awestruck by another sweeping vista.

9. Value

Game pricing continues to be a hotly-debated topic, especially among the AAA, big-budget tier. The problem is that the optics on the perceived value of games is all out of whack, as many consumers are much more likely to spend $60 on a game like Fallout 4 that offers hundreds of hours of gameplay than a linear experience that only lasts around eight hours. Uncharted 4 is not a super long game (it will take players anywhere from 12-15 hours to complete on their first playthrough) but it packs in more than enough value for its asking price. The story mode alone gives players plenty of reasons to come back thanks to modifiers and hidden secrets, but even when all of those options have been exhausted, there’s still a full-fledged multiplayer mode to dig into (more on that later). Obviously, everyone’s mileage will vary, but Uncharted 4 absolutely offers enough content to justify its $60 price tag and if you don’t agree, than your perception of what constitutes a worthwhile gaming investment might need to be readjusted.

8. It Wraps Up The Series Perfectly

I’m not going to get into spoiler territory here, but suffice it to say, Uncharted 4’s ending is pitch perfect and closes out Nathan Drake’s story in a very satisfying way. In truth, the game as a whole does a superb job in underscoring that this is the end of Uncharted (or, at least the end for Uncharted games starring Drake). The “one last job” theme that runs through the whole game feels like a natural extension of what the series has been building to ever since the first Uncharted came out in 2007.

More importantly, Uncharted 4 feels like a love letter to the series as a whole, with a variety of callbacks and Easter eggs for longtime fans to discover and enjoy (including one retro throwback that is simply too good to spoil). If you’ve never played an Uncharted game before, please do yourself a favor and don’t start with this one, as Naughty Dog has put way too much time and effort into making it an experience that rewards those who have been paying attention. For series fans though, it’s hard to imagine a better curtain call than this.

7. No Other Game Really Comes Close

It’s true that Uncharted 4 isn’t for everyone and that some people are simply going to like certain genres more, but when looked at in terms of the overall quality of the experience, Uncharted can’t really be beat. Yes, it falls a bit short in the actual gameplay department, as its shooting sections are easily its weakest component, but everything else is top notch. It’s difficult to compare titles like Bloodborne or Infamous: Second Son to Uncharted 4 because they offer such different things, but Uncharted arguably offers the more polished experience. Every game has its flaws, and Uncharted 4 is no exception, but right now, it’s so far ahead of pretty much everything else on the PS4 that it’s fairly easy to overlook these issues.

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/infamous-second-son-day-one-patch-includes-free-six-weeks-of-additional-episodic-content/1100-6418443/ Source: Gamespot

6. It’s A System Seller

The PS4 hardly needs help moving units given that it’s currently outselling its closest competitor, the Xbox One, by a wide margin, but having its first true killer apps certainly can’t hurt things. Sony is clearly confident in Uncharted 4’s ability to sell PlayStations, with the company currently selling Uncharted-branded consoles and peripherals, and it’s not difficult to see why. Despite its success, the PS4 has yet to have a single defining game that makes consumers go “Okay, I need to buy a PS4 just so I can play this.” It may sound crazy, but Uncharted 4 is absolutely a game worth picking up a PS4 for, something that Sony is surely banking on. If there is not a significant uptick in PS4 sales this month it will be a true shock, as there has been no other game as of yet that displays the PS4’s capabilities better than Uncharted 4.

https://www.playstation.com/en-ca/explore/ps4/systems/limited-edition-uncharted-4-ps4-bundle/ Source: playstation.com

5. The Attention To Detail Is Staggering

You can’t move ten feet in Uncharted 4 without running into something interesting, which is a testament to Naughty Dog’s ability to stuff their games full of detail. An early chapter in the game takes place entirely within a residential house, which could have been entirely forgettable, but is actually one of the game’s most memorable moments thanks to the staggering variety of details waiting for players to discover in each room. Naughty Dog gets a lot of credit for their ability to craft great dialogue, but Uncharted 4 proves that they are masters of visual storytelling as well. Something as simple as flipping through a photo album conveys a wealth of information and this is something that permeates the whole experience. It’s easy to plow right through a game like Uncharted 4 but you probably will want to stop and look around on a consistent basis, which is something that not many games achieve.

http://dorkshelf.com/2016/05/10/uncharted-4-a-thiefs-end-review/ Source: dorkshelf.com

4. It Proves There’s Still A Place For Linear, Story-Driven Games

Games like Uncharted 4 aren’t exactly dying out so much as there just isn’t enough of them being made anymore. Many developers are getting away from linear, single player games in favor of multiplayer-focused experiences that can be continuously updated with fresh content (Epic Games recently made headlines for announcing that they may never make another single player game). Now, most developers don’t have the critical cache or financial backing of a company like Naughty Dog, so not everyone is equipped to make whatever game they want, but Uncharted 4 at the very least shows that there is still a place for games of its ilk in today’s market. Not everyone wants to multiplayer games, after all, and as long as developers like Naughty Dog continue to make strong story-driven games such as Uncharted 4 (and people continue to buy them), there will still be a place for them.

http://www.unchartedthegame.com/en-us/media-gallery Source: unchartedthegame.com

3. The Multiplayer Is More Than A Tacked-on Feature

Uncharted 4’s gunplay may not impress all that much in single player, but it’s a different story when it comes to the game’s online multiplayer. Building off the 5-on-5 team dynamic established in previous games in the series, Uncharted 4’s multiplayer introduces a number of tweaks to keep things fresh. Additions like Mysticals (supernatural power-ups) and the ability to call in A.I. sidekicks increase the overall gameplay pace and help dissuade players from camping in cover. Naughty Dog has also taken steps to enhance the multiplayer component’s quality of life, as players all have access to the same weapons and items and won’t be forced to make additional purchases if they don’t want to.

Additionally, all the game’s future maps and modes will be made free to everyone so as not to splinter the community. It may seem silly for praising a game for not asking customers to make additional purchases, but it’s becoming more difficult to find games that don’t ram microtransactions down your throat, so it’s nice to see a game that actually respects its audience.

http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/10/27/uncharted-4-a-thiefs-end-multiplayer-featured-in-screenshots-aplenty/ Source: dualshockers.com

2. Mass Appeal

Much like Rachet & Clank, Uncharted 4 is the kind of game that can appeal to a wide variety of tastes and demographics. If you take a look at the rest of the PS4’s lineup of exclusives, it’s difficult to find anything else that could be considered a “must play” for every console owner. Bloodborne is objectively one of the PS4’s best games, but it’s one that can only be recommended to a certain niche of players due to its high difficulty level and mature themes. Providing they have prior knowledge of the series, Uncharted 4 is a game that can be recommended to pretty much anyone who owns a PS4, as its pulpy adventure story and multiple difficulty levels allow for players of all skill levels to enjoy Naughty Dog’s finely-crafted work.

http://www.polygon.com/2015/6/23/8832707/uncharted-4-e3-2015-preview Source: polygon.com

1. Storytelling

While Uncharted 4 may not reach the storytelling heights of Naughty Dog’s last title, The Last of Us, it’s a definite step up from previous entries in the series and absolutely one of the best story-driven games of this generation. Approaching metafictional levels at times, Uncharted 4’s story plays out almost like an indictment of Nathan Drake’s previous stories, asking what life might actually be like for him after he quits the adventuring game. The story isn’t afraid to depict Drake as a supremely flawed human being, but these flaws are put in check with genuine displays of heroism and humanity. The real joy though is seeing Nate play off the game’s supporting cast, with the relationship between him and his older brother Sam taking center stage. Taken to its basest form, Uncharted 4’s story really doesn’t do anything particularly novel, but its greatness lies in all of its smaller moments, which add up to an immensely satisfying whole.

It also features one of the best epilogues I’ve ever seen.

Rumor: Albert Wesker will appear in the remake of Resident Evil 4

Uncharted 4 voted «Best showcase of PS4»

“Uncharted 4 is a true breakthrough in real-time console rendering, ,” the journalist noted. — The Naughty Dog Engine has proved to be an efficient and powerful engine, [games based on which] are far superior to many other projects of this generation. The developers have clearly tried to surpass [everything created before them], and this work has brought results: Uncharted 4 can safely be called the best in terms of graphics console game of all that we have ever tested. Some games (such as Star Wars: Battlefront) have approached this level in certain aspects, but in terms of overall quality, Naughty Dog’s latest game is second to none.» nine0144

Linnemann emphasized that the advanced technology in Uncharted 4 is needed not only to create an impressive picture, as in The Order: 1886 or Ryse: Son of Rome. According to him, with their help, the developers managed to «enrich the gameplay» of , and this is another rare advantage of the game.

Thanks to high-quality anti-aliasing, vegetation remains clear even at a great distance

According to the article, Uncharted 4 surpasses all console games that were tested under the Digital Foundry rubric in terms of image quality, as stated in the article. Thanks to the advanced technique of temporal smoothing, the developers managed to completely rid the picture of flicker and achieve incredible clarity (the latter is especially noticeable on the example of the vegetation and details of Nathan Drake’s weapons). The journalists were also delighted with the study of character models, facial animation (850 possible expressions instead of 120 in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception) and hair physics, which, according to Linneman, is somewhat superior to TressFX. nine0003

Journalists called underwater locations a rare successful example of using the effect of chromatic aberration

One of the most important advantages of the game, Linneman called the cutscenes on the engine: this time they are rendered in real time, while in previous games pre-recorded video files were used. Journalists were also impressed by the weather effects: the wind changes direction and strength; grass, leaves and clothing elements of the characters react to environmental conditions; dirt accumulates on Nathan’s clothes, which water can wash away. In terms of AI, satellites are superior to Ellie from The Last of Us; Enemies have also become smarter (they have learned to patrol large areas and gather in groups). nine0003

A scene that simultaneously demonstrates high-quality screen-space reflections and crowd simulation. According to a Eurogamer journalist, it surpasses that shown in the infamous Watch Dogs trailer

Among other advantages, Linneman highlighted the high-quality technique for drawing light rays, the effect of reflections in screen space, an incredible variety of textures and objects, and improved water simulation since Uncharted 3 .

Rain in Uncharted 4 was named by journalists as one of the best in video games

However, not without a fly in the ointment.
