A Space for the Unbound is Mojiken and Toge Productions at their best. If you weren’t paying attention to this powerhouse team yet, correct this mistake now with the literal masterpiece that is A Space for the Unbound. It proudly stands shoulder to shoulder with the likes of To the Moon and Rakuen with its impeccably unique flair, ready to laugh with players during the high moments and cry with them in its lows. If you have a fondness for emotional narrative-driven games and have been even remotely curious about A Space for the Unbound, don’t wait a moment longer and get this game (and some tissues).

A Space for the Unbound only looks pixels deep, but it is a masterpiece for its breadth of storytelling, its authenticity, and how it tackles difficult topics, from cultural expectations, to mental health. As the game ended, it left me with a beautiful feeling of closure, accompanied by a hankering for cherry-chocolate-flavoured cake and Indonesian food.

Through the lens of magical realism, A Space for the Unbound takes a whimsical yet mature look at what happens when a community is under unexplainable distress. It shows you the effect one small action or one person can have. Factor in a beautiful art style, excellent storytelling, and a gorgeous soundtrack, and there’s no denying the superb quality of the content. You spend the entirety of the game making an impact on others, and I can easily say A Space for the Unbound has left a memorable and profound effect on me for years to come.

A Space For The Unbound is a powerful narrative adventure title. Its story is a strong driving force thanks to its characters and overarching mystery, and although its gameplay is relatively straightforward the Space Dive mechanic freshens things up nicely. Its awkward pacing does hinder it somewhat, but those that can forgive some clumsy moments will find a lot to love.

I finished the game in about 12 hours. The progression starts slowly with easy and interesting puzzles. Until the last chapter, where it really pays off and the story is so unexpectedly deep that I couldn’t hold back my tears toward the end. Despite the repetitive combat mechanics, this game kept me going with its beautiful pixel art and mesmerizing music. In the end, A Space For The Unbound is the kind of game I will never forget.… Expand

Top 10 games of 2022 — the most disastrous year in the gaming industry
This content was written by a site visitor and has been rewarded.
For many of us, PC games have become a parallel reality where you can go for a few hours, disconnecting from everyday worries and hardships. This has become especially important in recent years, when each next year turns out to be harder than the previous one. But, starting to prepare material and look for the best games, analyzing the ratings of gamers and reviews of gaming publications, you understand that 2022 has become one of the worst years in the history of the gaming industry and offers us a very meager set of games that can be called the best.
In order to understand the seriousness of the problem, in 2022 not even a single high-quality strategy was released with high ratings from players and gaming publications. The strategies Songs of Conquest and Farthest Frontier have not left early access and we cannot add them to the list of games in 2022, Victoria 3 and Total War: WARHAMMER III did not live up to expectations, and Expeditions: Rome, which was released almost a year ago, in January, good, but much more tactics than strategy.
recommendations
There are no good racing games, rally games or driving simulations worth mentioning in 2022, and RPGs can be counted on the fingers of one hand. The meager selection of games in 2022 will be clearly visible if you compare it with any year from the past. Let’s not take the zero years, when dozens of hits were released during the year, but compare it, for example, with 2017, which was also considered not very fruitful for hit games.
Released in 2017: Prey, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, NieR: Automata, Hollow Knight, The Evil Within 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds, Call of Duty: WWII, Sniper Elite 4, Torment: Tides of Numenera, ARK: Survival Evolved, Total War: WARHAMMER II, DiRT 4, Battle Brothers and SpellForce 3. And this, of course, is not a complete list of quality games of that year. But on this, let’s end with criticism and see which games in 2022 can be called the best.
Elden Ring
Elden Ring is the only game in 2022 that achieves a 9 out of 10 or even 10 out of 10. Action/RPG set in a huge open world, with challenging combat based on the mechanics of the Dark Souls game series. You will have access to a huge number of different weapons, armor, items and spells — much more than in the games of the Souls series. And also about a hundred skills that will allow you to create a game character to your liking. Elden Ring is simply a must-play and claims to be the best RPG in recent years.
Stray
The stray cat simulation game Stray was an unexpected success. We don’t get a chance to play for any animal very often, and we’ll be able to start throwing things off tables, damaging furniture and hide and seek in boxes for the first time. Stray is a quest, a platformer, a puzzle, and a stealth at the same time, and this combination of genres is played very easily, often reminiscent of meditation. And the low entry threshold due to the simplicity of the gameplay attracted a lot of people to the game who had never played computer games at all.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
A dark action-adventure stealth game set in medieval France has a sequel that’s just as good as the original. The graphics component has noticeably improved and the hordes of rats, the plague and the Inquisition, which the young heroes of the game will have to face again, have not gone away.
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
The unique open-world Action/RPG is finally out of early access and offers the player an unprecedented breadth of action. In Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, you can engage in mercenary, trade, become a respected lord, gather your squad and fight enemies on horseback and conquer vast territories. The game is unique and has an infinite number of scenarios that will unwind depending on your choice and manner of passing.
Expeditions: Rome
Expeditions: Rome — turn-based tactics with elements of strategy and role-playing game that allows you to raise an army, conquer lands and unravel the tangle of political intrigues in the times of ancient Rome, exploring the territories of North Africa, Greece and Italy. The game is remembered for its excellent storyline, which will delight connoisseurs of the aesthetics of ancient Rome.
Vampire Survivors
An ingenious indie project with retro graphics in which you have to practice survival and destroy waves of enemies — bats, skeletons, mummies and other monsters that constantly surround the player using automatic weapons. When they are destroyed, valuable gems often drop out, which can be spent to increase the character’s level.
Cult of the Lamb
A fun rogue-like and action-adventure game in which you’ll be in the skin of a possessed lamb and fight heretics with weapons and curses. In addition, you will have to master the management of a cult settlement, which gives the pumping of the hero’s combat characteristics.
Evil West
Od-school-style vampire western with simple linear levels will give you hours of excitement and adrenaline, like in the good old shooters of the early zero years. Every fight in Evil West turns into a bloody dismemberment fight where you can tear off and shoot off the limbs of enemies, not allowing them to move and finishing them with spectacular blows.
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is a turn-based tactical game with rich RPG elements and an interesting and dark fantasy story that will take you back to the days of the Knights of the Round Table and fight against a variety of enemies, carefully considering each move.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human
Huge open world, great graphics, immersive story, parkour and lots of zombies is the recipe for a hit, but Dying Light 2 Stay Human falls short of that title a little and remains a solid mid-range game that can be put at the end of our collection. The game was not allowed to become a hit — weak AI, a rather boring open world and technical flaws, but still it is worth spending 20-30 hours in Dying Light 2 Stay Human, the first of which will be impressive.
Results
This is the top ten games we have. Of course, not all readers will agree with such an arrangement of games, and some will not see the game they like here, so you should read about it in the comments so as not to miss the game that will become a hit just for you. Games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, The Callisto Protocol, ELEX II, Need for Speed Unbound, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Scorn, Overwatch 2, and for sure these games will find their player.
But there was one positive moment in 2022 that should not be forgotten. Video cards have finally appeared on store shelves and at very low prices. And if you buy a GeForce RTX 3050 Palit Dual, ASUS Dual Radeon RX 6600 or GeForce RTX 3060 Palit Dual OC in Regard, you can comfortably play all the new products of 2022.
