OnOn the pitch, critical gameplay fundamentals have been enhanced to ensure that FIFA Soccer 10 mirrors real-world soccer, providing more sophisticated ball control, and physical interaction between players. In addition, players now move, behave and position themselves more realistically. On attack, players analyze space more effectively, curve their runs in an attempt to stay onside, create passing lanes naturally, and drive for more variety in attacking options. On defense, new concepts like position priority enable defenders to multitask so dangerous spaces left open by teammates out of position are covered. Plus, slide tackle targeting, press marking, and better-urgency clearance logic provide new options that make defending a tactical skill in FIFA Soccer 10. In goal, a myriad of improvements and refinements to goalkeeper intelligence result in a more responsive and powerful rushing system and ultra-realistic saves. Better balance on lofted through balls, improved goalkeeper intelligence, more realistic shooting mechanics with less shots hitting the goal posts, a practice arena to perfect skills, and a more immersive soccer experience through continuous play and quick free kicks are just a few of the issues raised by fans and addressed in FIFA Soccer 10. Three new innovations revealed today at E3 have been developed to change the player control experience in FIFA Soccer 10. The first-ever true 360 degree dribbling system gives players finer control of the ball, enabling them to find spaces between defenders that previously were not possible. Using an all-new animation technology, skilled dribblers now have the ability to face the defender and use highly responsive lateral dribbling to skip past him. An innovative concept called Freedom in Physical Play enables players to perform wider dribble touches and new collision sharing creates a varied, less predictable, and extended fight for possession between the dribbler and a defender.
FIFA Soccer 10 also features a deeper iteration of the ever-popular Manager Mode with more than 50 major improvements, including new match realism, realistic player transfers based on multiple decision points, and true-to-life player growth curves. [Electronic Arts]… Expand

Football fans who go to sleep with their laces on and foam at the mouth at the prospect of creating a virtual team … should tattoo this title’s release on their hand and sell their copy of FIFA 09 to the blind kid around the block. [Nov 2009, p.74]

In a way, the main reason I’m somewhat disappointed is that developer EA Canada has the tough part down: the gameplay and controls. But soccer is about so much more than that — it’s about patriotism, atmosphere, and passion. For the inevitable World Cup follow-up, I’d really like to see those elements shine through — and it wouldn’t hurt to not ship with so many bugs, either.

What a shame that they’ve decided to mar each successive title with slowed-down, sloppy physics and absurd momentum swings in the players nauseatingly inhuman motion. If you ever want to feel everything strain from the neck up as you apoplectically stare at the picasso-esque flailing of limbs in four different directions while your player decides to reposition himself several times around the ball before settling on the proper vector to carry out the controller’s long issued command of, «move this way —>» buy a any fifa game made after 2010.
In all seriousness they should just re release this game in 2017 with updated rosters. No need to polish the graphics. They might accidentally replace the ball with a hockey puck if they did that.
P.S. Not that this matters or anything but since 2010, every FIFA game has been too unpredictable to build even a slight iota of skill around. On top of that, they look bad. The players move awkwardly These games are to be watched, not played. If I wanted to watch a shiny claymation retard not do what I’m expecting it to based on buttons I so pompously imagined would render a result on screen, I’d watch dispicable me and button mash for two hours- O except I might pause or rewind or something. Too much certainty. Fifa 2017 and beyond!!! MSRP INFINITY!!!!! SLEEP WELL DEVS! PS Tell me where I can get some blow because I know you have to be doing something in your offices…… Expand

The game really feels like the real thing, you can dribble pretty much anywhere to your hearts content, create set pieces (which is a feature that has been wanted ever since my first memories), the online is accessible and simply fantastic; the result of the whole package is one of the most realistic simulations of the beautiful game. A must have for any football/soccer fan.… Expand

I was initially pretty skeptical about Braid, and it took me some time to get past the game’s severe melancholy. I eventually found the game’s story and the way it plays against the gameplay to be academically interesting, and the game’s final payoff is terrific, but it’s the ingenuity of the mechanics that makes Braid so engaging.

That, however, is it’s only gimmik, and it’s not an amazeing one. The story is interesting, but not very engageing. There is zero replay value. It doesn’t last as long as it’s price tag would lead you to believe. It’s mostly sold off as being an artistic, vibrant piece, but the PS3 has titles like Flower, Linger in Shadows and Pixeljunk Eden, all for the same, or cheaper, cost. If it had come out on the PSN a year ago, it’d be great, but there’s other, better sources for artistic games now.… Expand
