The Wolf Among Us 2 release date will grant fans the long-awaited sequel to Telltale Games’ cult classic. Nearly 10 years after the release of The Wolf Among Us in October of 2013, a sequel is finally on its way. Here’s everything fans need to know about The Wolf Among Us 2, including the upcoming game’s release date, trailers, gameplay, and more.

While a specific release date has not been locked down, we do know that The Wolf Among Us 2 is supposed to launch in 2023. If it comes out in October or later, that would place The Wolf Among Us 2 release date a full decade after the release of the first episode of The Wolf Among Us.
Like its predecessor, The Wolf Among Us 2 will be released as a series of episodes rather than a singular game. However, the sequel’s episodes are all being developed at the same time. This differs from The Wolf Among Us, where the episodes were developed one at a time.
The Wolf Among Us 2 Trailers
While a second season of The Wolf Among Us was announced in 2017 and slated to launch in 2018, the dissolution of the original Telltale Games prevented this from coming to fruition. But, the revival of the studio through LCG Entertainment brought The Wolf Among Us and other Telltale Games intellectual properties back to life.
Following this revival, The Wolf Among Us 2 was announced through a brief trailer at The Game Awards in December of 2019. In the announcement trailer, Snow White commends Bigby Wolf for changing his brutish and monstrous ways before asking him to go back to his old ways. The trailer ends with Bigby assuring Snow that she can count on him.
More than two years later, a more in-depth trailer for The Wolf Among Us 2 was finally released in February of 2022. In it, Bigby attends a group therapy session where he vaguely describes an altercation he got into with a troublesome trio at the Good Sleep Hotel. Meanwhile, the viewers see the altercation take place in full detail.
After setting the Scarecrow on fire and taking a beating from the Tin Man, Bigby then transforms into his Big Bad Wolf form.
The trailer concludes by revealing the release window and platforms for The Wolf Among Us 2.

No specific details have been announced when it comes to the gameplay in The Wolf Among Us 2. Nevertheless, fans can likely expect to see many of the same gameplay mechanics that defined the first game in the series.
The Wolf Among Us is an adventure game stylized in a similar manner to a graphic novel. In it, players control Bigby as he investigates murders, explores environments, collects items, picks his path through branching dialogue options, and engages in quick time events. Fans of the series can likely look forward to a similar gameplay experience in The Wolf Among Us 2.

Naturally, Bigby Wolf and Snow White will both return in The Wolf Among Us 2, even retaining the same voice actors from The Wolf Among Us.
The trailers give us some insight into Bigby’s inner conflict, as he attends a therapy session to address his anger while also promising Snow to revert to his former monstrous ways.
We also know from the second trailer that the murderous Dorothy Gale will play some role in The Wolf Among Us 2, alongside the Tin Man and the Scarecrow, who appear to be her henchmen. Dorothy comes off as cool and calculated, casually watching television while she lets the Tin Man and the Scarecrow do all the fighting when Bigby arrives at their hotel room.

Little has been explicitly revealed about the story of The Wolf Among Us 2. Based on the trailers, it seems Bigby’s inner conflict could play an important role in the story, along with his external conflict with Dorothy and her crew.
In addition, we have a general idea of where The Wolf Among Us 2 fits in the timeline of the series.
It is a true sequel to the first game in the series, meaning its events happen after the events of The Wolf Among Us in 1986. However, The Wolf Among Us 2 will still be a prequel to the Fables comics that inspired the video game series. As a result, its events will occur sometime before the Fables plot line begins in the 2000s.

It’s been quite a rollercoaster ride for anyone who’s a fan of the game studio Telltale Games. Most people know the studio for creating narrative-based games of popular franchises. Their most famous video game was The Walking Dead, which featured characters like Clementine. Additionally, they’ve also made games for several other big franchises. For example, Batman, Guardians of the Galaxy, Game of Thrones, and Minecraft. However, in 2018, the studio faced numerous difficulties, which eventually led to the studio closing. As a result, the studio’s licensed games were stuck in limbo, with Skybound Games eventually releasing The Walking Dead: The Final Season in 2018.
However, several other titles haven’t been released, including The Wolf Among Us 2, disappointing fans. Until now!
In 2019, the heads of the studio began negotiating with Sherwood Partners. Eventually, this led to LCG Entertainment acquiring several Telltale Assets. Later that year, LCG announced they would relaunch Telltale Games, with Jamie Ottilie as the CEO and Brian Waddle as CRO. Thankfully, they confirmed that the relaunched game studio would re-release old titles. Additionally, they also confirmed that they’d be working on making new games with games under the Telltale brand. Sadly, the licenses for The Walking Dead and Stranger Things returned to the original owners, so we won’t get new games in these franchises. However, Telltale confirmed that they still had the license for Batman and The Wolf Among Us. During the Game Awards of the same year, Telltale announced that The Wolf Among Us 2 was coming.
Also, they re-released Batman: The Telltale Series. Unfortunately, it’s been pretty quiet on the new game front since then.
However, after this year’s Game Awards, Telltale released a statement about the upcoming game. Here’s what they said.

Although Telltale appeared at the 2022 Game Awards, they didn’t reveal any new information about The Wolf Among Us 2. Even so, they released a statement on Twitter shortly after, discussing the game’s development.

As the dev teams work on both The Expanse: A Telltale Series and The Wolf Among Us 2, we’ve been keeping our promise to you here in social. We’ve been as transparent as possible. We’ve shared news as the games get made.

We took you deeper into The Expanse: A Telltale Series, showing some of the new gameplay types you can look forward to when the game ships next summer.
We know what you’re thinking: “Does this mean that you’re going to show more about each soon?” The answer, for now, is no. As much as we want to share more, every trailer made or big gameplay reveal takes time away from working on the games you want to play.
While we are a small team, we are still on track for delivering the first experiences as the new Telltale next year. In fact, we are planning on some fun stuff to celebrate our return in 2023.
Like you, we can’t wait, either!
Clearly, The Wolf Among Us 2 is a huge priority for the studio and its other title. Although it was disappointing that we didn’t get any more news about this game, we’re glad they decided to release a statement. It seems that the studio developers are hard at work.

Apparently, they’ll share more information about the game as they get closer to release.
Unfortunately, they also made it clear we shouldn’t expect anything “soon,” meaning that the game is still way off from release. However, they did mention their “return in 2023,” so we can expect to get something next year. It may not be The Wolf Among Us 2, but Telltale will likely release something!
Currently, the only titles we know about are The Wolf Among Us 2 and The Expanse. However, Telltale may have some other surprise franchises. Naturally, we can expect to hear more about them in the coming months. 2023 will be a big year!

February 9 at 21:00 Moscow time, Telltale studio held a screening of the sequel to The Wolf Among Us. On it, the developers shared details about the adventure and presented the first trailer recorded on the game engine.

At the beginning of the broadcast, the developers showed the first trailer for The Wolf Among Us 2. In it, Bigby Wolf visits a psychotherapist and recalls during an anger management session about one of his cases related to the characters of the Wizard of Oz: the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman.
What was said about the game
- The Wolf Among Us 2 will release in 2023 on PC (EGS) and two generations of consoles.
- The events of the game will unfold approximately six months after the first part — before the start of the events of the comic book of the same name.
- By the events of Part 2, Bigby has been removed from her position as sheriff of Fabletown due to anger control issues. At the same time, a conflict occurred between the Wolf and Snow White, who is acting deputy mayor.
- The trailer showed some of the events of the first episode of The Wolf Among Us 2, without affecting subsequent parts. The developers emphasized that the episodes of the sequel will be released more often compared to the original game — once every few weeks, and not months, as it was before.
- One of the new key characters in the game will be NYPD detective Fellion, whom Bigby will meet at a difficult time in his life.

- Some of the characters from the first part will appear in the second, including Bufkin the winged monkey.
- Voice actors Adam Harrington and Erin Yvette will reprise their roles as Bigsby and Snow White.

- In terms of gameplay, The Wolf Among Us 2 will not differ much from the original game, but some new mechanics will still appear.
- The sequel will be larger than the first part, and players will be able to visit more different locations in New York and meet more characters.
- As of February 2022, the game is under active development, in particular, the authors are engaged in motion capture of actors.
- Telltale Studios was helped by the transition to an adapted version of the Unreal Engine, which «greatly facilitated» the creation of the game. At the same time, the authors noted that in terms of graphics, the sequel will not radically differ from the first part.
- The Wolf Among Us 2 will have five episodes.
- The developers plan to complete all episodes before the release of the first.

The Wolf Among Us 2 is a full-fledged continuation of one of the most successful games from Telltale Games in terms of recognition by the players and the press. It was already in development, but was covered after the studio closed. The first season was released on mobile and is still available in stores. The official announcement of the second part concerns only PC and consoles, and there is no date yet, but we will still wait for it on iOS and Android.
