How to Buy Tfue’s Keyboard Build
Fortnite as a game has fierce proponents as well as opponents, but no matter how you feel about the game it is no secret that Turner “Tfue” Tenney knows how to build a great looking keyboard. We have been getting many questions about his keyboards and a lot of requests to make a guide on how to recreate some of Tfue’s keyboards, so we’ve been dedicating some of our time to check out what keyboard parts Tfue likes to use and buy to make his creations. Tfue’s keyboards were shown on twitter here and here.
In this guide we’ll go over what brands of keyboard he likes to use, as well as go in-depth on the keycaps, switches, and all of that. We’re going to give you detailed instructions on how to build Tfue’s keyboard for yourself. If you were wondering how to buy Tfue’s keyboard we got you covered as well. Modding a keyboard isn’t that difficult (at least not when it comes to the basics, such as switching out the keycaps) so don’t be afraid to do some experimentation yourself. If you have any questions you can obviously always reach out.
You’ll only need three things to begin modding your own keyboard: a mechanical keyboard with a standard bottom row, replacement keycaps. Tfue’s keycaps are the Tai-Hao Rubber Gaming in different colors (but more on that later in the guide obviously). A keycap puller isn’t technically necessary but it will cost you next to nothing and it’ll make the whole process a lot easier so we do recommend getting one. Most keyboards also have one in their packaging, so it’s worth checking the box of your keyboard if you don’t have a keycap puller handy.

Tfue’s new keyboard is a custom build.
The circuit board (PCB) is the DZ60RGB-ANSI (60%) with built-in per key RGB backlighting. GMK Screw-In stabilizers reduce noise output from the Backspace, Enter, Shift and Space bar keys. The KBDFans 5 60% Aluminium Case in the color Cyan supports the MKUltra foam sheet (60% ANSI) as well as the Polycarbonate Plate and the MKUltra foam sheet (DZ60RGB) lay on top of each other in the listed order. Two foam sheets dampen noise from keypresses greatly. Hako Royal Clears switches use 65G Gold Springs instead of the stock springs which make them sound distinctly tactile. The key cap set is the Tai-Hao Miami Lights which covers all the key caps except the Enter key, Escape key and Space bar. Those are custom-made Tfue design key caps. A 550 Cotton Candy Coil leads into an Aviation Connector to act as a USB cable.

Tfue’s new keyboard is the Ducky Miya Pro Rainbow with MX Silver Switches.
Tfue replaced the default (white) keycaps with a purple Tai-Hao Rubber Gaming Keycap set. Cherry MX 90A O-Rings support the keycaps.

The base of Tfue’s keyboard is the unreleased Ducky One 2 Mini RGB White on White with Cherry MX Brown switches. Tfue uses the Tai-Hao Rubber Gaming Neon Pink keycaps the keys: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Q, W, E, R, A, S, D, F, Y, X, C, V. The mentioned Tai-Hao Neon Pink keycaps are supported by Cherry MX Rubber 60A O-Rings. O-Rings for keyboards are used to cushion the landing of the switch and act as sound dampeners.

The base of this keyboard is the Ducky One 2 Mini RGB with Cherry MX Brown switches. Tfue uses the Tai-Hao Rubber Gaming keycaps Neon blue for the keys: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Q, W, E, R, A, S, D and F. Plus the original keycaps of the keys: Y, X, C, V, 7, 8, 9 and 0 are replaced by the Tai-Hao Rubber Gaming Neon Pink keycaps. The Escape, Backspace and Enter keys are swapped withthe PBT Double-Shot Colorful Carmine Red keycaps. The spacebar of this keyboard is custom made exclusively for Tfue it isn’t available anywhere. Additionally the rest of the keycaps are from the MK X Ducky “Good in Blue” Keycap Set. Cherry MX Rubber 60A O-Rings dampen the overall clicking sounds of the of the key switches.

Was hat sich der Twitch-Streamer anfertigen lassen? Der Streamer Turner “Tfue” Tenney hat sich eine Tastatur explizit für Fortnite anfertigen lassen.
Tfue hat Taeha Types beauftragt, eine Costum-Tastatur für ihn zu erstellen. Der ist ein begeisterter Technik-Freak, der sich auf Tastaturen spezialisiert hat. Nun baut er verschiedene Tastaturen je nach den Bedürfnissen seiner Kunden.

Die erstellte Tastatur ist viel kleiner als die Standard-Tastaturen, die man sonst kennt. Auch die Farbe wurde extra angepasst und das Logo von Tfue eingraviert.
Warum ist die Tastatur so teuer? Für eine Custom-Tastatur greift der Twitch-Streamer Tfue tief in die Tasche. Sie kostet nämlich 3.500$ und ist somit eine große Investition.
Man fragt sich, warum eine einzelne Tastatur so teuer ist. Die Antwort ist aber recht simpel, denn der Preis entsteht aus: Herstellungskosten, personalisierte Färbung und Custom-Teilen.
Warum investiert Tfue in eine 3.500$ Tastatur?
Tfue zählt zu den erfolgreichsten und bekanntesten Profis in Fortnite. Außerdem war er 2019 der größte Streamer auf Twitch. Trotzdem lief der World Cup in Fortnite echt mies für den Streamer.
Will er also mit der speziell, angefertigten Tastatur noch besser im Spiel werden und sich ganz an die Spitze kämpfen? Als Profi-Spieler lohnt es sich bekanntlich, in ein gutes Setup zu investieren.
Will Tfue noch relevanter in Fortnite werden?
Obwohl der Twitch-Streamer sehr erfolgreich ist, scheint er noch nicht zufrieden zu sein. Er scheint ziemlich ehrgeizig und möchte wohl noch mehr erreichen denn:
- Er wird nicht als großer E-Sportler geehrt, obwohl er sehr gut Fortnite spielt
- Er erhielt auch keine Auszeichnung als Streamer oder Content Creator, obwohl er so erfolgreich auf Twitch ist
- Ninja hat vor ihm einen eigenen Skin in Fortnite erhalten
Wahrscheinlich möchte er mit dieser personalisierten Tastatur noch besser in Fortnite werden, damit er in allen Bereichen des Spiels der relevanteste Spieler wird.
