Amazon’s Prime Early Access sale is now live and we’ve already started seeing lots of good deals on top PC components including CPUs, RAM, SSDs, and even PC cases. Amazon will be pumping out a ton of PC upgrade deals over the next two days, so we decided to highlight some of the best ones for you. In this post, we’ll be collating the best deals you can find on AMD Ryzen desktop CPUs. We don’t have any deals on the new Ryzen 7000 CPUs that have just launched, but there are a lot of  Zen 3 chips at compelling prices. Let’s dive in!

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

The Ryzen 9 5900X is now available to purchase for just $335 on Amazon, which is an excellent price. This is the cheapest price we’ve seen for this particular processor in quite some time, so it may be worth considering for your next upgrade. The Ryzen 9 5900X was one of the top chips in our best AMD CPUs collection until recently. This was the chip to beat for the Zen 3 generation and it still performs admirably for gaming, content creation, and other workloads. And the fact that it sits in an AM4 socket makes it a better upgrade for those coming from an older AM4 CPU.

    AMD Ryzen 7 5800X

AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X is still one of our top picks. This particular CPU comes with 8 cores and 16 threads for an impressive single and multi-core performance. This makes it a solid choice for gaming as well as content creation workloads. Not to mention, the Ryzen 7 5800X is also a great chip for streamers who’re looking to share their gameplay. It’s down to just $270 right now which is an excellent price for what we think is a solid mainstream CPU in 2022.

      AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

Despite the arrival of the new Ryen 5 7600X, we think the Zen 3-based Ryzen 5 5600X still sits in a comfortable spot. And the fact that it drops right into older motherboards with an AM4 socket and comes with a CPU cooler makes it a solid choice for economical shoppers. This hexa-core CPU is now available to purchase for just $165, making it a fantastic choice for those looking to build a reliable gaming PC on a budget.

        AMD Ryzen 5 5600G

Lastly, we have the Ryzen 5 5600G rounding off our list of the best AMD chips to check out right now. This is one of the best APUs on the market, and it offers an incredible price-to-performance ratio. The Ryzen 5 5600G is paired with the Radeon Vega graphics engine and it also drops right into the existing motherboards with an AM4 socket.  Amazon is offering 50% off on the Ryzen 5 5600G right now, meaning it’s down to just $130.

Those are some of the best AMD CPU deals we could spot on Amazon during the ongoing Prime Early Access sale. We’ll continue to comb through the listings to see if we can add more items to this collection, so stay tuned.

\n Only has one USB Header on the MoBo…..won’t work with Cases with USB A and C on the front…..Other than that, and the lack of Wifi, this thing has been flawless for the last 3 months….5800X3d build, and it came with the lastest bios, so no flashing required YMMV\n

AMD Introduces Ryzen 5000 Mobile Processors

3DNews Technologies and IT market. News laptops and netbooks AMD introduced mobile processors Ryz…

            01/12/2021 [20:11],

            Ilya Gavrichenkov

As expected, at CES 2021, AMD today announced the new Ryzen 5000 mobile processor family. It includes 10 Zen 3 processors, codenamed Cezanne, as well as three Zen 2 architecture chip models known codename Lucienne (Renoir Refresh).

The Ryzen 5000 processors introduced today fall into two classes. The first class is H-processors, which are built on the new Zen 3 architecture, have up to 8 processing cores and are equipped with a Vega graphics core. The thermal package of such processors is set at 35 or 45 W and they are primarily aimed at gaming laptop models with discrete graphics. The second class are energy-efficient U-processors, which are based on the Zen 3 and Zen 2 architectures (depending on the model), usually have fewer cores and lower operating frequencies, and are also enclosed in a 15-watt thermal package. 9Ol000 (W)

            Architecture
            AMD Ryzen 9 5980HX 8C/16T Up to 4.8 / 3.3 16 45+ Zen 3
            AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS 8C/16T Up to 4.8 / 3.0 16 35 Zen 3
            AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX 8C/16T Up to 4. 6 / 3.3 16 45+ Zen 3
            AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS 8C/16T Up to 4.6 / 3.0 16 35 Zen 3
            AMD Ryzen 7 5800H 8C/16T Up to 4.4 / 3.2 16 45 Zen 3
            AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS 8C/16T Up to 4.4 / 2.8 16 35 Zen 3
            AMD Ryzen 5 5600H 6C/12T Up to 4.2 / 3.3 16 45 Zen 3
            AMD Ryzen 5 5600HS 6C/12T Up to 4.2 / 3.0 16 35 Zen 3

HX processors with 45+W TDP are designed for high performance gaming laptops, while HS processors with reduced TDP to 35W deliver H-series performance in a thinner and lighter package.

All Cezanne mobile processors, like their predecessors, are based on a monolithic 7nm die with 16MB L3 cache. The graphics core remains old, it’s the same Vega with eight CUs that was used in Renoir (Ryzen 4000) mobile processors. Thus, the increase in performance in this case will be mainly provided by the introduction of the Zen 3 architecture, doubling the L3 cache and a rather noticeable increase in the maximum clock frequencies.

Speaking of performance, AMD noted that the new flagship Ryzen 9 5980HX processor is able to improve single-threaded performance by 23% and multi-threaded performance by 17% compared to the previous generation Ryzen 4900H, allowing it to be used both in games and for creating content.

The power efficient Ryzen 5000 U-series lineup is as follows:

Model Cores/Threads Max/Base Clock (GHz) L3 Cache (MB) TDP (W) Architecture
            AMD Ryzen 7 5800U 8C/16T Up to 4. 4 / 1.9 16 15 Zen 3
            AMD Ryzen 7 5700U 8C/16T Up to 4.3 /1.8 8 15 Zen 2
            AMD Ryzen 5 5600U 6C/12T Up to 4.2 / 2.3 16 15 Zen 3
            AMD Ryzen 5 5500U 6C/12T Up to 4.0 / 2.1 8 15 Zen 2
            AMD Ryzen 3 5300U 4C/8T Up to 3.8 / 2.6 4 15 Zen 2

Many of the new 15W U-series models look like a rather strange mixture of Cezanne on the Zen 3 architecture and Lucienne (Renoir Refresh) on the Zen 2 architecture, which differ markedly in characteristics, such as size L3 cache. In fact, we are talking about only two really new models — the eight-core Ryzen 7 5800U and the six-core Ryzen 5 5600U, while the rest of the processors are representatives of the Ryzen 4000 series slightly improved in frequency. 0007

It’s no surprise that when talking about the advantages of the Ryzen 5000 U-series, AMD is focusing on the Ryzen 7 5800U with Cezanne design. For such a CPU, compared to the old Ryzen 7 4800U, a 16 percent improvement in single-threaded performance and a 14 percent increase in multi-threaded performance are promised.

Ryzen 4000 processor-based mobile computers have become very common in the past year. According to Mercury Research, by the end of the third quarter, AMD’s share of the notebook processor market reached 20.2%, and this was an all-time high for the company. The new Ryzen 5000 processors should strengthen AMD’s position by introducing a more advanced architecture and increasing performance and efficiency. However, this year the competition in the laptop market will be more fierce, because interesting offers have appeared from Intel. The 35W quad-core 35W Tiger Lake gaming laptops were unveiled yesterday, and Tiger Lake is expected to come out with eight cores by the end of the first quarter.

New laptops powered by Ryzen 5000 mobile processors will be available from major manufacturers including Asus, HP and Lenovo during the first quarter of 2021. And AMD expects to launch a wide range of more than 150 consumer and commercial laptops based on Ryzen 5000 mobile processors throughout 2021. Also in the first half of 2021, Ryzen PRO 5000 mobile processors with additional security features aimed at enterprise laptop models should be released.

impressions of the new line of processors / Sudo Null IT News

Tonight, AMD introduced a new family of Ryzen 7000 processors. We studied the benchmarks and now we are thinking which processor to take for testing in the Selectel Lab. What would you choose? Voting is under the cut.

Main differences from the previous generation Ryzen 5000:

            • Zen 4 architecture, dies with 5nm cores instead of 7nm,
            • new Socket AM5 with support for DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0 interface,
            • integrated graphics on all processors in the line,
            • significant increase in base and maximum frequencies,
            • L2 cache increase,
            • improved performance and energy efficiency.

The company also introduced four chipsets for socket AM5 motherboards: X670 Extreme, X670, B550 Extreme and B550. More productive and, as a result, more expensive X670 will be available in September, and B550 — from October.

            What has changed?

The table shows the characteristics of the previous generation AMD Ryzen 5000.

According to AMD, performance per IPC clock will increase by up to 13% and up to 29% for single-threaded performance.

Characteristics on the example of the top processor AMD Ryzen 9 7950X:

            • base frequency increased from 3.4 GHz to 4.5 GHz
            • maximum frequency changed from 4.9GHz to 5.7 GHz
            • doubled L2 cache
            • TDP increased from 105W to 170W
            • Added integrated graphics, in the AMD Ryzen 5000 generation it was only available in the 5700G and 5600G models

The younger models also do not lag behind in the increase in base frequencies. With such changes in the characteristics of processors, the declared growth looks expected. The use of faster and more powerful DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 will further increase system performance.

            Productivity growth in applications

At the presentation, a comparison of the benchmark results of the new AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processor against AMD Ryzen 9 5950X in applications was presented:

            • V-Ray Render: + 48%
            • Blender Render: +30%
            • Cinebench R23 nT: +48%
            • POV Ray: +45%

A significant increase in performance, rendering speed and data processing is visible. Similar results were obtained when testing the operation of processors in gaming.

The performance gain of the Zen 4 architecture compared to Zen 3 in various benchmarks is from 4 to 39%.

            Prices

The start of sales is scheduled for September 27, the prices are announced as follows:

            AMD Ryzen 9 7950X — $ 699
            AMD Ryzen 9 7900X — $549
            AMD Ryzen 7 7700X — $399
            AMD Ryzen 5 7600X — $299

Previous generation discounted ahead of new releases on Amazon (shipping in the US):

            Ryzen 95950X — $546
            Ryzen 9 5900X — $370
            Ryzen 7 5700X — $ 279

Interesting arithmetic: with the declared increase in performance in benchmarks up to 45%, the discount on the previous generation was 20-30% of the price of new hardware. Do not forget that DDR5 memory is still more expensive than DDR4, and motherboards with socket AM5 at the start of sales will be expected to cost more than AM4. All this will affect the final cost of assembly.

            Intel competition

AMD compared the new Ryzen 9 7950X with the Intel Core i9-12900K and got the following benchmark results:

            • V-Ray Render: +62%
            • Blender Render: +36%
            • Cinebench R23 nT: +41%
            • POV Ray: +41%

Particular emphasis was placed on rendering efficiency combined with low power consumption.

Not surprising, given the difference in TDP processors. At the same time, Intel positions 8 of the 16 cores of the i9 processor-12900K as energy efficient and runs in 24 threads versus 32 for the 7950X. This affects performance in favor of AMD.

However, the Intel Core i9-12900K is priced at $569 on Amazon, which is $130 or 19% cheaper than the new AMD Ryzen 7950X.

Not spared performance benchmarks in games. The entire line of Ryzen 7000 processors presented in AMD’s presentation turned out to be more powerful than the i9-12900K.
