A Great Remake!!!

Games get it right when it comes to remakes (or at least most of them do). Hollywood could use a few lessons when it comes to video games in many ways.

While the original 1996 version was an amazing game, and my first foray into the Survival Horror Genre, this game is far superior in many ways. The graphics are much better, and still hold up to this day considering this is a 2002 Gamecube Port. Of course graphics have gotten a lot better than this since, but unlike the original it does hold up greatly. The gameplay is a lot better than the original, and just as frustrating but in that good kind of way if you know what I mean.

The story is expanded upon and more things are added it while keeping most of the original work, although it does change up quite a few things which is nice because you expect something to happen because it did in the original game but instead something entirely different takes place, keeping it new and fresh for us longtime fans.

The soundtrack is amazing from music to ambience. There’s nothing like running down a dark hallway after being scared out of your mind from a zombie to jumping at the sound of thunder in the distance. There are a few new enemies to contend with, as well as all the original ones. The Crimson Heads are quite intense, which reminds me make sure to burn all the zombie corpses in places that you will frequent often (you can thank me later).

The game still has that B Horror quality about it, but sadly the original did a much better job in that department. While this one still has that feel, the acting isn’t as bad which is what made the original so loveable. Now don’t get me wrong the acting in this game isn’t Academy Award Winning and at many times is pretty bad, it just doesn’t have that original feel.

All in all this was a great experience and it was fun to jump back into the world that opened my eyes to horror gaming. If you’re fan of the original or a newcomer this is an amazing game for you to explore. However, I do recommend playing the original (if you haven’t already). I will be playing this game again very soon. I have only done the Jill storyline, but I am sure the Chris story is just as engaging.

I played this on the PS4.

Resident Evil 4 Remake: Release date, trailers, everything we know so far

  ❘   Published: 2022-10-25T14:00:00

  ❘   Updated: 2022-10-25T14:31:13

A Resident Evil 4 remake is now confirmed to be in the works, but what exactly do we know about Capcom’s plans? Here’s everything we’ve gleaned about the upcoming release.

Resident Evil 4 is one of the most celebrated entries in the Resident Evil series. Not only was it a shot in the arm for an aging franchise, but it revolutionized the third-person action-adventure genre. There’s a reason the game has been ported to nearly every platform since its release. In fact, it’s so celebrated some fans argue it doesn’t need a remake at all.

When played on modern systems, the original Resident Evil 4 holds up rather well, and the argument that a remake is unnecessary and that Capcom should instead turn their attention to Code Veronica or Dino Crisis carries some weight. However, with Resident Evil 4 being a popular and commercially successful entity, bringing it back into the fold for next-gen consoles is an exciting prospect.

Capcom

The Resident Evil 4 Remake is real, and it’s coming in 2023.

Does the Resident Evil 4 Remake have a release date?

Yes, the remake of Resident Evil 4 will release on March 24, 2023.

The remake is set to stick tightly to Leon’s story while allowing for just enough of an expansion to flavor the game for new and returning players. Capcom has been keen to stay true to the survival horror aspects that made the original such a hit with fans.

What platforms will the Resident Evil 4 Remake be on?

The Resident Evil 4 Remake will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. That means it’s skipping PS4 and Xbox One entirely.

For terrifying levels of immersion, new content is also in the works for PS VR2. Exactly what this will entail remains unclear. Whether it’s the full game in VR or just a chunk of the experience, we’re sure it’ll be the most frightening way to experience RE4.

Resident Evil 4 creator’s view on a remake

When RE4 first came out on the Nintendo GameCube, Mikami was serving as the game’s director and oversaw much of the project. Since then, he’s gone on to create games like The Evil Within and Vanquish, which both borrowed from RE4 in many ways.

In an interview with VG247, Mikami said he approved of a RE4 Remake, saying: “Fans will most likely want it, and so that’s a good thing.” He add: “It would be great if Capcom could do a great job and make the story better, and put out a good product.”

Mikami went on to explain that due to tight deadlines during RE4’s production, he wasn’t able to tell the story he wanted to tell, and hopes that a potential RE4 remake could rectify this.

RE4 is hailed as one of the most celebrated games of all time, but more recent entries have arguably told better stories. This is despite the game featuring a superb cast of Resi characters like Leon, Ada, and Wesker.

Shinji Mikami

Original Resident Evil 4 creator Shinji Mikami.

Shinji Mikami also expects the RE4 remake will adopt a spookier tone than the original, and that concepts that were scrapped in the final version could be revisited.

The original Resident Evil 4 languished in development hell, going through at least 4 scrapped versions before the devs settled on a final one. As Resident Evil has taken on a more serious horror-focused style in recent years, this could also translate into the remake. After the release of the trailer, Mikami was proved to be correct.

Pocket Tarkov. Lost Light Review

Lost Light has gained fame as a mobile Escape from Tarkov, but this is not entirely true. NetEase, of course, peeped a lot from the hit from Battlestate Games, but the Chinese developers put a completely different hit — PUBG Mobile from Tencent — at the heart of the gameplay. The resulting remix of two well-known projects claims to be the best mobile shooter.

Capcom has no plans to increase the price of its games and will sell all upcoming releases, including the 9 remake0101 Resident Evil 4 , at the usual prices. Representatives of the company spoke about this at a meeting with investors following the results of the first quarter of the 2022-2023 financial year.

«At the moment we don’t have any specific plans for this. We are strategically approaching prices, shaping them in such a way that we receive income from sales of games within 5-10 years after their release, including through sales» , the message says.

Compared to the first quarter of the 2021-2022 fiscal year, Capcom’s revenue has halved, but this will not affect the overall annual plan, company representatives assured. The fall over the past three months is due to the lack of new high-profile hits compared to the same period last year, when Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil Village . But hits are expected this year as well — only in the second half.

The aforementioned Resident Evil 4 Remake releases on March 24th, and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition releases on October 28th .

The publisher’s performance has grown steadily for the past nine years in a row, and Capcom also plans to record a record operating profit for the entire current fiscal year . This is facilitated by the stable release of high-quality games and a competent approach to selling classics on digital platforms.

Capcom has also learned how to keep key games interesting with additional content for them. So, the recent Sunbreak DLC for Monster Hunter Rise sold 3.5 million copies much faster than the similar Iceborne expansion for Monster Hunter World .

is rumored to be in preparation for the announcement of Monster Hunter Paradise for the PlayStation and Xbox by Capcom.
