Game of the Year
Rockstar Games has 100% out done themselves this time.
The controls are phenomenal, the story is reminiscent of GTA V’s story, «one last job and we can be done forever». This game is worthy of GOTY and hopefully it wins that. For those saying that the «controls are too clunky», «you have to fight like the devs planned», stop playing because it’s not like that at all. The controls again are perf- BEYOND perfect. 10/10 would play the story again. Arthur Morgan is now my new top #1 favorite game character.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Release date
While Rockstar initially aimed for an Autumn 2017 release, Red Dead Redemption 2 suffered a handful of pushbacks.
Thankfully, the game is now available following a 26 October 2018 release on
PS4 and
Xbox One.
Then, nearly a year later, Rockstar revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to come to PC. The company has confirmed that it’ll be released on 5 November 2019, and will be available via Rockstar’s recently released Rockstar Games Launcher alongside the Epic Games Store. It’ll feature the content of the console variant, along with a handful of exclusive weapons, horses and single-player content too.
Red Dead Redemption 2: Latest trailers
Alongside the cinematic trailer found at the top of this article, there’s a meaty gameplay clip to sink your teeth into.
The gameplay video offers a deep-dive into the open world, giving us a taste at what’s available. It’s several minutes long and includes a lot of gameplay captured on a PS4 Pro, and it looks absolutely incredible.

More recent is this part 2 gameplay trailer that focuses on the ‘nefarious activities’ you can get involved in while playing as Arthur Morgan.
This includes “robbing trains, encountering rival gangs and outlaws, evading cunning lawmen and lots more in a world that is deep, teeming with life and very menacing.”
You’ll also get a look at the new and expanded Dead Eye system.
And finally, just over a week before launch in 2018, Rockstar released a short story trailer showcasing some of the epic moments you’ll encounter during the 60-hour-long campaign.
Red Dead Redemption 2: Gameplay
As seen
in the above trailer, Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in a sprawling American landscape and features everything from mountainous regions, to swamps, deserts and forests, with no loading screens to get in your way.
You play as Arthur Morgan, the leader of the Van der Linde gang, on the run from Lawmen across America. A big part of the game is your camp; as you move from location to location, you’ll take on camp-related activities and missions.
These range from upkeep (the camp and gang need regular provisions, be it food or cash) to character-specific missions.
You’ll also be able to interact with the residents of the open world in previously-unseen ways. The interactions will change depending on the situation and how you choose to approach; do you charm your way out of the situation, or act aggressive and try to intimidate those around you? You’ll build a reputation based on your actions that’ll change the way that NPCs interact with you – for better, or for worse.
As well as interacting with human NPCs, your horse plays a big part in the game and, thus, needs to be looked after. You’ll be able to build a bond with your horse by grooming them, feeding them and if they’re stressed, calming them. Horses will have different characteristics and will be suited to different tasks, be it traversing mountainous terrain or pulling along carts.
Throughout the open world, you’ll come across locations like Armadillo and Ridgewood, towns populated with NPCs like general store owners, gunsmiths and undertakers.
You’ll be able to interact with the NPCs to get access to weapons and missions, and you can even gamble if you’re feeling lucky, punk.
Slums Markets will also be key to accessing new equipment at a reduced price, although the availability of these dodgy merchants will rely on the time of day amongst other factors.
Vehicles in Red Dead Redemption 2 include handcarts and horse-drawn carriages alongside your trusted steed, and come in a variety of different forms.
GTA V didn’t launch with first-person support, but it came later on. Thankfully, Rockstar has learnt from this mistake and includes first-person support with Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s noted that like GTA V, the game features bespoke animations to fit the style.

To survive, the gang must rob, steal, fight across the many miles of American wasteland and civilization. The inner parts threaten to tear the gang apart. Gameplay
Red Dead Redemption 2 is an action-adventure western-style game set in an open world.
The protagonist Arthur Morgan is a member of the Van der Linde gang in 1899, during the fading of the American Old West and the passing of the era of apostates and skilled shooters. Returning characters include John Marston and Dutch Van der Linde, respectively the protagonist and antagonist of the previous game.
The player controls Morgan in 1st or 3rd person view. The game has single player and online multiplayer components.
Returned the Honor system from Red Dead Redemption , which, given the way the player interacts with non-player characters (NPCs), affects how settlements, cities and other groups perceive Morgan. This system is greatly expanded, the player has many options for interacting with NPCs. nine0025

By increasing the player’s immersion, the game allows you to take care of your inventory, such as cleaning and oiling weapons. Thinking about character customization, the player will be able to visit the hairdresser; however, the list of available styles will depend on how much the player allows the character’s hair to grow naturally over the course of the game.
Characters can have different sets of clothes for different weather conditions, they will need to eat and bathe regularly, and actions that were previously more automated, such as skinning dead prey and inspecting objects, will become much more detailed. nine0025

Red Dead Redemption II’s varied climates and habitats are home to approximately 200 species of animals, birds and fish. All of them uniquely behave and react to the environment. Deer, bison and antelope live in large herds in the plains, scavengers quickly catch the smell of carrion, sockeye salmon jumps upstream, wolves surround the victim in packs, geese fly in fixed wedges, opossums pretend to be dead, rodents jump into hollows, grizzlies, feeling threatened, bluff, committing visibility of the attack, birds of prey soar along the air currents. All of them form a complex ecosystem and are constantly fighting for their place in the food chain. The wilderness is both a promising and dangerous place for both people and beasts; any predator can quickly become a prey.

Hunting and fishing
Hunting and fishing are essential skills for survival in the wild. They provide food, materials and a source of income. A huge number of fish are found in numerous rivers, lakes and streams, and choosing the right bait is the key to a successful catch. Tracking animals requires patience and concentration. The player must move carefully and take into account that the direction of the wind or himself may frighten the victim. The choice of weapon and the point of fire is also very important, affecting the quality of meat and hide, and this affects the price that merchants will pay for prey. Players must ensure that the correct caliber of the gun is chosen according to the size of the animal. Also, you can learn silent kills with a bow. Development
Red Dead Redemption 2 was developed at Rockstar Studios by the joint efforts of all the company’s studios working as a single team.
The game is based on RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine). The composer of the game was Woody Jackson, who also participated in writing music for the last part.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was announced in October 2016. Two days before, the company posted two teaser images in the colors and style of Red Dead Redemption through various social media platforms and its website. The teaser images attracted significant attention and raised the stock price of parent company Take-Two Interactive by almost 6%. On the day of the announcement for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, some fans started contacting Rockstar Games to release the game on Windows. Under an exclusivity agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment, certain online content will be temporarily exclusive to the PlayStation 4. Initially, the release was scheduled for the second half of 2017, but was delayed twice: first to the first or second quarter of 2018, then to October 26, 2018. nine0025
The game’s debut trailer was released on October 20, 2016, depicting an open world.
The second and third trailers were released on September 28, 2017 and May 2, 2018, introducing the game’s characters and story. On August 9, 2018, a trailer was posted with the first gameplay demonstration: shooting, riding horses, the ability to support a gang and camps. To boost pre-orders, Rockstar partnered with several retailers to release special editions of the game through them.
