(Pocket-lint) — Sony will reportedly slash the prices of its PlayStation Plus subscription tiers by 25 per cent for Black Friday.
Leaker billbil-kun, who regularly, accurately leaks the PS Plus monthly games to be offered each month, claims that PlayStation will offer its different tiers with a quarter off the normal price.
That will seemingly apply to the yearly fee, rather than monthly, but is a great way to ensure you have PS Plus Essential, Extra or Premium for at least 12-months at a reduced price.
He also claims that the discount will start on 18 November and run until 28 November. Black Friday itself is on 25 November.

If correct, the deal prices will be:
- PlayStation Plus Essential: $44.99 / €44.99 / £37.99 for 12-months (usually $59.99 / €59/99 / £49.99)
- PlayStation Plus Extra: $74.99 / €74.99 / £62.99 for 12-months (usually $99.99 / €99/99 / £83.99)
- PlayStation Plus Premium $89.99 / €89.99 / £74.99 for 12-months (usually $119.99 / €119/99 / £99.99)
The different PS Plus tiers offer increasingly expansive benefits, with Extra and Premium including access to a rapidly growing catalogue of PS4 and PS5 games. Premium also offers cloud gaming access and archive titles from PlayStation’s illustrious past.
It’s not yet know whether Sony will restrict the discounts to its own online (in-console) stores or whether you will also be able to get them through select retailers. We’ll keep you up to date.

PlayStation Plus Will Be on Sale on Black Friday

Gamers can buy PlayStation Plus at a discounted rate later this month as Sony confirms a Black Friday sale on the PlayStation Store.
Sony confirms that fans will be able to get a discount on PlayStation Plus on Black Friday. PlayStation Plus transitioned into a three-tiered service earlier this year, with the Essential category being the same as the previous model. PS Plus Extra and Premium offer other bonuses including access to a massive catalog of PS4 and PS5 games without any extra charges.
Many companies offer big discounts on video games and other electronic items during Black Friday sales. This includes offers on physical copies of games and special sales on the various digital storefronts. Sony holds a Black Friday sale every year, allowing users to take advantage of discounts on a massive selection of games. Now, Sony announces that users will be able to get PlayStation Plus for cheaper in just a few days.

PlayStation confirms that gamers will get a 25% discount on PlayStation Plus starting November 18 as a part of its Black Friday sale. 1 year of PS Plus Essential costs $60, so fans can expect to get it for around $45. The sale may only include the Essential tier as it doesn’t specify if PS Plus Extra and Premium will also be available at a discounted rate. However, gamers can then upgrade to Extra or Premium for less than they otherwise would have had to pay.
This gives players a great opportunity to buy multiple years of PlayStation Plus at a discounted price. Judging by previous years, Sony will offer discounts on hundreds of games during its full Black Friday sale, but fans will have to wait for a few days to see the final list of prices. PS5 owners who don’t want to track these sales can add games to their wish list, and the console will notify them whenever these titles are available cheaper.
PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers get access get to online multiplayer and cloud saves in addition to around 3 games every month. Upon adding these games to their accounts, members can play them as long as they have an active subscription. Free PlayStation Plus games for November 2022 include Nioh 2, LEGO Harry Potter Collection, and Heavenly Bodies, so users who buy PS Plus during Black Friday can play these titles at no extra charge.
Essential functions differently from Extra and Premium, as they include a massive catalog of hundreds of games, but members lose access once that title leaves the service.
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium add 20 games in November 2022 including Kingdom Hearts 3, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim — Special Edition, The Division 2, and Chorus among others.

Black Friday 2022 at the PlayStation Store
From November 24 to 27, 2022, the grand traditional Black Friday will take place in the PlayStation Store online store. Buyers are waiting for discounts and a big pre-New Year sale on November 25th. Sony promises to provide discounts of up to 85% on popular games for the PlayStation 3,4 and PS Vita consoles.
Which games are discounted?
Most of the online store’s bestsellers are available for a discounted price during Black Friday. A total of 221 electronic versions are available. Worth highlighting:
- 24-40% off Marvel’s Spiderman;
- 45% for FIFA 19;
- 15-30% on «Call of duty: Black ops 4, WWII»;
- 10-12% on «RDR 2»;
- up to 54% on «Rainbow Six»;
- up to 52% off all GTA 5 DLCs;
- up to 50% off The Witcher 3 game and add-ons.
The list includes many other exclusives and multi-platform releases of the last 5 years, as well as story additions, passes and multiplayer packs.
PS3 and Vita owners were not deprived either. They have package discounts for entire series of legendary video games. Among them:
- the Bioshock trilogy;
- «Batman»;
- «Mass Effect» compilation;
- sports simulators «FIFA 18», «NBA 18»;
- «South Park»;
- «Mafia 2»;
- «The Last of Us» and 22 other releases in the last 8 years.
The cost of renewal and subscription to Plus for these platforms has been reduced by 25%. Discounted prices can only be accessed by signing up for a PS Plus account.
Deals from partner stores
Black Friday at the PlayStation Store will reach not only console owners. Some Russian electronics stores decided to support the campaign by lowering prices for set-top boxes and accessories.
Offers are valid on the same dates as online, but for unsold sets, the price tag will be increased after the sale.
In addition to video games, discounts are available for PS VR. In all chain stores Sony, Center, Domotechnika, RBT, Technopark, Citylink and Svyaznoy are available for ordering a virtual reality set-top box. The base set includes: a PS VR headset, a dedicated camera and a selection of 5 exclusive Sony ‘VR Worlds’ games.
Discounts also apply to the best-selling game consoles: PS4 and PS4 Pro. When you order the latter, you’ll receive 1 of 3 free discs of God of War, Detroit, or this fall’s bestselling Spider-Man exclusives.
Two separate console sets are also available in the Svyaznoy network. The 1TB PS4 promotional box will include hits such as «Grand Turismo», «God of War» and «Horizon». The 500 GB version includes all the same except for God of War. It was replaced with another exclusive — «Uncharted 4».
For those who have just decided to become a member of the PS Plus program or want to renew an existing subscription, there are options for 3 and 12 months with 15% and 20% discounts respectively.

The official resellers of O’Key, Citylink and Svyaznoy accessories have reduced prices for all colors of Dualshok 4 gamepads during the Black Friday promotion.
