After months of dodging and avoiding leaks I was finally ready and excited to see what was next for our beloved, I booted up the game once midnight struck and played the night away. After beating the game I wish I had read the leaks, because what I played was not what I was expecting and for someone who is open to games/movies taking risks almost nothing this game did worked for me. The gameplay is fun the graphics is spectacular however for a game that is story a centric, story first, none of that stuff really matters to me if the story is bad. While there are certain things in this story that are great and I absolutely love there is so much that is just so… bad. I started my adventure on hard however not long after I switched it to very easy, not because the game was super hard or cause I’m bad at the game but because I did not care anymore, never have I lost so much interest in a game that I lower the difficulty all the way just so I could blow through it and get it over with. I really wanted to like this game, especially with how much the original means to me and having played and beaten the game over 10 times, but this 1 play through was enough for me, at times it felt like it just kept dragging and dragging… unfortunately this game just did not stick the landing for me, while I appreciate the technical aspects of the game as far as the story is concerned the last of us series should have ended with the original.

As beautiful a canvas as you could ever want. Still love the gameplay and mechanics. It’s just a flawed, headscratching story with flat and poorly developed characters. The characters we knew and loved are abused and worse by Naughty Dog and the fans are slapped in the face repeatedly. The first game was a lot to live up to and, well «they made a sequel; it wasn’t as good.»

Let us begin with some positives. The game looks tremendous. The lighting, sound, acting, and gameplay are a stark reminder of the original game. Nothing much gameplay wise has changed noticably which is a good thing. Although the script may be corny and filled with obvious left propganda the game still manages to tell the tragic story quite well. Now…the bad. ***SPOILER*** In the games first few hours we run into the main antsgonist, Abby a former firefly converted WLF militia member. Without directly stating the obvious she kills ______ brutally in an vengeful effort to redeem her father. For the first half of the game the story focuses around Ellie and her revenge. She marches around Seattle killing anyone associated with Abby in hopes she eventually finds the culprit. Midway through the game everything so far has come to a head. Abby now has Ellie at gunpoint. Then the game takes a weird twist. The person who killed ____ is now the charcter we must play as?! At first I refused to continue the game but upon further thought I decided it is only a game after all. Surprisingly enough Abby’s character had much more depth than Ellie. I was surprised at how much I began to relate to Abby and her situations. We see her as a child in flashbacks, we see her relationship with her father, her boyfriend, his new girlfriend, and two young children from a rival faction she befriended after they saved her life. Skip to the end. Abby catches Ellie and she lets her walk yet again. This is the second time Abby lets Ellie live. Ellie a year later or so once again hunts down Abby and finds her immaciated and tied to a pole. The games most brilliant scene comes next. Ellie cuts down Abby who immediately runs up to her “surrogate child” in a direct parallel to Ellie and Joel. We see a beautifully designed scene where we (as Ellie) follows Abby holding the child in her arms. The imagery is a direct reflection of Joel carrying Ellie away from the fireflies in game 1. The game once again missed the ball however. They don’t ellaborate on this or even end the game in the brilliant way it could have. Ellie could have seen Abby’s relationship with the child and we could have seen a scene where Ellie draws a comparison to her and Joel but this never happens. Instead Ellie chooses to fight the immaciated Abby who at first refuses to fight. Once Ellie threatens the child Abby decides to fight. Ellie wins the fight and lets Abby sail off. The game essentially ends there. What could have made this game better is if Abby didn’t murder _____ with a golf club after hours of torture. If Abby and _____ exchange had ended with a bullet to the head I’d say people would have an easier time liking Abby.

My final thoughts.

TLOU2 dropped the ball on countless occasions. They had a chance at redemption for horrible story telling but missed the opportunity there as well. If I had to use one word to describe the game I’d say “desperate”. In an attempt to incite the players with emotion the game turns its own fans against the actual game. Careless in the way they made the game and careless at the end as well. They missed their mark and I hate to say it to. A series beloved by fans took what everyone loved about the original and murdered it with a golf club. They left me confused in who I wanted to root for. I identified with Abby more and Ellie less. Although you finish the game as Ellie I felt the game made me like Abby much more than they intended to. Naughty Dog failed for the first time in the production companies existance. I’m willing to forgive them as Ellie forgave Abby and as Abby forgave Ellie. If you loved the first one, good luck with the second one.

I’d give the game a solid 7/10. It escaped a 10/10 for absolutely careless story telling. I’ve never seen a television show, movie, or game drop the ball as many times as TLOU2 had. Missed opportunity and truly disappointing..

I loved LOU-1. Replayed it several times. This one is ok the first half. Then you have to play as Abby- a new character. This was annoying at first, but then grew to like her. Her chapters were more challenging than Ellie’s. Won’t spoil the ending, but the story was very disappointing. I think Naughty Dog out of ideas. 1/2 of it seemed to take place in the Aquarium-probably just because they didn’t know what else to do. l liked the fighting, stealth, scenery, and some specific emotional moments. Just felt let down, however, over all. I’d recommend it to continue the series, but don’t expect it to be what the first one was- one of the best games of all time.

According to Bloomberg publication , Microsoft offered Sony the ability to add Call of Duty 9 series games0048 to the PlayStation Plus subscription service catalog — in addition to the 10-year commitment to keep the series on PlayStation . So far there has been no response from Team Jim Ryan .

Sony has previously said that even if Call of Duty stays on PlayStation, Microsoft will have the added benefit of an Xbox Game Pass subscription, where it can add new installments of the series from day one. Now Microsoft has offered a competitor a deal for Call of Duty in PS Plus — the details are unknown, but, apparently, we are talking about the opportunity to receive new shooters by subscription from the start. nine0003

Microsoft lawyers expect this move to earn them extra points in a lawsuit against the US Federal Trade Commission, which is trying to block a deal to buy Activision Blizzard, considering it anti-competitive .

Activision Blizzard is ready to go all the way with Microsoft . Publishing CEO Bobby Kotick says the court case is troubling, but he’s confident Xbox can win.

nine0004 “The claim that this deal is anti-competitive is not true and we believe we will win this fight.

Every day, you all work hard to bring incredible joy to users around the world with what I think are the best games in the industry. At the same time, the market landscape is changing, and the combination of Activision Blizzard with Microsoft will be beneficial for both the players and our employees, the market and the industry as a whole,” he wrote in a December 8 message to employees. nine0003

Microsoft says Activision deal is fair because PlayStation has more exclusives

Microsoft President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Brad Smith said Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard is fair and should be cleared by regulators as the direct competitor of Sony and PlayStation has many more exclusive projects, which is the absolute truth. nine0003

Bloomberg reports that during the annual shareholder meeting, Smith made a statement about why the billion-dollar deal must be completed successfully. According to Smith, Sony currently has a dominant position in the video game market, and this is one of the reasons why the deal should be carried out. Smith also said that Microsoft will actively defend itself during the trial with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Let me remind you that this commission filed a lawsuit against Microsoft a few days ago, and is trying to block the deal, the reason for filing the lawsuit was the alleged fraud of Microsoft during the purchase of ZeniMax in 2021. The FTC said that Microsoft made a promise not to make TES Vi an Xbox exclusive, but the project is still an exclusive. Although now it will be more difficult for them to win — the European Union stood up for Microsoft, of course, partially, and no one has yet received full permission for the deal. nine0003

«If you look at the gaming market, Sony has 70% of that market, and we have 30%. So the first thing the judge will have to decide is whether the FTC lawsuit is a case that will promote competition, or whether this case is protecting the largest competitor from competition.» — Smith;

Smith also attached some statistics to his statements, confirming his words about exclusive projects. So, the PlayStation has only 286 exclusive projects, while the Xbox has only 59.. He also said that the judge will have to decide whether the transition from 59 projects to 60 is so dangerous that the deal can be banned. Wow, and Smith seems to have hinted that one of the projects could become an Xbox exclusive after a successful deal with Activision, and if it’s Call of Duty, Sony will be very upset.

The FTC said that if the deal is successful, Microsoft (Xbox) «will gain control of the leading video game franchises» and would then be able to damage competition in the gaming market, as well as in the game console and subscription services market. nine0003

recommendations

Winning a case with the FTC will not be as difficult as with European regulators, although past successful large deals may help.
