Wie die Action ins Rollenspiel kam: Die Wurzeln von Skyrim, Gothic & Co.
Warum fühlen sich manche Kämpfe in Rollenspielen episch an, während andere zum stumpfen Geklicke verkommen? Und wie kam überhaupt die Action in die Rollenspielkämpfe? Darauf werfen wir in diesem Video einen detaillierten Blick und nehmen euch mit auf eine Reise von den Würfeln bis hin zur Echtzeit-Action.
Was Kampfsysteme in Rollenspielen angeht, sind wir heute echt verwöhnt. Für jeden Geschmack gibt es ein passendes System — egal, ob man mehr der Rundentaktiker ist oder sich lieber in Echtzeit durch Dungeons prügelt. Doch wo hat diese Vielfalt ihren Ursprung?
Während es in den 70ern nur experimentelle Programme wie »pedit5« und »dnd« gab, brachte Rogue ab dem Jahr 1980 viele Rollenspieler ins Schwitzen und begründete das erste Subgenre unter den Rollenspielen. Nachdem Richard Garriott mit Ultima 1 neue Maßstäbe im Bereich der Open World gesetzt hatte, war es 1987 Dungeon Master, das Spielzüge in Echtzeit und ein innovatives Magiesystem bot.
Von da an nahm die Zahl der Spielmechaniken permanent zu. Richtig actionreich wurde es aber erst ab 1992, als Ultima 7 neben dem Brotbacken auch Echtzeitgeknüppel lieferte. Den Höhepuntk fand diese Entwicklung wohl im Mittendringefühl der The Elder Scrolls Reihe und ihrem »Learning by Doing«-Prinzip des Skillens. Doch auch zwischendrin gab es immer wieder obskure, aber auch sinnstiftende Mechaniken, die wir euch in diesem Video vorstellen.

11 Soulslikes abseits von Dark Souls — Video-Special zum beliebten Hardcore-Genre
Ich habs verstanden, Dark Souls und Soulslikes stehen bei euch ganz oben auf der Liste, wenn es um schwere Spiele geht. Unter jedem Video habt ihr mir zahlreiche Vorschläge aus diesem Genre gemacht. Bevor ich die alle einzeln abarbeite, dachte ich mir, machen wir einfach eine eigene Liste draus.
Deswegen hier also eine kurze Reise zurück zu dem Spiel, das den Stein ins Rollen gebracht hat.
Seit dem hat From Software natürlich nicht geschlafen und jetzt, in ihrem neuesten Spiel Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, entfernen sie sich sogar wieder ein bisschen von der Formel, die ihnen in den letzten Jahren so viel Erfolg gebracht hat.

Monster Hunter World — 8 Alternativen im Video, die man jetzt auf dem PC spielen kann
PC-Spieler müssen sich noch bis zum Herbst gedulden, wenn Monster Hunter World offiziell für ihre Plattform erscheint. Solange muss man aber nicht warten, um zu testen, ob das Spielprinzip zu einem passt.
Die Mischung aus heftigen Bosskämpfen, Loot, Grind und Crafting gibt es auch in anderen Spielen.

Das japanische Entwicklerteam Team Ninja ruht sich nach dem Release von Nioh nicht aus und kündigte mehrere in der Entwicklung befindliche Spiele an. Mehr Details nannte die Firma allerdings nicht.

Nioh — PC-Version im Video: Schwacher Port, der jeden Cent wert ist
Auf dem PC gibt es jetzt auch endlich Nioh, doch bei der Portierung hat sich Koei Tecmo Games nicht so viel Mühe gegeben, wie es sich dieser hervorragende Action-Mix aus Dark Souls, Diablo und Ninja Gaiden verdient hätte.
Trotzdem ist Nioh auch auf dem PC eine klare Empfehlung, zumindest, wenn man ein Gamepad hat.
Im Video zeigen wir ein paar Gameplay-Szenen aus der PC-Version und fassen die Stärken und Schwächen zusammen. Mehr zum Spiel selbst gibt es auch im Test-Artikel zu Nioh. Außerdem gibt es einen Blick auf die PC-Optionen.

Auf dem PC ist Nioh an Steam gebunden und liefert die Updates und Story-DLCs der PS4-Version gleich mit. Mit den Erweiterungen Drache des Nordens, Unbeugsame Ehre und Ende des Blutvergießens wird auch die Spielzeit deutlich erhöht. Wer alle Nebenmissionen erledigen will kann deutlich über 100 Stunden einrechnen, für die Hauptgeschichte kann man je nach eigenem Können rund 60 Stunden einplanen.

- Do not reach for all weapons in a row

- Learn Ki Rebound Recovery
Pressing a separate button each time to restore ki is not very convenient. And the chance to get hit on the head at this moment is great. Having learned a special skill, ki can be restored simply by dodging enemy attacks in time — very useful in duels.
- Do not skip new dojo training
This is the only way to gain access to new, more powerful skills. The tests in the dojo are difficult, but they are worth it. For example, one of the last skills for katana seriously reduces the cost of stamina for dodges.

- Shoot enemies in the head
A lot of opponents can be killed with one shot this way. Or at least stun. For enemies without a helmet, a bow is enough. Muskets and guns are suitable for scoundrels in armor.
- Use magic
Each enemy and boss has an elemental weakness. By charging the weapon with the appropriate power, you can greatly increase the damage. That’s what magic is for. With it, you can also teach the hero to throw fire (lightning, ice, whatever) balls, as well as do a bunch of other useful things, like slowing down enemies and reducing their defense. - Use ninjutsu
Poison and regular shurikens, slowing spikes, poisonous impregnation for weapons — all this is very helpful in duels and boss battles. At least get shurikens for sure — they are convenient to knock enemies off balance when they have used up stamina and are trying to escape.
- Upgrade your armor and weapons regularly
There is a lot of loot in Nioh and it affects the battle much more significantly than in Dark Souls — here the game is very similar to Diablo. After clearing each level, upgrade your arsenal and wardrobe. If the character looks ridiculous — look at the blacksmith, he can change the look of any piece of equipment. If you come across a lot of loot of a higher level than yours, but with lower characteristics, perform the fusion at the blacksmith: choose a base item and a material item — the base rises to the level of the material, the characteristics increase. nine0003
- Follow the equipment requirements
Armor has requirements for certain stats, if you don’t meet them you will get pure protection, no additional bonuses like «+5 stamina».
- Offer extra loot at the altars

There are almost no unique items in Nioh, the game generates equipment randomly, like Diablo. On a cunningly hidden corpse, you will most likely find ordinary consumables or some kind of stupid katana — it’s not worth it.
