Fortnite Quests in Chapter 4 Season 1

Fortnite quests have received a small but meaningful facelift for this new chapter, so you’ll need to alter your approach to them if you want to receive the same benefit that they provided previously. Overall the format hasn’t changed much, so you still have discovery quests (Explorer), storyline quests (Oathbound), and overall progress quests (Milestones) available, but the important difference is that each set of Weekly quests are only live for seven days before they disappear and a new list of assignments appear. This means you can’t save up tasks from multiple weeks then tackle them all at once during Fortnite Chapter 4, and if you don’t keep on top of the quests then you risk losing out on a significant amount of XP over the course of the season.

The current set of This Week quests challenge you to «Throw Down» against your opponents, so you’ll be tossing around items, flinging plenty of Chug Splash, Grenades, and Fireflies, while also trying to eliminate a player with no ranged weapons in your inventory and while on foot so get those throwables or pickaxe ready. There’s one more week to clear the second set of Oathbound Quests, while the initial Fortnite Geralt quests will soon be available in early February.

There are certain Fortnite quests that will get ticked off through natural gameplay and don’t require attention, but we’re here to help with the ones that need specific knowledge or actions to clear. Completing quests is a lot easier these days now we no longer rely on Fortnite characters to distribute them, so if you want to know what you need to do for that sweet XP boost, then check out the quests section of the main menu – or the pause menu – and you’ll find them all clearly laid out, with the option to track your progress on a specific challenge. Keep completing quests and you’ll earn massive amounts of XP across the entire Fortnite season so you can unlock fresh rewards – and who doesn’t want that? Here’s everything we know about the latest Fortnite quests.

Fortnite Quests — This Week

Fortnite This Week quests have replaced the Weekly quests for this chapter, and although we’ll have new assignments added every seven days, they’ll then expire so you’ll need to regularly keep on top of them to avoid missing out. These are the Fortnite quests in this category for the current week:

Throw Down Quests

  • Throw something (1)
  • Throw something within 5 seconds of damaging an opponent (1)
  • Hide in different bushes that you threw down (2)
  • Eliminate a player with no ranged weapons in your inventory and while on foot (1)
  • Use Chug Splash, Grenades, and Fireflies (10/30/60/100)
  • Finish anything but first in different matches (1/3/6/10)

Fortnite Quests — Oathbound

Fortnite Oathbound quests will be familiar if you worked through the Paradise quests last season, as these again provide a chronological set of tasks to run through a fresh storyline, though they expire after a relatively short amount of time so don’t wait too long to work through the assignments here. These Fortnite quests unlock over time, with Part 2 live now and due to expire when Part 3 arrives on January 31:

Part 2

  • 1 of 4 — Make contact with Rift Warden Stellan at a Hologram Brazier (1)
  • 2 of 4 — Install construction materials at the gate (3)
  • 3 of 4 — Repair malfunctioning electronics by damaging them (3)
  • 4 of 4 — Calibrate signal tech (1)
  • 1 of 4 — Make contact with Rift Warden Stellan at a Hologram Brazier (1)
  • 2 of 4 — Plant star sensors and cosmic monitor (6)
  • 3 of 4 — Fortnite align star sensors by damaging them in the correct order (5)
  • 4 of 4 — Interact with cosmic monitor (1)
  • 1 of 2 — Make contact with AMIE at a Hologram Brazier (1)
  • 2 of 2 — Collect three objects to act as AI test vessels in a single match (3)
  • 1 of 3 — Make contact with AMIE at a Hologram Brazier (1)
  • 2 of 3 — Send the test vessels through AMIE’s Test Rift (3)
  • 3 of 3 — Recover AMIE’s test vessels and observe the results (3)

Fortnite Quests — Explorer

The Fortnite Explorer quests provide some quick tasks to get your season (and chapter) started with an XP boost:

  • Land on the new island (1)
  • Visit The Citadel, Anvil Square, and Shattered Slabs (3)
  • Search Fortnite Oathbound Chests (5)
  • Collect a Fortnite Shockwave Hammer and an Ex-Caliber Rifle in a single match (2)
  • Activate Fortnite Augments (20)
  • Land at Hot Spots (3)
  • Eliminate opponents (25)
  • Hurdle over objects (15)
  • Reach 10 players remaining in a match (1)

Fortnite Quests — Milestones

Fortnite Milestones quests run for the course of the season, due to the high targets you’re required to hit. Each of these Fortnite quests has 20 stages, though thankfully each stage has the same target so they don’t get increasingly difficult as you progress. For example, Stage 1 of 20 Search chests or ammo boxes starts at 0/75, but once you complete this it moves on to Stage 2 of 20 Search chests or ammo boxes 75/150, so you only have search 75 chests or ammo boxes for each stage, or 1,500 times in total.

With that in mind, here are all of the Fortnite Milestones quests with their target for each stage, and the total amount across all 20 stages:

  • Activate augments (25) > (500)
  • Damage opponents (4,500) > (90,000)
  • Eliminate opponents (25) > (500)
  • Gain shields (1,000) > (20,000)
  • Outlast players (750) > (15,000)
  • Restore health (1,000) > (20,000)
  • Search chests or ammo boxes (75) > (1,500)
  • Tame or hunt wildlife (20) > (400)
  • Travel distance in a vehicle (5,000) > (100,000)
  • Travel distance while sprinting (5,000) > (100,000)

Where to find three protected eggs

Chu-Chu Charles has rushed to the indie horror scene with a miraculous demonic spider train that can only be defeated by finding three eggs. These eggs produce energy that calls out to Charles but leaves him vulnerable. By collecting all three eggs, players can kill Charles once and for all, saving the island.

Each egg is stored in labyrinthine shafts full of thugs, perhaps inspired by the mines and caves in the survival horror game The Forest. The player must travel to three shafts, avoid the Charles-masked enemies, and grab the egg lying somewhere inside. Each mine is more difficult to pass than the previous one. The suggested order for collecting the three eggs in Choo-Choo Charles is Green Monster Egg in the South Mine, Blue Monster Egg in the North Mine, and Red Monster Egg in the Central Mine, also known as the Tomb. nine0003

Players learn about monster eggs from Helen, an NPC found along the train tracks in the southern part of the map. Players must talk to her to get the key to the South Mine. The mine is located north-northeast of Helen’s location, not far from the tracks. Since the only weapon and armor upgrades in Chu-Chu Charles are part of the player’s train, they will have to avoid thugs inside the mine rather than fight them. Once the players have the key, they must go through the shaft, grab the Green Monster Egg and escape. nine0008

As the name suggests, the Blue Monster Egg and North Mine in Chu-Chu Charles are in the northern part of the island. Players get the key to this mine from Greg, a bald and shirtless NPC found on the east path of the north end. The location of the mine will be marked on the map after receiving the key from Greg. There are more thugs in the North Mine that can work well as enemies in Bendy and the Dark Revival. The blue monster’s egg is behind the gate with the lever. Players must open the gate and grab the egg before the gate closes and traps them. nine0003

The last guarded egg in Choo-Choo Charles, the Red Monster Egg, is the hardest to collect. The key to this mine is held by Gale, an NPC south of Greg’s location on the same path. He will mark the Central Mine on the map. The mine is the most difficult to explore due to the many levels and the large number of thugs. Players must use elevators to get to different levels, which may remind some of the elevator required to access the true ending of Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach. There is one elevator leading to the egg and another elevator that will take the players out of the mine. nine0003

After collecting all the guarded eggs in Choo-Choo Charles, players can get the Temple Key from Paul, found on the north side of the island.
