Hello!

It’s time for a pre-release of the upcoming big «Generous» Minecraft update. It will be version 1.8 and it will be available in launchers on Tuesday, the second of September (the school year starts well, you can’t say anything ;)). The preparation of the update took over 300 days, and as a result … many, many changes!

These changes consist of both new functionality and major changes to the game’s structure, such as replacing the block renderer with a new one (which can take the shape of a block from a file) or performance improvements, such as a multi-threaded client-side chunk renderer. We hope you will be satisfied!

Here is the list of major changes:

  • Added stone blocks: granite, andesite and diorite, as well as their smooth versions;
  • Slime block added;
  • Iron hatch added;
  • Added prismarine and underwater lantern;
  • Added Ocean Monument;
  • Added red sandstone;
  • Banners added;
  • Added armor stands;
  • Added poor soil (land that does not grow grass)
