Would I be getting a great classic Mega Man game with minimal Role Playing Game elements, or would I get more of a true Battle Network type game? I was quite satisfied to find out that this game has a near perfect balance of both.

If you never played a Mega Man Battle Network game, play the GBA versions in numeric order to understand and to get the most out of the game. This is a game that probably could have been great if some design issues were worked out.

This was, in my opinion, such a fantastic and perfect blend of old school side scrolling MegaMan with the Battle Network system.
Arika This was, in my opinion, such a fantastic and perfect blend of old school side scrolling MegaMan with the Battle Network system. Arika couldnt have given me a better MegaMan game. Network Transmission updates EVERYTHING about classic MegaMan, great side scrolling levels, great cel shaded graphics, fun weapon chips to use, and one of the best music soundtracks of ANY MegaMan game (thier insanely catchy). A good word to the wise though, the game is EXTREMELY HARD, probably the hardest MegaMan game to have come out in the entire MegaMan series ( yes even the X series). But overall i enjoyed the game tremendously from beginning to end. My 3rd favorite MegaMan game ever, which is only next to MegaMan 8 and MegaMan X… Expand-

I just wish they had used the English dub voices from the anime instead of sticking with the Japanese voices that I can’t understand.… Expand-

Chips
Okay, here’s how the chips work: Go into the Folder from the menu and you’ll see a blue screen chips listed on them.
This is the folder and can hold up to 20 chips. If you tap to the right here you can see a listing of all the other chips you have. If you want to be able to use them you’ll have to move them over to the folder. If there are empty space in the folder just click on an item to send it over, but if you’re full you’ll have to pick the item, move back to the folder and pick another item to switch the two.

Now, when you request chips you’ll be randomly given five of the chips from the folder to use. You can make sure that you’re given one favorite weapon by highlighting it with the Z trigger in the folder menu. Other than that, it’s all up to luck.
In battle, the number of each type of chip is limited. When you run out, though, don’t worry: you haven’t lost these chips for good. They’ll regenerate if you Jack Out or beat the area.
Hints and Tips
- Make sure that you’ve got a fairly plentiful, powerful weapon as your default chip, since you can find yourself completely screwed if you don’t have a decent attack chip.
Cannon, Shotgun, V Gun and so on are all good choices. - When making long jumps, be sure to move your character as far to the edge of the ledge you’re jumping off of as possible. By making tiny taps on the d-pad, you should be able to keep moving forward until your back foot is halfway off the platform.
- Your default gun’s rate of fire is limited by the fact that you can only have two bullets on screen at once. In order to be able to fire faster, stand closer to whatever you’re shooting so that the bullets don’t take as long to travel to their targets.
- Always remember your Mega Man logic. Water beats Fire beats Wood beats Electricty beats Water
- In order to get the best chips from enemies, you’ve got to kill them fast. Once you’ve memorized enemy locations you should even try shooting them while they’re off screen, killing them before you even see them.
- Once you acquire the Double Jump chip, keep it on you at all times.
You never know when you’ll need it to get somewhere. Unless, of course, you follow the walkthrough! - The same goes for the subchips which can be bought at the shop. Make sure you’ve always got plenty of Unlockers and FullEnerg’s handy.
- When fighting bosses, make sure that your charge bar is full before you begin the fight, in case you need to switch weapons fast.
- Whenever you find yourself down to your last life, Jack Out immediately. You don’t want to lose all the items and money you’ve collected.
