Gothic: Hot Pursuit is a racing video game released in late 2010 developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts. It is based on the player’s choice of the role of a policeman or a fugitive.
A new version called «Remastered» was released on November 6, 2020, almost 10 years after the first one was launched, and is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and also on Nintendo Switch.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit takes place in an imaginary region of Seacrest County, offering a vast and varied environment, from high snow-capped mountains to sandy beaches and inhospitable deserts. The car will be subject to climate change, as well as the change of day and night.
The game offers a career mode divided into two parts, based on the confrontation (classic for the series) between the police and the «racers».
So Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit offers a dual concept, on the one hand, the possibility of embodying the Seacrest County Police Force, on the other — «racers» (or «fugitives»).
Several race types are available. As an escape, the player will sometimes have to buy time in the classic time trial mode, try to escape the police in a ranking chase, or participate in simple races without the presence of the police. - Race: You must be the first to cross the finish line.
- Time Trial: You will need to beat the stopwatch to find out the fastest time on the track.
- Duel: one-on-one race.
- Pursuit: You will need to beat the stopwatch to get the maximum time and escape the police at the same time.
- Police Events
- Hellish Pursuit: You’ll have to stop as many suspects as possible to end the wild race.
- Interception: You will need to arrest the suspect as quickly as possible.
- Quick Intervention: You will need to travel to a designated location in a short amount of time to lend a helping hand to your colleagues.

Criterion Games License Pass
During E3 2009, John Riccitello, CEO of Criterion Games, hinted that he was working on a «revolutionary» return of Series Need for Speed stating that he is not working on the new Burnout, because his development team is already working on the new Need for Speed .
A release for the fourth quarter of 2010 was also presented. It was officially announced at E3 2010 from a trailer showing a scene in which the police were chasing three fugitives. He also showed several attacks that can be performed in the game, such as summoning a helicopter or dropping harrows. The trailer was followed by a live show of a runaway police chase, with director Craig Sullivan and runaway producer Matt Webster acting as cops. According to John Riccitello, the game was in development for two years.

A demo consisting of two races (one for each «camp») was available for download on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network (PlayStation Store) until .
DLC Packs
DLC ( downloadable content ) was offered at . It’s called « Super Sports Pack » and costs €6.99 (or 560 Microsoft Points).
It offers three additional vehicles (Bugatti Veyron SS, Porsche 911 GT2 and Apollo Gumpert) in both civilian and police versions, as well as thirteen new races evenly distributed. This bundle is available on Xbox Live as well as the PlayStation Network.
Three new DLCs were offered in 2011: « Armed and Dangerous Pack «, « Indomitable Lamborghini Pack » and « Porsche Pack Go Free «.
- The first set includes two new game modes: Public Enemy n o 1 and Arm Wrestling . At Public Enemy n o 1 the police will stop said driver and carry out an underground attack. Hot Pursuit’s gameplay is close to the roots of the Need for Speed series, bringing exotic cars and police chases back to the game.
Hot Pursuit is playable as both a cop and a racer and includes a full career mode for both sides. The relationship between cops and racers is described as «dog chasing rabbit» with more powerful cops compared to racers. Each side has several bonuses, including a roadblock call and radar jamming. The game takes place in a fictional location called Seacrest County. Seacrest County has over 100 miles (160 km) of open roads, four times as many as Paradise City, the city of Burnout Paradise. - Hot Pursuit also features a new social interaction system called «Autolog», which is described as «Facebook for the game».
