Bei einem RGB-Lüfter handelt es sich um einen einfachen Gehäuselüfter, der werkseitig vom Hersteller mit kleinen LEDs ausgestattet wurde. Diese LEDs weisen eine besondere Technik auf, sodass sie nicht nur in einer, sondern in bis zu 16,7 Mio. Farben leuchten können. Viele Modelle lassen sich über eine Software oder mithilfe einer Fernbedienung sogar noch weiter personalisieren. So kannst du zwischen unterschiedlichen Modi wählen, in denen der Lüfter blinkt, flackert, sich die Farben wellenartig bewegen oder vieles mehr. Mit den richtigen Bauteilen lassen sie sich auch in das System so integrieren, dass sie mit allen anderen Bauteilen farblich synchronisieren.
Technisch unterscheidet sich ein solches Modell kaum von einem herkömmlichen, nicht beleuchteten Lüfter. Im Endeffekt handelt es sich auch hierbei um einen kleinen Ventilator der Luft erzeugt, um interne Bauteile zu kühlen und Wärme abzuleiten. Dies ist unglaublich wichtig, wie wir dir im nächsten Abschnitt erläutern.
Wozu benötige ich Gehäuselüfter?
Dein Computer nutzt Strom, um zu funktionieren und überall wo Strom fließt, da entsteht auch Wärme. Vor allem dein Prozessor, aber auch deine Grafikkarte, benötigt viel elektrische Energie, wodurch sie sich am stärksten erwärmt. Aber auch der Arbeitsspeicher, das Mainboard oder deine Massenspeicher erzeugen Wärme. Diese kann sich im Gehäuseinneren stauen, wodurch die Innentemperatur immer mehr ansteigt. Kommt es zu einem Hitzestau, können wichtige Bauteile wie CPU (Central Processing Unit) und GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) nicht mehr ausreichend gekühlt werden. Dies hat zur Folge, dass sich diese Bauteile heruntertakten und langsamer werden. Das führt dazu, dass Spiele weniger Bilder pro Sekunde erreichen oder du beim Bearbeiten von Bildern oder Videos viel länger warten musst.
Hier kommen Gehäuselüfter am PC-Gehäuse zum Einsatz, denn diese sorgen dafür, dass kühle Luft in das Gehäuse hineinströmt, während warme Luft rausgeleitet wird.
Je stärker und schneller dein PC ist, desto mehr Lüfter benötigst du.
Wie wird ein Lüfter richtig platziert und eingebaut? – Der Airflow
Beim Einbau eines Gehäuselüfters, egal ob mit RGB oder ohne, musst du einige physikalische Gesetze beachten. Wie wir bereits in der Schule gelernt haben steigt warme Luft nach oben, während kältere Luft nach unten sinkt. Dieses Wissen kannst du dir auch beim Einbau deiner Lüfter zu Nutzen machen. Es macht viel Sinn, ein bis drei RGB-Lüfter in der Front des Gehäuses zu platzieren, welche kühle Luft nach Innen leiten. Wenn du die Möglichkeit hast, kannst du auch ein bis zwei weitere Lüfter am Boden festschrauben. Diese können dann noch kühlere Luft direkt auf die Grafikkarte pusten. Damit die erzeugte Wärme schnellstmöglich abgeleitet wird, verbaust du einen weiteren Lüfter an der Rückseite des PCs. Besteht die Möglichkeit, kannst du weitere Ventilatoren direkt im Dach verbauen. Hier kannst du am meisten Wärme ableiten. Die richtige Platzierung erzeugt den sogenannten „Airflow“, was übersetzt so viel heißt wie „Luftstrom“.
Jeder Gamer versucht den möglichst besten Weg zu finden, dass die interne Hardware gut gekühlt ist. Für Office-PCs ist dies in erster Linie nicht so wichtig.

RGB Lüfter an anderen Bauteilen
Natürlich kannst du deine RGB-Lüfter auch an anderen Bauteilen verwenden, zum Beispiel am CPU-Kühler. Egal ob du dir einen Luftkühler oder eine Wasserkühlung anschaffen möchtest, beide Möglichkeiten unterstützen auch RGB-Lüfter.
Allerdings musst du dich im Vorfeld beim Hersteller informieren, ob die Lüfter auch ausreichend Druck für die Kühlung erzeugen. Vor allem bei Radiatoren wirst du einige Unterschiede zwischen den Lüftern feststellen, da der Luftstrom bei jedem Modell anders ausfallen kann. Während ein Lüfter dafür sorgt, dass deine CPU sehr kühl bleibt, kann ein ganz anderer Lüfter den Prozessor ins Schwitzen bringen. Wir raten dir demnach dazu, vorher genaue Infos zum gewünschten RGB-Lüfter einzuholen.
So legst du die unterschiedlichen Farben fest
Nun fragst du dich sicherlich auch wie du die einzelnen Farben eines RGB-Ventilators festlegen kannst. Und hier gibt es wohl die meisten Unterschiede, denn jeder Hersteller geht einen anderen Weg. Manch ein Unternehmen liefert dir zusammen mit den Lüftern einen speziellen Controller, an den du alle Gehäuselüfter anschließen kannst. Diese lassen sich dann mit Hilfe einer Fernbedienung steuern. Dabei kannst du nicht nur die Farben, sondern auch die Lüftergeschwindigkeit festlegen.
Diese Art der Installation und Steuerung sorgt allerdings häufig für reichlich Kabelsalat im System. Zudem muss auch dieser Controller mittels eines speziellen RGB-Kabels an dein Mainboard angeschlossen werden.
Eine etwas einfachere Variante ist der direkte Anschluss an das Mainboard. Hierbei liefert jeder Lüfter sein eigenes Lüfterkabel sowie sein eigenes RGB-Kabel mit. Nun verfügt jedes Mainboard über maximal zwei RGB-Anschlüsse, sodass du nicht alles anschließen kannst. Hier hilft ein RGB-Splitterkabel weiter, mit dem du deine RGB-Lüfter verbinden kannst. Für lediglich 10 Euro bekommst du schon einen Splitter mit bis zu neun Anschlüssen. Hast du alles richtig verbunden, kannst du deine Lüfter mit der mitgelieferten Software vom Mainboardhersteller steuern.
Tipp: Aktuell gehört Asus zu den Herstellern mit dem besten und ausgewogensten RGB-System. Verwendest du mehr als nur RGB-Lüfter (RGB-Grafikkarte, RGB-Kühler, RGB-RAM), dann ist das Asus Aura System zu empfehlen.
Gibt es Unterschiede beim Preis?
Bist du auf der Suche nach einem neuen Lüfter, werden dir Modelle in den unterschiedlichsten Preisklassen begegnen.
Von rund acht Euro bis zu 25 Euro für einen beleuchteten Lüfter ist alles dabei. Ohne Beleuchtung, kannst du sogar Schnäppchen für rund zwei bis drei Euro machen. Doch wirst du große Unterschiede zwischen den einzelnen Lüftern merken. Zum einen sind sehr günstige RGB-Lüfter häufig sehr dunkel und die Farben wirken etwas ausgewaschen, was den Gesamteindruck des PCs trüben kann. Hinzu kommt, dass die Software bei manch einem Lüfter nicht so funktioniert, wie du es dir vielleicht wünscht. Schlimmer jedoch ist das verwendete Material sowie die Kühlleistung. Während hochwertige Lüfter auf qualitativ hochwertige Lager setzen, die viele Tausend Stunden überstehen, ist ein Ausfall eines günstigen Lüfters fast gewiss.
Tipp: Das heißt natürlich nicht, dass du den teuersten Lüfter kaufen sollst, sondern viel mehr, dass du die Augen aufhältst, welches Modell das beste Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis bietet. Natürlich spielt bei einem RGB-Lüfter aber auch das Aussehen eine große Rolle.
Achtung: Achte auf das Format!
Eine Einheitsgröße wirst du auf der Suche nach RGB-Lüftern nicht finden, denn jedes Gehäuse und jeder Kühler hat andere Abmessungen.
Demnach musst du dich vorher informieren, welche Größe deine neuen Lüfter vorweisen dürfen. Im schlimmsten Fall passen die Bohrungen nicht und du musst deine Bestellung retournieren. Die mittlerweile gebräuchlichsten Größen sind 80mm, 120mm und 140mm. Darüber hinaus existieren noch einige andere Größen, die allerdings nur werkseitig von einigen Herstellern zum Einsatz kommen und für denjenigen, der seinen PC aufrüsten möchte, weniger Bedeutung haben.
Lüfter oder Kühler?
Bevor wir dir die besten RGB-Lüfter auf dem Markt näher vorstellen, möchten wir dir noch eine wichtige Übersicht mit auf den Weg geben. Viele Anwender haben oftmals das Problem, dass sie nicht wissen, was sie benötigen. Häufig wird der Kühler mit dem Lüfter vertauscht, was bei einer Suche nach neuen Produkten schnell nerven kann.
Kühler:
Der Kühler ist ein massiver Körper aus Metall, bei dem Aluminium und Kupfer zum Einsatz kommt. Er wird auf besonders heißen Bauteilen, wie der CPU oder der GPU, platziert, damit die Wärme schnellstmöglich abgeleitet wird.
An ihm befestigt ist in den meisten Fällen ein Lüfter.
Lüfter:
Der Lüfter ist kein Kühlkörper, sondern lediglich das bewegliche Teil daran. Er sorgt dafür, dass erwärmte Bauteile schnell von Hitze befreit werden, indem er wie ein Ventilator Luft bewegt.
Tipp: Diese Unterscheidung ist vor allem in vielen Hardware-Shops wichtig, denn Lüfter und Kühler werden immer streng voneinander getrennt.
