Racing fans around the world are excited about the arrival of F1 22 later this year.

The single-seater series gained massive popularity in 2021 thanks to the way that the championship panned out between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen and the emergence of eSports competition.

As a result, fans, young and old, will be keen to find out everything about this year’s game from EA and Codemasters. The launch of F1 22 is just around the corner now and while we don’t know absolutely everything about it just yet, the excitement is beginning to ramp up once more.

UPDATE 2nd August 2022: The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, or the Portimão circuit of Portugal will be introduced to F1 22 today (August 2nd 2022) through a free update for all gamers, according to EA Sports and Codemasters.

UPDATE: 24th June 2022: The latest instalment in the F1 franchise will now feature a 33-song soundtrack featuring well-known artists such as Charli XCX, Hozier, Marshmellow, and James Bay.

UPDATE: 17th June 2022: The first glimpse of EA SPORTS F1® 22 gameplay captured in VR was published today by Codemasters® and Electronic Arts Inc. ahead of this weekend’s Formula 1 AWS Grand Prix Du Canada 2022.

UPDATE 15th June 2022: The next EA SPORTS F1 22 game will include a revamped tyre model, adjustments to the My Team managerial option, and cross-platform online play after launch.

UPDATE 9th June 2022: The official achievements list for F1 22 was revealed ahead of the game’s eagerly anticipated release in a few weeks’ time.

UPDATE 8th June 2022: Codemasters are launching a trio of gameplay trailers ahead of next month’s release. The first focused on physics and handling – where we saw the possibility of seeing ground effect show off porpoising on track.

UPDATE 31st May 2022: A new gameplay features trailer for F1 2022 has confirmed the existence of Portimao and China tracks in the new game, along with plenty of other updates, including new handling, F1 Sprint, and plenty of circuit updates!

EA and Codemasters finally lifted the lid and revealed some of the crucial details ahead of this summer’s release of F1 22.

UPDATE 20th April 2022: THE COUNTDOWN IS ON!

An official timer appeared on EA’s official website that suggested that F1 22 would be revealed to the world on Thursday 21st April 2022 at 4pm BST. Buckles yourselves in, Formula 1 fans!

UPDATE 3rd March 2022: Some interesting details coming out about F1 2022 today. Reports suggest that supercars will be included as part of an interesting new game mode that Codemasters look set to include.

UPDATE 17th January 2022: While an official announcement has yet to be made regarding F1 2022 – fans of the series will be hoping to see crossplay included for the first time.

F1 2022 Release Date

An official release date was finally confirmed by EA and players will be happy to know that the game will be released in the summer.

It has been revealed that the game will be released on Friday 1st July 2022.

As Formula 1 fans, F1 22 is naturally one of our most anticipated new racing games this year.

Codemasters’ run with the Formula 1 license has gone from strength to strength, and now under the EA umbrella even greater things are expected.

Now that Codemasters has announced F1 22, we finally know the release date!

Hands-on with F1 Life and supercars

F1 22 release date announced

Codemasters has confirmed F1 22 will release on 1 July 2022. Players can also preorder the Champions Edition. As for platforms, F1 22 will release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

The Codemasters F1 games have offered early access through a high-level edition of the game for the last few years. F1 22 is no exception.

Preordering the Champions Edition provides three days early access to F1 22. This will enable players to access F1 22 as early as 28 June. The Champions Edition also includes a timed-exclusive Miami-inspired content pack.
