Battle.net is what Diablo wouldn’t be Diablo without. All owners of licensed discs of the game can play for free on battle.net. Bnet brings together a whole gaming community that lives by special laws. Numerous clans are created here, which are constantly at enmity with each other. Sometimes serious wars arise here, which sometimes get out of the scope of bneta in other games.
What are the differences between bnet Diablo and Diablo II? The current bnete has enhanced protection against hackers and the use of illegal copies of the game. To protect against hackers, they hired the hackers themselves, who led the raid while playing Diablo.
If you remember, there was a group called «Dark Side» with the notorious Bobafett, who wrote the famous trainer for Diablo. But still, hacker raids continue to this day, successfully taking down numerous servers. The latest example is the attacks of disgruntled German hackers who expressed their protest against Blizzard’s hacking on users’ disks after the release of patch 1.06. This is contrary to German law, so the Germans staged lynching, not seeing Blizzard’s response to the protests filed.
What is copy protection? First, there is the CD-key, which is a kind of password. Individuals with the same key will not be able to play on bnet at the same time. Secondly, there is the game.exe file, which determines whether the native disc is inserted into the CD-ROM, or if it is a copy. In the latter case, a painfully familiar window appears for everyone:
And already when connecting to bnet, the integrity of game.exe is checked, and if a change in its size or structure is detected, a polite message is displayed stating that you have Diablo II on the wrong system :).
A working CD-key can be obtained using key generators. But finding a worker among a bunch of generated ones is like a needle in a haystack. Some users lure foreign players out of the keys to their own games. As a rule, their victims are children who, in their naivety, lay out the key to their copy of the game. This method is not very clean, and you have to fall too low to use it. Some figures sell working passwords, which is reminiscent of the sale of stolen logins and passwords from the Internet.
The second problem is bypassing game.exe protection. The craftsmen successfully coped with this. What did they do? They blinded an alternative pair of dload.exe and game.exe, naming them differently and leaving the originals alone. Dload accesses the broken game.exe, which has a different name, and then the game starts in the usual way. Those. the old ballast files are present in the installation directory and are only needed for the bnet verification procedure.

Algorithm for using the above tutorial
- Make Multiplayer-Install.
- Copy D2Music.mpq from the second disc (labeled Play) to the same folder where you installed the game.
- Install patch v1.02
- Drop the DLoad.exe and Game_crk.exe tutorial files into the same folder where you installed the game.
- Launch Diablo II via DLoad.exe. (Play disc must be in the drive.)
- Install patch v1.08 and exit the game.
- Remove the Play Disc.
- Rename Game_crk2.exe to Game_crk.exe and overwrite the old one in the folder with the game installed.
- Start the game again via DLoad.exe.
- That’s it, you can play Battle.net without a disc.
Note #1 : If you only play Single Player, then just rename game_crk2.exe to game_crk.exe immediately after installing patch v1.08 over the current version of Diablo II.
Note #2 : originally this algorithm was developed for owners of a licensed version who decided to make an image of their CD on a hard drive. Therefore, the owners of the pirated version should not be deceived — you need to have a real CD-key, which the above-mentioned owners have :). Therefore, owners of pirates are often content with the #1 note for playing Single with a new patch.
Note #3 : if you are going to buy the licensed version in a pool, then keep in mind that with one correct CD-key on battle.net you cannot play simultaneously with two or more players. You will have to do this in turn, which often leads to conflicts :).
Commands used when playing on Battle.net
/help [command] — displays a hint for the selected command
/whois [user] — displays information about the specified user, including the name of the game or channel where he is currently located. For the same purposes, you can use alternative commands: /where /whereis.
/whoami — displays information about you.
/whisper [user] — a message that only the specified user will see. Moreover, it can be on any channel or game. With this command, you can find out the password from him and join the password-protected game. Alternative commands: /w /msg /m .
/squelch [user] — messages sent by this user will not be visible to you. A good method of getting rid of spammers and other online hooligans. Alternative command: /ignore .
/unsquelch [user] — a command that cancels the previous one. Alternative: /unignore .
/away [text] — displays the specified message to anyone who tries to send you a message via /whisper or will make inquiries via /whois . To cancel, type this command again.
/dnd [text] — command similar to the previous one. The difference is that messages sent to you will not be displayed. To cancel, type this command again.
/who [channel] — Displays a list of all users on the given channel.
/stats [user] ID — shows Win/Loss/Disconnect statistics for the specified player, where ID: STAR — Starcraft,

Yesterday CD Projekt RED released patch 1.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 , which noticeably refreshed the game in technical terms. The list of fixes and improvements made to the project turned out to be really huge, but not all players were able to appreciate them.
So, users of the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro consoles began to complain that after downloading the latest update, their disk copies of Cyberpunk simply stopped running. When you start the game, the system gives a data corruption error and asks you to remove the application from the console, and then insert the disc again .

The problem is widespread and is already known to the developers, but there is no exact solution to fix it yet — reinstallation does not help .
