Strike — Destinypedia, the Destiny wiki

From Destinypedia, the Destiny wiki

«Strikes are the backbone of the Vanguard’s response to the Darkness. Each mission is planned for maximum disruption and hindrance of enemy lines. Your Strike service directly impacts our ongoing war with the Darkness. So serve well.«
— Commander Zavala

Strike is a cooperative mode featured in Destiny. Strikes represent a middle ground in PvE content between Story missions and Raids in terms of length and difficulty, and are optimized for a fireteam of three players. Usually, Strikes are composed of a linear series of enemy encounters which may or may not include a mini-boss, culminating in a battle against one or more bosses supported by additional enemies.[1] Some of the newer strikes feature simple puzzle mechanics that make boss fights more challenging.

As of The Taken King, Strikes have a chance to drop Strike-specific loot that can help gear players up in preparation for Raids. Playing in a Strike playlist continuously increases the chances of better loot on consecutive strikes.

Nightfall Strikes[edit]

Main article: Nightfall

A random Strike is selected each week for the Nightfall Strike, a high-difficulty challenge with the Nightfall and Epic modifiers active in addition to three other randomly-chosen modifiers; after The Taken King is released, the latter three modifiers will be manually selected by Bungie each week instead of randomized. Nightfall Strikes do not include matchmaking, requiring players to fight alone or assemble a fireteam of three before starting. Rewards include Legendary and Exotic gear.[2]

    ARK Star

If you’re already familiar with the Arcade, you’ve probably heard of Daniel Altman (Pirate) , who won the 2015 Arcade contest.

On this map, you will go on a space journey with the elite squad of Templar Sol Seekers (Seekers of the Sun), who vowed to find and destroy the mysterious weapon ARK Star. You can find and create new equipment for your fighters, and as you level up, you will unlock a variety of new talents and abilities. Now your enemies will feel what the true wrath of the Templars is!

The ARK Star Card will be available for purchase for ₽299 (with a portion of the proceeds from sales going to Pirate). In addition, you will receive such an exclusive portrait.

If you want to share your impressions with Daniel or point out any problems, write to him at [email protected]. He can also be contacted on Twitter (@Piratearcade) or on his Discord channel.

    Direct Strike

Cards Tya are well known in the gaming community. New creation by this author, Desert Strike , is an improved version of the Desert Strike HotS map — one of the most popular maps in the history of the Arcade. Desert Strike itself will remain free-to-play, but this premium version introduces cosmetic improvements and additional modes.

For those unfamiliar with the original, in Desert Strike players compete against each other by collecting units in their base and sending them to attack the enemy base.

Direct Strike will replace Desert Strike HotS in the Arcade, but all the features of this map you love will remain in the free version — and this is not counting additional modes with commanders. And if you decide to purchase the premium version, you will get four new game modes, in particular, Sabotage (where you do not see the enemy base and can prohibit the selection of certain units) and Switch (where you can change the race right in the middle of the battle). In addition, you can redesign your base and give your workers a bit of personality with cosmetic upgrades. And one more thing: if you open a lobby with a game in one of the premium modes, anyone with a free version can join it!

The premium version of Direct Strike will be available for 299 ₽ (part of the sales proceeds will be donated to Tya). And it also comes with an exclusive portrait as a gift.
