Dead space screenshots: Dead Space Remake Reveals New Screenshots

Dead Space Remake Reveals New Screenshots

By Tanner Fox

New screenshots and digital store listings appear for EA and Motive Studios’ upcoming Dead Space remake ahead of its late January release.

The release of EA subsidiary Motive Studios’ highly-anticipated Dead Space remake is slated for late January 2023, and new screenshots and digital storefront listings hint that the publisher is preparing new teaser content to fill the roughly four-month gap. In mid-September, EA uploaded the first of a series of blog posts titled “Inside Dead Space” to its website which detailed the work that’s being done to “honor the legacy” of Dead Space, and a set of recently-released screenshots showcase what that philosophy looks like in practice.

The first of the three screenshots seems to depict an early encounter with a necromorph. Isaac is seen wielding his iconic Plasma Cutter as the body-horror abomination bears down on him, the weapon’s laser sight trained precisely on the enemy’s shoulder, the arm having recently been blasted off. The Dead Spaceseries was, of course, remembered for its stellar combat mechanics which demanded accuracy and mandated that players target enemy limbs first, and this deadly doctrine looks to have been maintained in the remake.

The second screenshot grants a peek at another fairly early-game area, though the third shows off a hitherto-unseen zero-gravity section. This is of particular interest, because, of the game’s many areas, these were probably the most in need of revamping. In an August 31 developer livestream, members of the Motive Studios team showed some zero-gravity gameplay and indicated that these segments would be refined, and, when paired with the stellar visual flair seen in the screenshot, it feels as if the remake may do an excellent job of shuffling off the limitations of its nearly fifteen-year-old predecessor.

That said, while authenticity does seem to be a key component of the Dead Space remake, Motive Studios has elected to make a few non-insignificant deviations, the most notable of which was the decision to give the once silent protagonist Isaac Clarke a voice. Gunner Wright, the voice actor who provided Clarke’s sparse speech in the original trilogy, is set to reprise his role, though, given how infrequent conversations between characters were in the original game, this addition isn’t likely to be too intrusive.

Additionally, while sci-fi horror fans are certainly eager to get their hands on the game in early 2023, the Dead Space remake will have to share some of the limelight with Striking Distance Studios’ The Callisto Protocol, which is slated for a December 2, 2022 release. Helmed by Glen Schofield, co-creator of the Dead Space series, Striking Distance Studio’s effort looks to tread a lot of the same territory as EA’s sci-fi horror series, though, given the traditionally niche appeal of horror media, there’s certainly more than enough room for both titles.

Dead Space will release on January 27, 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Official Dead Space Remake Screenshots Surface via Store Listing, Mentions «In-App Purchases»

EA has released the first official Dead Space remake screenshots as part of the game’s Xbox Store listing that went live today, alongside other info about the upcoming horror revival.

Check out the Dead Space remake screenshots below, which we got straight from the Xbox Store:

In addition to the screenshots, the game’s official store description lists down some of the features as well. However, before diving into that, we noticed that the store mentions that the game will feature “in-app purchases,” suggesting that microtransactions will be available for the single-player game.

Here’s a screenshot of it:

Note that the first game’s console version also featured in-game purchases in the form of DLC of new skins and upgrades for various weapons, though we honestly expected those to be part of the base game for the remake. In addition to that, the Xbox Live Marketplace also featured a bunch of Dead Space themed items for your Xbox avatar too.

Here is the game’s official description via the Xbox Store:

New screenshots of Dead Space 3

The developers continue to delight fans with fresh screenshots from the game. Let me remind you that in the third part of the game, Isaac continues his «exciting expedition» in space. This time, Sergeant John Carver will help him in the fight against Necromorphs (and not only).

And the most interesting thing is that they devote most of their time to the cooperative mode. A friend can calm…

    Cold (Prevent)

Inaccurate that the original DEAD SPACE was. It was most like a collection of cliches from various sci-fi films — from Ridley Scott’s Alien to Poul Anderson’s Horizon Horizon — and slow, sluggish gameplay both atmospheric and tedious. The sequel, released three years later, undertook to correct the situation … dead space 2 . Although the remake of Motive has some changes made to dead space , it seems that the franchise’s ancillary operation is maintained. Keep reading to find out how to use it.

how to get infinite money in dead space refurbishment

Here’s an overview: stand next to the shop and bench, those workstations scattered throughout the game that allow you to upgrade your weapons and suit. Take out your pulse rifle using its alternate fire (R1), which drops a proximity mine that you can turn into gunpowder (again with R1) until it explodes. These converted mines will be added to your inventory if you don’t load them into your rifle.

Do not download them. Sell them for 2,500 credits per pack. Repairing your weapon costs 5,000 credits, and when you specifically target an ability upgrade, your weapon automatically reloads as part of the upgrade (no need to look through your inventory or sell ammo). without having to use it) and more room for ammo. The more ammo your weapon can hold, the more you can sell it without ammo.

This is an exploit — use R1 to unload your rifle, turn mines into tradable ammo and use money to buy more knots, an in-game upgrade currency to improve your weapon’s capabilities. Even after you’ve exhausted all ability nodes, you can keep buying respect to restart the process and make a profit. Repeat until you get bored.

how to get a pulse rifle dead space

The exploit works (it works with the Line Gun, also found in chapter 4, although the Pulse Rifle provides nodes with more potential), but it has some barriers to entry.

g/o media can earn a commission

    improve blood flow
BrainMD claims this patented supplement increases blood flow to aid your cognitive and cardiovascular function.

Of course, the first thing you need to do is get the pulse rifle, which is the fastest firing shotgun in the game, and you don’t get it until chapter 2, Intensive Care.

But once you get to chapter 2, finding the rifle becomes easier. At the very beginning of the chapter, use the Kinesis module you just picked up to move some magnetic boxes. Walk down the sloping corridor and enter the room marked «Medical Tram Stop». enter the room. A dying security officer (RIP) holding a rifle.

Once she has breathed her last few breaths, you can take it from her and add it to your weapon wheel (Barbarism).

How to upgrade your weapon on the bench

As another Reddit commenter points out, it’s best to use this exploit after you have seven nodes.

On the way to upgrade the rifle, seven knots are used for four ability upgrades. Having multiple ability upgrades ensures that the cost of enchanting a weapon will not exceed or equal the cost of the bullets you have landed.

    Profit!

It is best to use this exploit both near the store and the bench — at the beginning of the game you can find the flight deck at the tram stop.

However, wherever you choose to sell and upgrade, groaning Necromorphs will flock to you, attracted by your entrepreneurial spirit. If you need to take them out and save your hide, make sure you use a weapon other than a pulse rifle so you don’t run out of stock.
