Dead by Daylight Public Test Build Update Tweaks The Knight

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive is testing changes for the Knight, the asymmetric horror game’s troubled new Killer.
Behaviour Interactive is testing changes for Dead by Daylight‘s upcoming Killer, the Knight. Dead by Daylight is constantly releasing new Survivors and Killers into the asymmetric multiplayer horror game. The aggressive release schedule means that Behaviour Interactive is iterating on and testing every Dead by Daylight character leading all the way up to their launch. The Knight received some criticism in testing up to this point, but Behaviour is hoping to have a solution for Dead by Daylight players by the Knight’s arrival.
The Dead by Daylight Knight killer is tentatively planned for release alongside the game’s Forged In Fog Chapter, arriving on November 22. But the Knight has been available to play on Dead by Daylight‘s PTB test server for some time now, with some questioning if the Killer is ready for release. The Knight’s abilities focus on summoning different types of Guards that can patrol and hunt Survivors in unique ways. The Guards’ AI has been a focus of criticism, though, as some players don’t think they’re reliable.

In the latest PTR update, Behaviour Interactive has addressed several areas of criticism for the Knight. The first area, and perhaps most significant, is ensuring that the Guards are more responsive. Guards now take 1.5 seconds to appear instead of 2 seconds, they’ll travel to the location where they saw a Survivor in just 2.5 seconds instead of 3, and their detection radius will grow to full size in just 1 second rather than 1.5. This should make the Knight’s gameplay much faster.
The next area of change is counter-play to the Knight’s Guards.
One aspect of the Guards is that they leave a banner after being summoned that can be picked up by a Survivor to de-summon the Guard. All Guards’ banners will now activate more slowly, forcing Survivors to deal with them longer. The Carnifex’s banner activates after 10 seconds instead of 8, and both the Jailer and Assassin’s banners activate after 5 seconds instead of 2. This should extend each Guard’s mid-chase lifespan dramatically.
The last area of focus is regarding Add-Ons, some of which were strong and some of which were weak. Map of the Realm was nerfed, increasing Guard vision to 4 meters instead of 6. Healing Poultice now affects Survivors within 224 meters instead of outside a 32m radius. Flint and Steel only effects unbroken dropped pallets. Lastly, Knight’s Contract was buffed, increasing its range to 12 meters instead of 8.
While the Knight was the main focus of changes for the latest PTB update, Behaviour has made changes to other parts of the next Dead by Daylight Chapter, too.
The new Shattered Square map will be less red, so scratch marks stand out, for example, and the recently announced flashlight buffer should work much more smoothly. There’s still time before Forged In Fog arrives on November 22, so Dead by Daylight players can keep testing the Knight and other content until then.

The multiplayer horror game, Dead by Daylight, is still gaining popularity more than five years after its initial launch which means more and more people are trying to find out if their computer can run it.
In order to run Dead by Daylight on PC, your computer needs to be able to at least pass the minimum system requirements test. Dead by Daylight recently passed the 100,000 concurrent players threshold for the very first time according to SteamDB. This asymmetrical player vs player slaughterfest requires at least an Intel Core i3-4170 or an AMD FX-8120 for CPU, and it needs at least a GeForce GTX 460 or a Radeon HD 6850. DBD also needs 8 GB of RAM, DX 11 capable, and Windows 10 (64-bit). With these specs, the developers suggest that you run the game on Low quality settings. If you want to run Dead by Daylight on a higher graphics setting, then you will need to pass the recommended requirements test as well. For GPU, you need at least a GeForce GTX 760 or a Radeon HD 8800; for CPU, you need at least an Intel Core i3-4170 or an AMD FX-8300.
