CTR cheats, just like CTR itself, are back. The Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled remaster has them too — albeit with only about half of the original cheats still working — so below we’ve laid out all the CTR cheats for both Nitro-Fueled and the original, detailing which ones work and which don’t after we’ve tested them.

How to enter cheats and disable cheats in CTR: Nitro-Fueled

Entering and disabling cheats in Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled works largely the same as it did in the original CTR, only with an added layer of clarity.

How to enter cheats in CTR: Nitro-Fueled

1. Go to the main menu, where you have the options to select Adventure Mode, Arcade, and so on.
2. Hold the two top shoulder buttons on your controller (that’s L1 + R1 on PS4, LB and RB on Xbox One and L and R on Switch).
3. While holding those two buttons, enter the cheat as it appears in our list below.
4. If successful, you’ll get a Cheat Activated notification confirming the cheat’s been activated on-screen.

How to disable cheats in CTR: Nitro-Fueled:

1. After activating a cheat, select Adventure Mode from the main menu.
2. You’ll see a pop-up notificaton titled «Deactivate Cheats» as you do so. Select Continue.
3. The cheat is deactivated — simply press back to go back to the main menu to enter more or go back to whatever you were doing as normal.

Just a couple of other things to note before diving into our full CTR cheat code lists: in our testing it seemed that only one cheat could be activated at a time — entering two in a row would only give the notification for the first — and there was also one cheat that it wasn’t possible to deactivate: Penta Penguin.

Unlock that little critter as a driver and it stays unlocked — the only way we could get back to a state where Penta Penguin wasn’t available after entering the cheat was to load up CTR: Nitro-Fueled on another console where we hadn’t downloaded our cloud save, so it was essentially a completely fresh game.

Easy «Unstoppable» trophy

Combine Power-Slide Turbo, Turbo-Pads, and Turbo-Power Ups to keep your exhaust on fire for a whole lap to get the «Unstoppable» trophy. This can be tricky, but if you want to beat the Oxide Time Trials, it should come naturally at some point. The easiest track to do this on is Coco Park since there is a lot of space for triple-boosts and some turbo pads in-between. The Slide-Boost is the most important. You initiate a Slide-Boost by drifting (Left Analog-stick + R1) and pressing L1 when you see black smoke coming from your exhaust, or when the boost bar in the bottom right turns orange. You can string three Slide-Boosts together per drift — and performing three in a row results in one big boost, which you must do repeatedly to maintain your boost. After three boosts, jump with R1 to initiate a new slide, then you can perform three new boosts again.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Codes

In order to enter the following cheat codes, you must be in the Main Menu and hold down two buttons on the controller.
On PS4 it’s L1+R1, on Xbox it’s RB+LB, and on Switch it’s L+R1.
Upon successful entry, you will hear the corresponding sound (in case of problems, press the buttons more slowly).
All Trophies, Achievements, Grand Prix Challenges, Adventure Rewards, Wumpa Coins and Highscores will not count while cheat codes are enabled. However, skins won in races are still available.
Your saves will not be affected either. If you turn off cheats by going to Adventure or online, everything will return to normal.

How to activate cheats

To activate the cheat, go to the main menu screen. While holding both bumpers on the controller, enter the code. On PS4 it’s L1+R1, on Xbox it’s RB+LB, and on Switch it’s L+R. After successfully entering the code, you will hear a confirmation sound.

Cheats cannot be used in arcade mode (except for Penta Penguin). They only work in Local Arcade! In addition, you cannot activate more than one cheat at the same time. Endless Super Engine

Super Engine Mode:

With this cheat active, you can use the super engine power up from combat mode anytime you like. This allows you to hold down the boost button to a continuous Turbo. The power of the turbo will match your current turbo level, so if you have an orange turbo, so be the super engine. If you don’t have them, you will have Red Turbo, the weakest level of turbo.

When it oozes while holding the boost, you will quickly increase the boost power to the blue Turbo, which will give you insane speeds. Because of this, this cheat pairs very well with Infinite Wumpa Fruits and Super Turbo Pad Cheats.
