Black Friday isn’t officially happening until November 25, but that doesn’t stop retailers from offering early deals among the hype for savings. Some storefronts will extend the event by a few days to over a week, making bargains easier to grab when not restricted to a single day and suffering from rapid sellouts.

With sequential read/write speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s, the Samsung 980 NVMe SSD is a great option for those who want to expand their laptop’s storage capacity without breaking the bank. This Black Friday deal makes that value even sweeter. I actually use one of these in my Razer Blade 17 Pro as a storage drive specifically for games from Steam. I’ve had it for well over a year at this point, and haven’t had any issues whatsoever.

History of Black Friday
There are several theories that describe the true origin of Black Friday. One of them states that the term «Black Friday» was first used on September 24, 1869 due to the financial crash caused by Jay Gould and Jim Fisk, which caused hundreds of companies on Wall Street to go bankrupt.
A century after Thanksgiving, the city of Philadelphia shut down traffic for Christmas shopping, a term used to describe chaos in the city. This is the story that perhaps most resembles the current spirit of Black Friday . The New York Times coined the term in 1975 to describe the same scenario triggered by sales in New York after Thanksgiving.
Thus, there is no exact date for the beginning of Black Friday , but this tradition has been going on for over 50 years in the United States, and many countries around the world have also adopted this date.
