We’re going a little bit old school here but even though The Sims 4 has been out for ages, and The Sims 5 is incoming, The Sims 3 remains a go-to game for many.

And that probably isn’t too surprising, as the option to start again on a new game with a new set of characters may not appeal to everybody. So, at the very least, this makes The Sims 3 a game that is worth revisiting for many.

And just like cheats in The Sims 4, there are a fair few here in The Sims 3 too! If you want to know what the special codes are, we have you covered below.

How to use The Sims 3 cheat codes

First up, there are different ways to play The Sims 3, so here is how to access the cheats from each of them.

Activate The Sims 3 cheats on PC: Hold Ctrl and Shift, then press C
Activate The Sims 3 cheats on Mac: Hold Command and Shift, then press C
Activate The Sims 3 cheats on PS3: Hold down all four shoulder buttons at once
Activate The Sims 3 cheats on Xbox: Hold down all four shoulder buttons at once

Once you do this, you will be ready to enter your code of choice!

Before we get to them though, if you want to edit things like friendships or traits, or you want to teleport or change your career, then enter «testingcheatsenabled true» and you will be able to edit all sorts of things by clicking on them.

Below you will find all the available cheat codes you need, and what you will get when you use them.

help – Display most cheats
kaching – +1,000 Simoleons
rosebud – +1,000 Simoleons
motherlode – +50,000 Simoleons
familyfunds [sims last name] [money wanted] – most money possible is 9,999,999. This saves you from constantly entering the “motherlode” cheat several times
shazaam – +2,500 lifetime happiness points to active Sim
modify traits – Set or clear traits
make happy – Sets all mood/moodlets for everyone in the house to perfect; removes negative moodlets
make motives [static|dynamic] – Set motives static or dynamic for the entire household
set age [number] – Set age of the Sim
ageuptonpc on – Ages up a Sim into a non-controllable NPC who lives in your household. Works on children.
forcetwins – enter after clicking on a pregnant Sim
edit in cas – Take the Sim back to Create-a-Sim
make me know everyone – Selected Sim knows every other Sim
make friends for me – Make several random friends for selected Sim
resetsim [first name] [last name] – Return Sims to safe and neutral state at home
freerealestate – Ignore the cost when buying a lot
buydebug – Lets you buy anything, including locked objects
add to household – Add active Sim to current household
force service sim [name] – Force a specific service Sim to appear
force visitor – Forces a neighbour to show up
set career [career] [level] – Give selected Sim a career
force opportunity – Click career building you work at to force an opportunity
force all events – Click career building to display all events for the career consecutively
unlockoutfits [on|off] – View career outfits and service uniforms. This code must be enabled before entering Create-A-Sim mode
force event – Click career building you work at to force an event
moveobjects [on|off] – No limitations for placing/moving objects
constrainfloorelevation [true|false] – Force terrain adjustments regardless of objects, Sims, and other structures

Für PS3 Nicht. Das Spielen macht mit Cheats aber auch keinen Spass.

Here is the most comprehensive list of codes for The Sims 3 game and addons. This will allow you to take your mind off the unnecessary complexities of the gameplay

Press Ctrl + Shift + C and enter the codes in the console that pops up.
In Vista, press Ctrl + Windows + Shift + C

Common codes for The Sims 3

Familyfunds [Family name] (number) — Changes the amount of money in the selected family to the desired one. Enter without brackets. Works only after including developer code.
Kaching — Adds 1000 Simoleons to the household budget.
Mother lode — Adds 50,000 Simoleons to the household budget.
Moveobjects [on/off] — allows you to move non-movable objects.
СonstrainFloorElevation [true/false] — allows you to raise/lower the floor when there are objects or walls with floors on it.
DisableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt [on/off] — when the code is enabled and Alt is pressed, objects can be placed outside the grid, not clearly on the floor cells. After updating the base game, this code is not needed, to enable the extracellular mode, just hold down the Alt key.
FadeObjects [on/off] — when the code is enabled, objects become transparent when the camera approaches.
TestingCheatsEnabled [true/false] — good old developer code. The main features are here.
Fps [on/off] — Shows the frame rate in the upper right corner.

buydebug — debug mode (tombs, hidden decorations, etc.) Works only after developer code is enabled. Enter the code in the purchase mode. In other modes, you must enter the code buydebug on .
Ctrl+Shift+Left — this key combination allows you to set triggers and events for tomb items in the purchase mode (hold the combination and click on the object).
allowObjectsOnRoof on/off — placing objects on the roof.
enablelotlocking true/false — allows you to change the closed lot in the change town mode. Works only after including developer code.
objectassetnames true/false — allows you to see the working names of objects in build and buy modes.

Cheats for The Sims 3 Ambitions (Sims 3 Career)

Additionally, the game has a Shift+Ctrl shortcut in Buy Mode that will help you customize the characteristics of certain objects. For example:

Place a trap in the area from the debugging tombs mode, and hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys, click on it with the left mouse button. You can choose the type of trap (fire, steam, shoot darts, electric), as well as make it hidden, visible or inactive at all.

Cheats for The Sims 3 Late Night

RBBB on or RestrictBuildBuyInBuildings true — makes available all objects from the lobbies and lobbies of skyscrapers and apartment buildings in build and buy mode.
unlockOutfits on — Unlocks hidden accessories and clothes in the Sim Creation Room (CAS).
— Pressing « L » on your keyboard will open your Sim’s popularity log (only available after the first levels of fame).
— Now you can adjust the level of wall decorations such as paintings or photographs. To do this, hold the selected object with the left mouse button and move the mouse up or down. Then fix the object in the desired position, and release the cursor.

Cheats for The Sims 3 Generations (Sims 3 All Ages)

moviemakercheatsenabled true is a useful code for creating movies and screenshots in the game. When clicking on a character or pet while holding down the 9 key0516 Shift you can make it produce a certain animation. The spectrum is very wide: emotional reactions, animations of character traits, communication, moodlets (moods, needs). One-time or repeated animation playback is available. The code also allows you to temporarily disable free will without resorting to changing the settings, and make the Sim stand still and not turn his head.

Cheats for The Sims 3 Island Paradise

discoverAllUnchartedIslands — all undiscovered islands are opened and added to the property for the currently selected family. Works only after including developer code.
