Here’s a selection of some of Wotlk Classic Best Addons. While some argue they ruin the authenticity of Classic, for others it makes the game playable.
Addons changed the game in Classic. With key addons from Retail, WoW making the transition over to Classic and other addons springing up to plug gaps in the quality of life. With Classic being out for nearly two years now, we head into Wotlk with a diverse selection of addons to look at.
In this guide, we’ll look at some key areas of focus. From questing and maps to professions and UI and most things in between. We’ll focus on one main selection and give some details while offering up at least one alternative.
NOTE: All addons listed support Wotlk or have confirmed Wotlk release updates, unless specifically stated.
Wotlk Classic Best Addons — Questing Addon — Questie
Picture the scene; you load up Classic, ready to go on your first big adventure. You speak to that quest giver, who sends you off to kill some Kobolds. But, you’re not 100% sure what way north is or what a cave looks like. So you quickly check your map for a rough location, maybe a few dots to see where to go. But wait… there’s nothing there, you’re alone without guidance. Thankfully, Questie has your back and is here to save the day.
It’s a good job I had this addon, as I have no idea what a Golem is.
Thankfully, Questie fixes all that reading quest text nonsense (don’t worry, you’ll still do a lot wrong even with Questie if you don’t read quests). But by providing you with some of those missing map features, Questie gives you a lot of the functionality you’re missing from retail. Questie isn’t perfect, it might not play well with some other addons (looking at you Azeroth Auto Pilot) and it can be a little misleading at times.
Alternative — QuestHelper — Basically the same thing, some people may prefer the UI.
Best Wotlk Classic Raid and Dungeon addon — BigWigs/LittleWigs

Essentially an on-the-fly boss mechanic addon.
BigWigs, and its dungeon counterpart LittleWigs, will display boss fight information during the fight. This includes timers, warnings, and even create in-game markers on important mobs. While a lot of boss fights in Classic were very short, and often the need for such addons became redundant, towards the end of the expansion, and into Wotlk boss mechanics got a little more tricky. Regardless, if you plan to raid, you’ll need this addon or one like it.

Best Wotlk Classic Loot addon — Atlas Loot
Atlas Loot is an essential addon for those of us who dream of getting all those shiny purple items from raids. We can look longingly into the future and proclaim, “I will have that hat”. While Atlas Loot won’t increase your drop rate, it will help you decide what dungeons to prioritize. If you’re a tank, it can even help you avoid bosses that don’t drop tanking loot, because you’re the tank and people have to do what you say after all.
If you just look at the Judgement Crown long enough, you might just get it.
The addon isn’t just for dungeons, either. It will list all loot from factions, crafting sets, PvP, and all raid tier sets. There’s not really an alternative to Atlas Loot, either. Honestly, that’s it. It does exactly what it says on the tin.
Best Wotlk Classic Damage and Threat Meter addons — Details! & TinyThreat
We’ve included these two together because it’s a case of one addon doing both jobs. Over the years, Details! Has gone ahead of its damage meter competition, which is good because that’s what the addon is for. Addons like Recount used to be the most popular, but after dropping support in retails, Details! has come out swinging. With the release of Classic, Details! made the move and has become a firm favorite of the scene.
If you use this in Classic Wotlk you’ll mostly be seeing purple and green. Don’t worry that’s not a bug; those classes are just that good.
As for TinyThreat, this is one where you might prefer a specific addon rather than a plugin.
But for ease of use, by using the TinyThreat plugin, you can simply make a new details window, as the TinyThreat addon comes with Details!
Click the cogwheel on details and select create window > on the cogwheel again, go to plugins and select TinyThreat. If you don’t see plugins, head to the Details! Options menu and head to “Plugin Management” and select Tiny Threat.
Alternative — Recount for damage meters and Omen for threat.
Best Wotlk Classic Unit Frames addon — Z-Perl
Unit frames are a popular part of World of Warcraft, and Z-Perl is probably the most popular, especially if we look back at Vanilla. Originally called X-Perl, the new addon came back for Classic and has been downloaded over 10 million times already. Another popular addon in this section, and it deserves special mention, is ElvUI. Z-Perl is more an alternative to the standard UI (see below) whereas ElvUI is more like a full rework of the entire WoW design.

For Unit Frames, you’ll need to find what fits you.
Some people like something much more simple, personally I use Shadowed Unit Frames, which much like Z-Perl is a much more minor change to the overall look, mostly just tidying up the standard look.
Alternatives — Unit Frames on CurseForge. It’s best to just look through everything here and make up your own mind.
Best Wotlk Classic Map addon — Atlas
Map addons are another common in Classic due to the aforementioned Questie addon. Atlas, and its many variations, are near essential when it comes to displaying things in Classic. Dungeons and Battlegrounds are major exceptions for maps in Classic, with the areas completely hidden except for the minimap.
The addon isn’t quite as good as what the retail client map is able to show, Atlas, alongside Atlas Loot gives you a fantastic look at dungeons, battlegrounds, and world locations. It’s a crucial addon for some, especially those coming from retail WoW and needing to feel a little more at home.
Alternative — Cartographer
Best Wotlk Classic User Interface addon — Titan Panel
One of the most powerful addons in Classic, Titan Panel adds a small bar to the top of your screen but it displays so much useful information.
The addon can display lots of information such as your location, gold, repair status, and how many bag slots you’re using. Another aspect is that Titan Panel will move addons from clustering your minimap and put them onto the bar instead.
A simple bar that adds a lot of power.
A sign of a required addon is normally when Blizzard merges it into the live game. Atlas Loot, Atlas Map, and Titan Panel are all addons that saw use in the live client. While Titan Panel was only used for one expansion (WoD) for the Garrison, it proves how simple that little information bar was. The other way of knowing you’re using a good addon is when an entire category on Curseforge is named after it.
Auctionator is one of the most popular addons to make the very clunky auction house in Classic a lot more usable. The standard UI for auctions is… less than ideal, and if you’re used to the now improved retail version, then Classic is a tough ask. As you can see below, Auctionator is a great fix for this and allows you to list auctions quickly as well as tracking historic data.
A simple Alt + Left Click will place your item or stack it into the left window and scan the auction house for other listings. You can also search for an item and rather than listing it, instead buy the listings (the large bottom box). It’s not perfect, and the addon is a fan edit of the retail version, but while it’s still supported it remains the most usable.
Alternative — TradeSkillMaster — A much more powerful alternative to Auctionator but one that requires a lot more understanding to use and come to terms with.
Wotlk Classic addon Honorable mentions
Attune — Probably one of the most useful addons in Classic. It has an amazing in-game UI that allows you to track exactly what part of the quest chain or unlock you’re at. Of course, if you want to read a detailed guide on how to attune to Karazhan or Dungeons, you can check our guides.
Prat 3.0 — Prat is a powerful addon that helps to filter out some of the spam you see in chat.
Postal — Postal does a lot of things, but it basically makes your interactions with the mailbox a lot easier.
Better bulk mail opening, logging your past mail interactions and making sure you’re not mailing the wrong person.
OneBag3 — The addon does basically what it suggests. It consolidated your bags down into one giant bag, allowing you to search your bags and color your items based on their rarity.
GatherMate2 — GatherMate tracks all your Ore and Herb pickups and displays them on your map. If you want some extra help, you can also download a GatherMate data pack, the one from Wowhead is a good start.
WeaponSwingTimer — An addon that is crucial for anyone playing melee or hunter. Making sure not to clip your auto-attacks and ranged casts. While the addon is less useful for casters it’s a very powerful little bar.
WeakAuras — One of the biggest game-changers for Classic was WeakAuras. An addon that’s almost a defining part of retail WoW the addon came to Classic and changed the game. We’ve decided to put it at the bottom because the addon itself has no power without Wago.

CurseForge App installieren
Am einfachsten ist die Installation von WoW Addons mit einem so genannten Addon-Client. Früher gab es die Twitch-App, die jedoch schon seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr funktioniert. Als Nachfolger bietet sich nun die CurseForge App an. Dort kann man nach WoW-Addons suchen, herunterladen und installieren.
Die wichtigste Funktion ist das Update. Mit einem Klick werden alle bereits installieren Addon automatisch aktualisiert. Auf eine Sache muss man jedoch achten. Da es unterschiedliche Versionen vom Spiel gibt, unterteilt die CurseForge App sämtliche Addons in Retail, PTR und Beta. Schaut also oben rechts, ob ihr auch die richtige Version ausgewählt habt. Pros: Great speaker. Great sound, quality materials, good volume without distortion, nice weight.
Disadvantages: I did not notice that they cannot be combined with others of the same kind. This would be a huge plus.
Comment: This is a very worthy unit. The sound is just amazing, bluetooth is 5 meters, there is an aux, the battery lasts for many hours, cool design.
It’s a little heavy to carry around on hiking picnics, but it can be thrown into a car and delivered to him. Very good quality materials and assembly. Favorite device in the house 🙂

Pros: As for me, it’s a great solution for the home: it’s a cross between a typical portable speaker concept and computer acoustics. There is an MDF case, the ability to work from the network, an angular interior design and a pleasant weight + bluetooth and the presence of a battery.

3 5 pvp — World of Warcraft
Rogue in the «Stealth» spec can provide decent resistance in the arena, you just have to carefully read the manual. Important information about the class is described, which must be mastered in detail.

Bleed Spec
This spec focuses on bleeding damage, so it’s best to throw it with the attack power stack.
If you prefer to kill your enemies with bloodshed, you should use this spec, it’s also quite useful against warriors and other saucers. Learn to kite your enemies and you can take them all down pretty well by landing bleeding hits on your target and gear. A very important thing is HIT CAP for PvP. It’s 5% (around 164 rating rating). I usually have 178 hit rating which is 5.43%.
Keep at least 950 resilience.
Better to have 1000+. In fact, sometimes I use about 1100 STR in 3v3, but also in 2v2 if I’m playing double crest DPS.
About weapons: It’s best to use the 1.8 speed main hand (dagger of course) and the 1.4 speed dagger as off hand. Well, you can also use a 1.5 speed axe, first weapon, or sword, but it’s best to use a 1.4 speed dagger. (See below why.)
AP, ARP or AGI? This is a very debatable issue. As a trickster, you should have 2 sets for PvP. One with the attack power stack and the other with the ARP stack. Of course, ARP is more useful against plates and attack power is more useful against clothing enemies. When using the ARP stack, it is important that you have at least 40% arp. Top 50%. I know 50% is hard to get without normal items and keep resilience up to 950. But it’s not impossible. You can do some Pve. In fact, there are a lot of PvE items for ARP, and they are good, but there are difficulties that come with resilience and arp. So my advice is: you don’t need to stack just ARP on your sockets.
You can use a few others like 20 resilience. In any case, you should think and reflect on your equipment and try to balance it. Also if you are throwing an AP stack, the best option would be to have multiple arp pve parts with a full attack stack.
Do not try AGI styling. It’s good for crit and dodge, so you can be a little more defensive against other melee classes, and have a few more crits, but nothing more. Probably choose between AP or ARP. Or both with 2 sets.
Weapon speed -1.8 + 1.4 or 1.8 + 1.5?
[Crippling Poison] doesn’t scale with weapon speed, it’s a set proc rate, so 1.4 weapons (dagger) is better than 1.5 because it’s faster, so I’m more likely to proc [Crippling Poison]. But if you prefer to dodge enemies, use 1.5 weapons. (See «POISONS» below for more information on poisons)
Replacing PVP items with PVE items.
When you are going to replace your parts in pvp (wrathful, relentless, etc.) with pve, you should try to replace items that don’t give you any dexterity in the first place, such as neck, back, finger and weapons in pvc , with trhown.
This is much more useful than swapping out items that already give you agility like a belt, legs, but of course if you’re really short on arp you can also swap them out.

Meta: Relentless Earthsiege Diamond (+21 Ag/3% Crit Damage)
Yellow, Red and Blue: 20 arp stack, but use blue slot at your feet — 10 of all stats for meta socket bonus. You can also change some of them to balance your stats, like hit rating (+20 hit rating) or so.
Zacharki
You need to know what enchantment to use. I’ll tell you one important thing:
Main Hand: Berserking (+400 AP Proc)
Off Hand: Titanium Weapon Chain (+28 damage / -50% disarm duration)
You can also use various weapon exchange enchants (out of hand) like 2nd berserking or something else.
Poisons
“Poisons is an ability that allows rogues to coat their primary or out-of-hand weapons with poisons. When a poisoned weapon hits an enemy, it can apply a debuff that damages, slows, or otherwise impedes the enemy, depending on the poison.
Learned at level 10, poisons are a core part of the Rogue class and their use is essential for maximum effectiveness.»
[Wound Poison VII] — The chance of Wound Poison triggering depends on the speed of the weapon and deals a small amount of damage. It’s good against melee and casters because it deals some damage and reduces the effect of all healing abilities by 50%.

Remember to use this against targets that can heal.

It must be in the subtleties. The best you can get is 1.4 daggers. - [Poison Poison] — It does not depend on the speed of the weapon, it is the set proc speed. The 30% damage buff is pretty impressive, and being able to dispel it is a good way to lose your wild druid combo points. You won’t be able to apply much pressure using Wound + Anesthetic, but it can be a good way to help your partner survive the wild druids’ initial burst of OTT. In addition to reducing their damage, you also leave them free of dots to allow for defensive shooting. Return to injured + fatal when you return to the situation. - [Berserker Rage]

You’ll probably never see an HfB rogue these days (unless they forget to replay before a BG or arena match).
You might want to switch to wound + anesthetic for the comedy value — watching them suffer from a lack of energy when they spam, HfB is pretty cute.
Important
[Bleeding]: Hemo is one of the spells that doesn’t require you to be behind your enemy, so it’s useful when you can’t get behind your enemy and need to fight ahead. So USE it if you are in that situation. It’s also useful before using [Eviscerate], and don’t forget to put it on your target before you dance.
[Feint]: Many Rogues ignore this spell, but it’s very useful in times of trouble, like when you get a miss, dodge, or parry when you’re disorganized by a big storm. Use it! Reduces AoE damage taken by 50%
[Distract]: Usually it can be used before going down, but it’s also useful in the arena because you can interrupt the drinking!
[Gouge]: A very useful spec for CC or repeating with the [Improved Gouge] talent.
[Kick]: A very important spell. Try to use it wisely. Also keep an eye out for «fake rolls» though many people don’t know what that is.
[Prepare]: This is good to use after all your basic spells are on cooldown.
[Trade Tricks]: This is a useful spell for your arena partners. This gives +15% damage. Don’t forget to use this every 30 seconds.
[Cloak of Shadows]: Possibly one of the most important spells. I think you all know how to use it.
[Disappear]: The next most important spell. Don’t forget that if you disappear when a spell is flying at you, such as Death Coil, Frost Bolt, etc., you can prevent it from hitting you. (Sometimes this happens due to some spells here on Molten-WoW. You have to remember what spells they are.)
[Dismantle]: Try saving this spell against classes like Warrior for Bladestorm. You can easily stop it! It’s also very useful against hunters and all melee classes!
[Blind]: Keep in mind that most people set aside their key fob for this. Be ready!
[Rupture]: Use it mainly on rogues and wild druids to counter their walls! Of course, use it for extra damage as well.
[Death Throw]: A very useful spell for launching enemies that need to be caught or slowed down for something else.
[Knife Admirer]: This is good to use, for example, when you see a rogue on the step for only a second, and you are too slow to undermine. Try to follow his path and you might be lucky to spot him with FoK.
One of the most common mistakes Rogues tend to make is spamming abilities as soon as there is enough energy to use them. Try to save some energy. Don’t use everything as soon as possible. This is a very important thing, just like before when I spammed everything. For example; The caster starts casting the spell and I don’t have the energy to hit him. Therefore, it is very important to conserve energy. This is known as «energy pooling».
When you are about to attack your enemy with steath, use your [Premeditation] spell to add 2 combo points and you can use [Slice and Dice] before opening. Or, if you want to open bleeding, you can do this:
