FIFA 23 lengthy Base Icons

Do any Base Icons qualify as lengthy players? Most certainly. Although you may well be wondering exactly that these players are. Basically, every footballer in the game now utilises one of three acceleration styles, and lengthy is the one which has been proclaimed as meta in FIFA 23. For a more detailed explanation jump over to our FIFA 23 lengthy players guide.

20 of those on the Base Icons list qualify as lengthy players. There are seven centre-backs, the highest rated of which are Alessandro Nesta (Italy, 88) and Marcel Desailly (France, 87). Just one other defender qualifies as lengthy: World Cup winner Carles Puyol (Spain, 86). Four CDMs and four CMs are given lengthy status, among them Xabi Alonso (Spain, 87), Patrick Vieira (CM, 86), and Michael Essien (CDM, 85). Four strikers also score lengthy status. They are Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast, 87), Alan Shearer (England, 87), David Trezeguet (France, 86) and Christian Vieri (ST, 86).

FIFA 23 Base Icon Upgrade SBC Review

FIFA 23 Base Icon Upgrade SBC Review

Do You Play FIFA With Cross Play On Or Off?

Like to play against other consoles?

  • On

  • Off

Getting one of the best football players of all time in your FIFA 23 pack, just for a few untradable cards, doesn’t sound bad at all. Is the new SBC worth it?

Is the Base Icon Upgrade SBC worth it? | © EarlyGame / EA Sports

EA Sports has, surprisingly, supplied us with a Base Icon Upgrade SBC, which we are able to complete until November 22. Now you’re probably wondering: How much is the SBC and is it even worth it? We deliver all the answers!

Base Icon Upgrade SBC – This Could Be In It

In the packs, you get from the Base Icon Upgrade SBC, you can, like the name of the Squad Building Challenge already says, get every Icon in their base version. That means you can unfortunately not pack one of the new World Cup Icons. But there are still some bangers among the Base Icons.

Is The Base Icon SBC Worth It?

This is probably the most important question to ask before completing an SBC. In order to judge whether it’s worth it, we need to look at both the SBC requirements, the best possible rewards, and most importantly, the worst possible rewards we could get.

This is definitely worth it as a Christmas gift!

Base Icon Upgrade SBC — The Requirements

At first glance, you don’t have to reach deep into your pocket for the new Base Icon SBC. An 85 rated team and an 87 rated team with a player who has an overall rating of at least 88 is all you have to submit for a base icon.

At second glance, however, the SBC costs over 200k. Is it still worth it, or should you rather buy one of the new Path to Glory cards?

That’s what you have to submit for a Base Icon Upgrade! | © Futbin

Base Icon Upgrade SBC — The Possible Rewards

Actually, the reward is always the same. A pack with a random Base Icon. However, we are interested in the Icons we can pull. We need to look at both the best and the worst Icons that could possibly await us.

The best and most expensive Icons certainly include players like Eusébio, Pelé, Jairzinho, Zidane or Cruyff. In total, there are currently 38 Icons that are worth more than the SBC itself. In terms of price alone, these players could be considered a win.

However, there are also players like Litmanen, van Nistelrooy or Verón who could be in your pack. In total, there are 60 Icons that currently cost less than 200,000 coins. So these would be more of an L.

Is The Base Icon Upgrade SBC Worth It?– Our Conclusion

With a so-called Gamble SBC, such as the Base Icon Upgrade SBC, it is always difficult to give a clear recommendation. It always depends on who you pack. One person gets lucky and gets Eusébio, the other gets Litmanen.

You should look at your team and consider which Icons you would really be happy with and which would really strengthen your team. If you have the required coins and still some high rated untradables, and you would be satisfied with most of the Icons, then go ahead and complete the SBC. However, if you can only fit a few selected icons into your team, and you are rather tight on cash anyway, you should keep your hands off the challenge. Take a look at the new World Cup Swaps. There you can get the World Cup Icons of Patrick Vieira and Cafu as well as some great World Cup players for free.

We won’t be able to resist the SBC and risk having a Rui Costa on the bench… what will you do?

11 free app icon packs

Icons are a design element you can’t live without. Sometimes it’s hard to find good mobile icon packs, and here’s my list of 11 free mobile icon packs that I find especially useful. There are many more packages that I haven’t included in this article, but this list is a good collection for every designer’s toolbox.

1. A General Vector Pack

No matter what mobile operating system you’re designing for, you’ll always need base images for phones and other mobile devices. This icon pack contains many similar images. This is a general pack of vector icons for phones (mobile and landline), tablets, handsets and other items related to mobile calls and mobile usage.

The icons are black and white, but since this is a vector pack, you can always add more color and/or resize the icons if you like.

2. Flat Phone Vector Icons

If you need more phone icons and prefer flat icons, check out these phone icons. This organized pack contains about 200 flat icons of phones and other mobile-related elements. Again, the pack is black and white, but it’s vector-based, so it shouldn’t be hard to change the colors and/or size of the icons. You can download either the whole package or just the icons you need.

3. A Huge Megapack of iPhone, iOS7, Android and Windows 8 Icons

This huge megapack of 10000 icons for Android, iPhone, iOS7 and Windows8 is probably one of the best resources you can find on Internet, and it is free for both personal and commercial use. Once you download it, all other packages may become useless as it contains many useful icons.

10,000 icons for iPhone, Android, Windows8 and IOS apps — different sizes such as 20×20, 30×30, 60×60, 114×114, 512×512 and more. They are also equipped with add-ons and source files. Undoubtedly, every mobile designer should have this mega pack. In addition to this free package, the authors offer a paid version with over 80,000 icons.

4. Mixed Android Icons and More

Compared to the previous pack, this icon pack is not that impressive, but still has nice Android icons that you can use in your personal and commercial projects. This is a pack of mixed icons for Android — icons for devices, common items, basic user interface elements, etc.

This is not the only icon pack on this site. There are many other Android packages such as network icons, photo and video, flat user interface, shopping, etc. If you need icons on a specific theme, just browse the site to see what else is available.

5. Another Mixed Android Icons Pack

This icon pack is also for Android, but the icons are different from other packs. This is a relatively small pack of around 30 icons, but it’s useful because it contains icons for popular apps and websites, as well as settings, voice search, and more.

Unlike the previous pack, the icons are colorful, but the downside is that they are PNG only, no vectors, which limits your editing options.

6. 350 Free Android Icons

Another pack of organized Android icons. This is a big pack — it contains 350 icons grouped into several categories such as Basic, Buzz, Arrows, Shopping, Photo and Video, Music, Users and etc. The icons are not colored, but they are available in various formats such as PSD, AI, EPS, SVG, and PNG, so it’s easy to edit them for added color or other modifications. By default, icons come in several sizes, from 24px to 512px, but again, you can change the size if needed.

7. More Free Android Icons

Unlike other Android icon packs, this pack is not for developers, but for end users. This package can be used to replace native Android icons. However, since the package is huge — 207K (yes, thousands) of icons, it’s likely that an Android designer will find quite a few icons to use — if not for their intended purpose, at least for inspiration. Not all icons are free, especially for commercial use, so check the license before using them.

8. Action Bar Icon Pack from Google

If you want icons from Google itself, you can check out the Action Bar Icon Pack. To download the package, click here. The icons in the pack are optimized for various screen resolutions and work best with the Holo Light and Holo Dark themes.

There are about 150 icons in the pack for common activities such as basic activities (copy, paste, edit, etc.), navigation, ratings, collection, content, social networks, location, camera, media, access devices, hardware, alerts, and additional actions. The icons are in PNG format, which isn’t as good as vector icons due to the limited offers of PNG editing options, but still doesn’t make the pack useless.

9. iOS7 Line Icons

After the series of Android icons, it’s time for iOS. The first iOS icon pack is the free iOS7 Line Icons pack. The package contains 80 icons in AI, PSD, SVG and PNG (and PNG@2x) formats. The icons cover a variety of categories, from calls to photos, music, and navigation. The package mainly contains icons for iOS7, but there are a few for iOS8 as well. The package is free, but you must enter your email address to receive a download link.

10. iOS7 Tab Bar Icons

If you’re looking for iOS7 tab bar icons, check out this set. The package contains 36 tab bar icons for iOS7 in PSD format. Among other things, you will find icons for Inbox, Copy, Trash, Logout, Settings, Locked (Inbox, Copy, Garbage, Exit, Settings, Lock), etc. This is the basic package, but if you don’t need more than that, you’ll be fine with what is.

11. An Android, iOS7, iPhone, and Windows8 Megapack

This is the second mega pack on this list and this pack includes icons for Android, IOS and Windows. This huge pack contains 175K icons in PNG and PSD formats. It also comes with a few extras — icons in categories such as General, Accounting, Business, Database, Education, Graphics, Multimedia, Networking and Web Design -design).

This package includes several licensing schemes, including a free one. I’m not sure if the free version contains all 175K icons, but if you want them all, you can get them for $35. If you prefer the free option, you will need to sign up for the site’s newsletter or share it on social media. It’s not such a big request considering how many icons for all mobile operating systems you’ll get.

Conclusion

Your app or site may be full of features, but without quality icons, it may go unnoticed. Even if you can’t create icons yourself, there are many alternatives, including free ones. Some of the best icon packs for Android, IOS, iPhone and Windows8 are free and I have included them in this article. Of course there are many others that didn’t make the list, if you have any other suggestions we’d love to see them in the comments below.
