Astellia is a tremendous, full-fledged MMO, with large areas to explore, tons of tiny features to fiddle with, auction houses, end-game dungeons, and more than enough to keep any MMO player busy. Despite some of the great features Astellia brings to the table, the Astel collection system, the detailed world, and a fairly balanced combat system, it isn’t enough to break from the sheer monotony, bugs, and lack of character attachment that would bring Astellia from being just another Korean game to being a bright star in a cloudy sky.

Given the lack of novelty in the systems, the limited range of depth out of the Astel system, and the lack of player-class customization as-of-yet in the game, there aren’t a lot of reasons to really recommend Astellia. Excepting a genuinely heartbreaking translation, there aren’t really any reasons to avoid Astellia either. If the game looks interesting, there’s a decent argument to be made to give it a shot. If the game doesn’t look appealing at a glance though, there’s nothing in there that will likely change your mind.

At the end of the day, this is all purely my opinion, and you may find some of the things I said do actually resonate with you and might be the catalyst for you wanting to jump in and try the game. If that’s the case, awesome! Astellia isn’t a terrible game by any means, and I encourage you to try it for yourself. It just doesn’t feel like a great one yet.

Astellia is an MMORPG designed to be evocative of the genre’s root while adding in companions with unique personalities and stories and epic 300v300v300 PvP play.
On September 27th, 2019, Astellia will officially launch in North America and the European Union, with pre-orders ending September 20th. Let’s take a closer look at what it has to offer.
Astellia launches with five classes based on the «Holy Trinity» of RPG role (tanking, dealing damage per second (DPS) or healing)

Warrior — Tank and battlefield commander
-
Assassin — Melee DPS with devastating finishing combos
-
Archer — Ranged DPS with high-mobility
-
Mage — Magic DPS and shield caster
-
Scholar — Healer that still packs a punch
In addition to these, Astellia will also be releasing three subclasses for each of the original classes this year.
Subclasses can be swapped freely and they’ll bring their own unique, powerful skills.
Astels — the game’s namesake — are unique companions who aid players throughout the game, joining in combat and driving the story.
Each of the currently 30 unique Astel has its own personality, backstory, and skills that combine with player classes. (For example, a warrior summoning a healer type Astel effectively becomes a paladin.)
Astels also play a big part in groups, effectively doubling or even quadrupling party sizes. Or, since players can summon up to three at a time, they can be a party.
Each of the over a dozen dungeons in Astellia comes in three difficulty settings — Tutorial, Solo, and Group — each loot table. The truly brave can try to solo a group dungeon for greater challenge… and greater rewards. Plus every dungeon run is timed and scored, giving players the chance to earn bonuses!
But dungeons are more than just a good source of new equipment and materials; they’re also the primary way to earn Astels.

PvP comes in three modes in 2019:

Duel Arena — head-to-head combat that’s 1v1 or 4v4.

Coliseum — players or groups face off against waves of monsters, competing for high score.

Avalon — 300v300v300 tri-faction war for map & resource control. Lasts all week.
While PvP is not mandatory, it does reward players with Zender, a special currency that can be exchanged for mounts, costumes, and more.
