Animal Crossing: Wild World is a game packed with secrets. There are so many hidden things that we’re still finding new stuff every day. Below, we’ve detailed some of the more interesting game secrets.

Golden Tools

Getting ahold of all the tools can be a challenge in and of itself at the beginning of your Wild World adventure. However, you’ll reach a point where you demand more of your precious tools. Each of the main tools—axe. fishing rod, net, shovel, slingshot, and watering can—has a golden version that has improved capabilities. Each tool has a special way of earning a golden version. Luckily, we’ve got the details to help you out.

Golden Axe
The process for getting the golden axe (which never breaks) is probably the most complicated of all. For details, consult the Daily Living portion of this guide and (look under the «Wendell» heading»).
Golden Rod
To acquire the golden rod, you must catch one of every type of fish in the game. When you’ve done that, Tortimer (the mayor) will reward you with the rod which makes catching fish easier.
Golden Net
The golden net is nearly twice the size of a regular net and can be earned by catching one of every type of bug in the game. As with the golden rod, Tortimer will give you the golden net when you’ve earned it.
Golden Shovel
Simply bury a regular shovel in the ground for 24 hours and dig it back up to get a golden shovel. Using a golden shovel, you can plant bags of money to grow money trees (planting more money makes the tree more likely to grow money).
Golden Slingshot
Using a slingshot, shoot down 15 floating balloons from the sky. The sixteenth balloon you shoot down will have a golden slingshot in it, which fires three rocks at a time in a spread-shot pattern.
Golden Can
To earn the golden can, you must keep your town’s environment satisfactory for 16 consecutive days. Talk to Pelly or Phyllis in the town hall to see what you can do to make your town perfect.
Money Rocks

Every day, one of the many rocks in your town becomes a money rock. Hitting the rock with your shovel will shake out bags of Bells and start a hidden timer. Within the span of about five seconds, you need to hit the rock as many times as possible to knock out larger bags of Bells. Unfortunately, every time you hit the rock you get pushed away from it, making it difficult to hit the rock multiple times consecutively.

To avoid getting pushed away from the rock, stand next to the rock and dig holes around your character. With just three holes, you can lock yourself into place to avoid getting pushed away from the rock. You’ve got to lock yourself into place before hitting the rock, so you’ll have to do so before you even find out if the rock you’re next to is even a money rock. It may be a bit time consuming, but you can earn upwards of 8,000 Bells for your efforts.

Snowman Furniture

Want to get ahold of some rare, valuable furniture without too much effort? During the winter days, two snowballs will appear in your town. Start pushing around a snowball and it’ll slowly grow in size. Put two large snowballs together and you’ve got yourself a snowman! But things are a bit more complicated than that…

In order to be rewarded with furniture from the snowman collection, you’ve got to make a perfect snowman. This involves some precision snowball making work, so pay attention. For the base of the snowman, make a snowball that’s as large as possible. The snowball should be about the same size as your character when it’s done. Making the head the perfect size is a bit trickier. The snowball should be about as high as your nose and no higher. Push the smaller snowball towards the large base and the snowman will automatically form. Wait a while and you’ll get the snowman furniture in the mail (as long as you got the dimensions right).

Time Travel

Are you the adventurous type? Care to walk the line between exploration and danger? Time travel is an option to daring players, though be warned: time travel may have adverse effects on your Animal Crossing: Wild World game.

Almost everything in Animal Crossing is affected by the time of year. Different fish are available, different events occur, and other things happen based on the date. And while the real-life date isn’t something you can change on a whim, the date in Animal Crossing is. Before entering your town, you can change the time and date of your DS and/or Animal Crossing game card. When you do, the time and date in the game will change, bringing you experiences from the future. ..or from the past.

Of course, time travel does ruin some of the game’s surprise. And like we said, it may have negative impact on your game. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Violating animals: how animals despise borders

09/16/2017
Author: 34travel

Belarussians can travel without a visa to several dozen countries, Ukrainians even more. But the animals do not care about obtaining a visa — and boldly violate the borders. We collected the most egregious cases.

On September 8, the Belarusian bison came to Latvia: he talked with cows, local farmers and ate apples in the garden. The bison walked until late at night, and the next morning he went back — obviously, he did not have any documents. It is also unknown how often Belarusian bison have such entertaining trips to neighboring countries.

The editorial staff’s own source in one of the Belarusian villages close to the border told how three pedigreed piglets left for Lithuania at night and did not return. The piglets were later seen on the Lithuanian side: responsible Lithuanian border guards reported the perpetrators to their Belarusian counterparts, and a local police officer rode a motorcycle through no man’s land in an attempt to bring home fugitives without a Schengen visa. However, they have already disappeared into the forests. Perhaps in a couple of years a herd of wild black pigs will roam in the border zone. Friends, be vigilant.

In general, violations of the Belarusian border by animals have been monitored for a long time. As early as 2014, Polish border guards recorded active cross-border movement of animals in both directions and even showed the corresponding video, where wild boars glide like black shadows on white snow. In addition to them, wolves, moose, and deer cross the border without any documents.

However, sometimes animals prefer to use transport. In India, a pigeon flew into a bus and continued its journey on the rail. The bus was traveling to the small village of Ellavadi, the passenger neighbor immediately started a small talk with the pigeon, and the conductor did not pay attention to the bird, as a result of which he himself received a fine from the inspectors — they were just inspecting the route and considered that the pigeon also deserved a ticket. The Indian Express suggests that the pigeon flew into the bus seeking shelter from the polluted air of Indian cities, but we think that it was simply a passion for travel. By the way, if you also want to travel like a bird, we have a manual for you. But be careful! Sometimes birds begin to actively interfere in the plans of tourists. One crow, for example, stole an Estonian’s passport right at the border: tore it out of his hands and flew away. A few days later, it turned out that the crow had thrown the document near the border crossing, tearing out one sheet from it (which page caused the bird’s hatred is not specified). Just in case, we have instructions on what to do if your passport is stolen, no matter who it is: a crow or a person.

In Belarus, animals also master public transport: for example, in Mogilev, a dog rode buses. True, whether the animals use long-distance routes on their trips around Belarus is still unknown.

Violating animals not only cross borders, travel without a ticket and steal documents, but also make real fights. In California, a wild peacock entered a liquor store and smashed several $500 bottles of expensive wine and champagne. The peacock had good taste, the store employee noted. We advise you not to be a peacock, but to spend your time culturally: for example, at a young wine festival. It is not necessary to break the bottles!

Follow road signs. Most often, collisions with moose occur in
habitats — in a wooded area and on the way to a watering hole. If you saw the sign,
warning about a possible meeting with a moose, then triple your vigilance and reset
speed. These animals can cross the road at any time of the year in a variety of ways
reasons. They can simply move around their territory. Periods
mating and hunting seasons also affect the behavior of animals, causing them to
movement. Be carefull.

Your speed must be safe. Do not drive through habitats
moose. Even if you are not in a hurry, you will still reach your destination; but, in
if you encounter a large animal, you will have a couple of extra seconds, and you will have time
avoid collision. In accordance with the recommendations of environmentalists, at
driving through the habitat of wild animals in good weather conditions,
safe is a speed of no more than 90 km / h: in this case, you have a little time
to an emergency stop. Driving at higher speeds is associated with the following
problems:
— the probability of avoiding a collision decreases, because the emergency
there is too little time left for braking;
— with increasing speed, the consequences of a collision for a large
car/truck deteriorate noticeably;
— collision avoidance capabilities are seriously limited: instead of
smooth response and braking you basically have to rely on
bypassing the obstacle.

Use defensive driving skills. Be prepared to commit preventive measures
measures such as rapid deceleration, sudden braking, or turning off glare
headlights Always keep in mind that your braking distance must be within the section of road,
illuminated by headlights at the time of the start of braking. If you do not know at what
the maximum speed you can achieve this result, then find out this,
practice in a safe place. Make sure your belt is
fastened; also ask all your passengers to buckle up: unexpected jerk
can throw someone out of the car.

Watch your surroundings. In the direction of travel, carefully inspect the shoulders for
the subject of wild animals. If you are carrying passengers, then ask them to help,
but warn in advance that it is not worth shouting, because from surprise you can
twitch and react incorrectly. Let the one who first notices the moose calmly
will tell you about it. Look at roadsides and roadside lanes, look at
ditches (good for grazing in) and cross roads, keep your eyes peeled for
dividing lawns and oncoming lane: watch for any movement,
dark silhouettes or shining eyes.
— Watch both sides of the road: many drivers focus on
a passing roadside and forget about the oncoming one. Danger can come from where
whatever, keep that in mind and look on both sides of the road!

Pay special attention at sunrise and sunset. It is known that the largest
Moose are active at dawn, as well as from dusk to midnight. Situation
is complicated by the fact that it is at this time that our eyes see the worst, since it is no longer
dark, but not yet light and it is difficult for vision to adapt to the conditions of a weak
illumination. If in such conditions you feel uncomfortable or experience
vision problems, it is better to wait or postpone the trip altogether.
— Be careful. If you notice a moose, then there are probably
more roaming around
several, even if they are not yet visible. If you found one animal, then
look forward to meeting others soon.

Drive carefully at night. To widen your field of vision, use high beam headlights
to the maximum, but do not forget to extinguish it when approaching oncoming traffic,
so as not to dazzle other drivers. Let’s list a few more steps that cost
take when driving at night.
— If you are driving on a three-lane road, take the middle lane. In case
on a two-lane road, try to stay as close to the center as possible.
— Make sure the windshield is clean: dirt is reflective and
greatly restricts visibility.
— Keep the speed below the maximum. This way you save fuel and
improve your own safety.
— Watching the roadsides, pay special attention to the appearance of glowing
eye; at night they can be seen at very long distances. Sometimes up to
the last only eyes you can observe until the animal is
jumps out in front of you on the road. Please note that moose eyes headlights are not
reflect.

If other vehicles behave unusually, slow down. If you saw
flashing headlights or emergency lights, heard beeps or noticed rushing about
people, then slow down and prepare to stop! Of course, if the car is
suddenly braked sharply in front of you, then you will stop too, or at least strongly
slow down. This situation may mean that on the road in front of this car
An animal jumped out and the driver had to brake urgently.

Stay vigilant even if you are passing through a populated area. you
just entered the city suburbs, so now the danger is over, right?
Not properly! In search of food, moose often wander into the city limits. Animal can
graze on the separation lawn or suddenly jump out of someone’s garden. None on
for a second, do not relax your attention behind the wheel. When you pass by an elk, then not
expect a rational response from them.
Loud horn, flashing light and approaching metal behemoth
will surely frighten the animal to the point of losing its memory, as a result of which it will rather rush to you
across than to the side. Moose males especially often rush at standing or
moving cars of any size.
Know when a detour is not desirable. If you suddenly find yourself in front of a car
moose, then slow down gently. No need to try to go around it and generally leave your
strip; many accidents are not caused by hitting an animal, but are the result of
collisions with vehicles moving in the opposite lane due to a sudden change of lane,
associated with an attempt to bypass a sudden obstacle — an elk. Best in
In this case, apply defensive driving skills and keep such a speed that in
if a large animal appears on the road, do not collide with it, having managed in time
slow down.
Signal the moose with short beeps. And do this only if
the animal is far enough ahead, and there are no other cars around that
may misinterpret your signals. The horns will frighten away the animal, and it may jump into
side, but there is no guarantee that it will not run straight at you. If elk
is in close proximity, then it is not worth signaling at all, since the animal
may get frightened and rush straight at the car.

If a collision is unavoidable, minimize the consequences. If you see that
It is impossible to avoid an accident, so try to minimize its consequences. Here is
some tips on how to do it.
— Try to direct the car in the direction from which the animal is running. So you
increase your distance because a frightened quadruped is unlikely to change
direction and rush back. This trick is unlikely to work when meeting with group
animals or if there is an elk in front of you.
— Fix your gaze in the direction where you sent the car. Don’t watch
on the animal, because otherwise you may involuntarily swerve into it
direction.
— Try to turn a frontal collision into a glancing blow. Strongly
brake, turn the steering wheel and release the brake pedal at the moment of impact. At
as a result of this, the front of the machine will unload and rise slightly, not
allowing the body of the animal to fly onto the windshield (unless, of course, your
the car is high enough).
— If you’re facing an elk, lean towards the doorpost. At
Mythbusters modeled this situation; in the process of holding the whole
series of collisions, over and over again, it turned out that the middle part of the car
is destroyed very strongly, while the triangle near the door pillar remains
absolutely untouched. However, no guarantees are given here; you better
did not get into such collisions at all.

Take the necessary measures after a collision with an elk. After you
made sure that all passengers are safe, you need to complete a few more mandatory
actions.
— Try to get the car out of the way. Turn on the emergency gang and, if possible,
Shine your headlights on the body of the animal as clearly as possible.
— Carefully inspect passengers for injuries and
opportunities to help them. Even if there is no physical damage
observed, the consequences of a shock may occur very soon.
Cheer each other up and if it’s cold outside, put on warm clothes, because
that in a state of shock or fright, the body’s ability to resist
the cold worsens markedly. If it is winter, then stay at
car to keep warm.
— If possible, do not approach a lying animal — out of fear or pain
it may kick or hurt you with its horns. If the animal has blocked
the roadway, then park the car so that the headlights illuminate the body and turn on
emergency gang. Any attempt to move the animal can only be made in
unless you are 100% sure it is dead.
— If you have emergency triangles and / or lights with you, then be sure to
engage them.
— Call the police immediately or ask one of the
passing drivers. Do not forget that in most insurance companies
you will be denied compensation for damage from an animal collision if you do not
provide a police report on the accident.

Tips

— Pay special attention when looking around
on possible sources of water: streams, swamps or ravines especially
attractive to moose.. And since the road provides them with very
convenient approach, then the probability of meeting large animals on the highway in the region of
the waterhole is very large.
— Think over your actions in advance if on the road in front of your
an elk will jump out in a car. If you prepare for this in advance, then in
real situation, you will act calmly and effectively.
— With moose, everything is not so simple, that is, one moose is often just one
elk, although, of course, the possibility that there are 9 more in the vicinity0004
several. Cows often walk with their calves.
— Use the headlights of other vehicles to search for moose. Peer into
roadsides while waves of light from passing cars run along them;
watch for the silhouette of an animal in the flickering shadows.
— Be especially careful if a forest fire is burning somewhere. Fleeing from the fire,
moose can cover great distances and run across the road far beyond
outside of their usual habitats. Even if the fire burns for a lot
kilometers from you, watch carefully for the possible appearance of large
animals running from the fire.
— There is another option — to quickly accelerate and slip past the animal. But
there is one problem: it is quite difficult to decide on this action and
do it quickly enough for it to have an effect. Case in
the fact that in this situation, fast acceleration is contrary to the driver’s
reflexes. But be that as it may, under certain conditions this option
is the best way to avoid the moose.
— Sometimes moose behave like this: not even being directly on
the path of an approaching car, they freeze in the light of its headlights, and when car
pulls up very close — rush to the road. This often results in
that the moose is beating against the side of the car. It is very difficult to deal with such behavior,
because if you slow down, you will only increase the chance of a collision.
— It is best in this situation not to make sudden movements with the steering wheel and not to change
driving speed. If there is the slightest chance of meeting an elk, then do not drive
worth it — keep your speed within reason.
— If you feel that riding in moose habitats is getting too much
dangerous, then park on the side of the road and rest; as an option, you can
stay overnight at a roadside hotel; the most cardinal way
to avoid discomfort — postpone the trip during daylight hours.
Better to be late and stay alive and unharmed than get hurt or
even die in the name of the schedule.

Warnings

— Seeing the moose at night is not so easy, because their skins are dark in color. If
If you know you are passing through wild animal habitats, then be doubly
careful.
