Breath of the Wild’s world is being remade in Animal Crossing
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild boasts one of the most impressive open worlds of any Zelda or Nintendo game. From sprawling deserts filled with billowing sand dunes to grasslands speckled with lakes, its environments inspire those traversing its lands to keep exploring. Now, these beautiful environments are inspiring Animal Crossing: New Horizons players to remake iconic locations from its world, one region and building at a time.
Recreating these sprawling environments in New Horizons is no small task, and presents serious design challenges, as Breath of the Wild is a giant, open-world adventure. As you walk and climb your way through its world, the landscapes tower over Link — the mountains and giant Hyrule castle make Link feel tiny. But New Horizons players have found unique workarounds to capture the feeling of Breath of the Wild.
Oftentimes, Animal Crossing players focus on specific locales or landmarks to remake. Here we see Naydinfar, whose account is largely dedicated to Breath of the Wild builds in Animal Crossing, recreating the Lost Woods. By playing with the perspective and adding lots of dead trees and grass, she’s able to capture the creepy and empty feeling of the Lost Woods from Breath of the Wild.

The new 2.0 update brought new castle items, giving players the perfect opportunity to recreate Hyrule castle. Naydinfar posted a time-lapse showing the full process of building the castle.

Here, we see Impa’s house in Kakariko Village recreated. It even has the statues out in front with the apples just like in the Zelda game.

But it’s not just that Breath of the Wild’s world is large. It’s also filled with unique landmarks. In one region called the Thundra Plateau, towering mushroom-like rock formations sprout up from the land.
As a result, creators like Narydinfar have found crafty workarounds to portray the specific landmarks. Here, the creator uses literal mushrooms to recreate the terrain of that region.

Other creators have taken inspiration from the atmosphere of the game’s world on their New Horizons’ island. Breath of the Wild takes place in a version of Hyrule that suffered massive devastation. Because of this, the game has lots of areas filled with crumbling ruins for Link to explore. This build recreates that look.

Breath of the Wild isn’t the only Zelda game that’s inspired Animal Crossing players to recreate its look. Here, a streamer remade Link’s home in Link’s Awakening, which looks great given the miniature style of the 2019 version of the game matches well with the visuals of New Horizons.

Official Zelda items came to Animal Crossing: New Leaf. However, New Horizons has yet to get an official collaboration with Zelda (and likely won’t since Nintendo said the 2.
0 update would be the game’s last). Still, that hasn’t stopped creators from remaking areas in the game as well as making patterns to recreate Link’s outfit in the game.

Happy Home Paradise Should Be a New Beginning for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Not the End

The extension offers a creative career as a designer in the archipelago, with a satisfying sense of progression and a bountiful array of new pieces of furniture and design.
As the very first paid DLC, it was no doubt delivered as a fantastic and essential addition to Tom Walk’s vacation package, but there’s also something rather acclaimed and significant about its arrival. After some confusion caused during the expansion’s initial reveal, Nintendo clarified that Happy Home Paradise will be the first and only paid DLC to reach our sandy shores. Along with Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 2.0 — which marks the end of major free updates — Happy Home Paradise now feels like the last big hurray for New Horizons, and in a way, it’s a shame to see it coming so soon. During the first year of Animal Crossing: new horizons, the changing seasons brought various updates that kept the excitement surrounding the island life very much alive. As we entered the new year and we started repeating the same seasons again, without any changes, the appetite for new additions only increased among players as the months stretched on.
Although we had to wait a while, Animal Crossing Direct in October offered a very generous helping with the opening of the happy home expansion and the 2.0 update. We’ve been showered with a host of exciting new features — the return of the Brewster Cafe, along with the introduction of cooking, farming, island mysteries and much more. Suddenly, players who had retreated from their virtual islands in the absence of updates were tempted to return once more. In a way, it was actually pretty overwhelming to have so much to do and discover everything right after so long, but the joy surrounding the announcement only served to illustrate how eager gamers must have a reason. to jump. The DLC in particular offers a whole new experience that has proven such a breath of fresh air for me as a longtime player. I especially appreciate how he encourages me to work steadily on advancing my new job as a designer, with various unlockable features to get along the way. It’s actually so good that I can’t help but let me wonder what else Nintendo could do, was it to reverse their decision to end support for New Horizons and bring us more paid expansions in the future. Considering that our island has an airport that can take us to new places, it is so ripe for choice when it comes to attracting new adventures. It feels like such a missed opportunity to end the expansions in Happy Home Paradise — especially when you consider how successful New Horizons has been. With an impressive 34 million copies sold as of September 30, 2021, little more than two years after it first launched, it is now the second best switch switch of all time and the most successful animal crossing to date. Of course, we don’t know what Nintendo has planned for sure, or what it may already have in the works for future animal crossing. It is important to remember how and how common animal crossing has become in 2020, and the circumstances surrounding its launch. Released just like parts of the UK and the US are bookmarking, many have turned to virtual running as a means of connecting with loved ones and bringing in life milestone moments they couldn’t feed in the real world. From finding his way into talk shows, museum collaborators, Mayonnaise advertisements, pride events and more, he has become a cultural phenomenon during the pandemic. Nintendo has already made huge sales of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but it lacks one way to make extra money.
2020 has been a quiet year for Nintendo overall, but it has still had one big success thanks to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It’s been quite a while since Nintendo released the new core game Animal Crossing , so Animal Crossing: New Horizons was a welcome addition to the franchise. However, the success of the game reaches a scale that even Nintendo did not expect.
It just so happens that it was the perfect game to kick off the COVID-19 pandemic, giving people everywhere a fun new way to mimic nature and chat with their friends from a safe distance.
Nintendo clearly knows that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is still losing heavily because New Horizons was recently confirmed to get more updates this year. The game may have been released a year and a half ago, but it looks like Nintendo has stopped supporting it. However, free updates are not the only way it should support New Horizons, although does. In recent years, Nintendo seems to have fueled the idea of paid DLC by adding it to several different games and earning a lot of money from it. Thus, you should consider creating additional paid DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons along with regular game updates.

game. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS offered purchasable characters from DLC and Smash Ultimate captured this trend with great success. However, this is not the only example. Nintendo broke its rules by creating paid expansions for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild by adding new missions for Link. There are also recent expansions for Pokemon Sword and Shield, , which introduced new parts of Galar to explore and hundreds of Pokemon previously missing from Sword and Shield. . All of these DLCs have been quite popular, so there’s a good chance that Nintendo will continue to experiment with DLCs in the future.
It’s true that not everyone likes Nintendo’s new trend of paid expansions. For example, some fans are still critical of the Sword and Shield DLCs for adding Pokémon they thought should have been in the main game from the start. However, it highlights how DLC Animal Crossing: New Horizons can succeed.
The difference between New Horizons and the latest Pokemon games is that there are no obvious omissions that Nintendo could fix with expansions. New Horizons is already very well received, so Nintendo can focus on adding more ways to have fun rather than using DLC to fill in the gaps. As long as Nintendo follows this rule when creating DLC in the future, it should be better received. It’s extremely difficult for an expansion to completely change the perception of a game, but an expansion can always improve on a game that fans already love.

Imagining Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC
Nintendo may be going in different directions when it comes to Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC . For example, Nintendo might offer villagers exclusive to DLC to fans. Dozens of characters don’t appear in New Horizons, especially in the villages from the very early Animal Crossing games, so a collection of classic villagers might appeal to longtime 9 fans0011 Animal Crossing.
Similarly, there are some villagers exclusive to new games, such as Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp , which can be good DLCs appealing to fans who have enjoyed the mobile game in the years between Animal Crossing: New Leaf. and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
However, Nintendo didn’t necessarily stop at the villages from past games. It can also introduce some amazing brand new villagers taken from other Nintendo IPs. Technically Nintendo has done this before — previous Animal Crossing games were giving fans of The Legend of Zelda the chance to get Twilight Princess ‘Wolf Link, Ocarina Epona of Time and the infamous Demon King Ganon as villagers. Nintendo could easily bring back these characters as DLC and then some. For example, it could go so far as to add exclusive non-animal villagers in the form of well-known Nintendo characters. Characters like Mario and Princess Peach can add fun to any New Horizons village .
In addition to the villagers, the endless amount of cosmetics that Nintendo has to offer as DLC. The recent Super Mario New Horizons event was warmly received, so there’s no reason why the company couldn’t make similar themed additions to various Nintendo franchises. For example, decorations based on Pikmin will be a charming addition to the player’s garden, and furniture based on The Legend of Zelda, Splatoon, , etc. can help fans recreate their favorite game. hubs and show off your love of the franchise at your farmer’s house. There is always room for more decor options in Animal Crossing.
New Horizons is here to stay
I wonder how likely Nintendo will decide to capitalize on Animal Crossing: New Horizons ‘ success.
