Next up is Instagram user narga_lifestream’s Aerith cosplay, featuring Final Fantasy 7‘s Zack Fair character as well. In the story, Zack and Aerith are two lovers meeting at the wrong time, as before anything major can come from their blossoming relationship, Zack is killed by Shinra Forces, ending a beautiful love story in tragedy. This cosplay and scene, with this prior knowledge, is especially heart-wrenching, as seeing the duo together in a romantic setting shows players what might have been if their story had a happier ending.
Another thing to note about this cosplay is that the lighting and design makes it look as if it were straight out of a promo for the video game itself, giving it a very finished and professional feel and picture quality. All these elements combined create a wonderful, heart-wrenching cosplay.

Furthering the tragedy of Aerith is a cosplay from Instagram user adellacosplay, who shows off the character in her most infamous moment, her death scene in the original Final Fantasy 7. After being stabbed through the chest by series antagonist, Sephiroth, Cloud is given the opportunity to lie Aerith to rest, in one of the most emotional and shocking scenes of Final Fantasy so far.
This scene is extremely accurate to the game itself, capturing the outfits and poses down to the last detail. On top of this, the aesthetic of the photo looks emulates a painting, through the use of wonderful framing and lighting. Finally, the use of actual water to mimic the scene is a wonderful touch showing just how far cosplayers will go to create an authentic and accurate photo.

Though cosplayers mostly choose to make Aerith cosplay in her classic outfit, some cosplayers choose to show off some less iconic outfits the character has worn throughout Final Fantasy 7.
Instagram user nikata.cosplay shows off a wonderful example of Aerith in her intricate Final Fantasy 7 red dress, something that is unlocked by doing side quests in Chapter 8 of FF7 Remake. Though the dress is only briefly featured compared to the overall size of the game, nikata.cosplay recreates it in amazing detail, alongside a perfect rendition of Aerith’s hair. Smaller details, like the flower that replaces the bow in her hair, are also present in this cosplay, though it seems to be lacking Aerith’s necklaces and bracelets she usually wears. Even without these however, the cosplay comes together with a wonderful setting of red flowers that help show off a stunning outfit.
Aerith’s Voice Actor Briana White Also Enjoys Cosplay
Finally, the last cosplay comes from the voice actor for Aerith in FF7 Remake, Briana White, on Twitter. Briana also shows off the special, unlockable dress of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which once again includes every aspect and accessory in stunning detail.
On top of this, the setting of the photos is very reminiscent of the chapter where Aerith is seen in her read dress, exploring a beautiful city scape, with magical looking yellow lights. One of the best parts of the cosplay is how much fun Briana looks to be having while wearing it, matching Aerith’s innocence and kindness perfectly. Although this shouldn’t be surprising for the voice actor of the character, it’s nice to see the amount of love that is goes into the production of the game, and how well the source material and characters are being handled.
While cosplay for Final Fantasy 7 isn’t something new, the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, as well as the fast approaching sequel, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, has ushered in a new age of wonderful cosplay to be explored. Aerith remains a fan-favorite character to cosplay, giving players many creative ways to pay tribute and help immortalize the tragic heroine. Despite her popularity however, each cosplay still gives a fresh take on the character, each choosing to focus on a different aspect of what makes Aerith’s character, personality, and design in Final Fantasy 7 so great.

What is COSPLAY?
One of the most popular trends among the youth today is cosplay. What is it? This is a form of embodiment of the action performed on the screen. Modern cosplay originated in Japan among Japanese anime and manga fans. The main prototypes of the costume game are the characters of cartoons, anime, video games, movies, comics, legends and myths.
Today we will talk with one of the best cosplayers in Rostov-on-Don — Tina Dark.
— Tell me, Tina, how long have you been into cosplay? What prompted you to such a hobby?
I have been cosplaying for three years now. There was a desire to embody something unusual, because cosplay is like a costume game in which you can give free rein to your imagination.
— What was your first cosplay? Do you consider it successful?
— My first cosplay is the demon Sebastian from Kuroshitsuze’s game «Dark Butler», as the name of this game is translated into Russian. I can’t say that I am delighted, but for the first time it will do.
— Which of the embodied images, in your opinion, was the most successful?
— It is difficult for me to single out one thing, because each costume is already like a native, and each time the costumes become more and more difficult in terms of manufacturing and detailing, so which image is the most successful, let the audience and readers decide.
— As far as I know, cosplay is an expensive pleasure, how do your loved ones feel about this?
— Yes, this pleasure is not cheap, but those close to it are very positive, they like to observe both the process and the result.
— Do you sew costumes yourself or buy them somewhere? How long does it take on average to make a suit?
— I sew myself. It all depends on the complexity and number of additional parts, «crafting», but on average about 2-3 weeks.
— Cosplay, like some other hobbies, takes a lot of time, does it somehow affect your studies?
— No, one does not interfere with the other at all.
— The appearance of the cosplayer is quite specific, especially during photo shoots and festivals. Have you ever had problems with the police because of this?
— The police treat this normally, they always ask to be photographed, in rare cases they just pass by.
— Which of the festivals you have visited do you remember the most? Which ones would you name as your favourites, and why? Are there any that you will never visit again?
— At the moment I have only been to Tanibat, so there is nothing to choose from yet, but I will tell you that this is a very good, colorful and positive festival.
— Are there any characters you wouldn’t cosplay under any circumstances?
— I find it difficult to name a specific character, the only thing I can say is that under no circumstances would I agree to be photographed in the Nude style.
— Is it hard for you to play roles? Can you talk about the most difficult ones?
— In general, it’s not difficult, because initially a character is chosen who has hooked on the soul and made you fall in love with yourself, so it’s very easy to play them, the only thing that always causes difficulties during photography is romantic productions, at such moments everyone abruptly breaks into laughter, but even this can not be called a difficulty, just a fun creative environment that gives a lot of positive memories.
— How do you feel standing on stage?
— It is difficult to describe the entire palette of emotions that rages inside, everything is so contradictory, but if you say in one word — adrenaline.
— There have been a lot of «young» cosplayers lately, how do you feel about that? Could you give a couple of tips for beginners?
— New faces in the cosplay world, in my opinion, it’s great, it’s especially interesting to see how they grow in terms of their work. The only thing I can tell them is: «You can do everything, the main thing is to want and act.»
— Do you plan to cosplay in the future?
— Of course, this is already an integral part of my life.
— Do you have a dream?
— I think that everyone has a dream, and I am no exception, but this is what it is, this dream, I hide it, let it be my little secret.
