    3. Formations & Instructions (4-2-3-1)

    The 4-2-3-1 formation is great and is just one that can’t go wrong as it’s very hard to break down. This formation is also very good for counter-attacking but you’ll want your wingers to be very fast but the main weakness of the 4-2-3-1 is that it doesn’t have 2 strikers.

    4. Formations & Instructions (4-4-2 & 3-4-2-1)

    The 4-4-2 is Donovan’s second favorite formation because of the nice square it forms in the attack. This gives you a lot of options to play aggressive and score even if it’s missing a CAM. You can easily pass the ball from your center midfielders to your strikers, and create different openings but you need to be careful because after the patch your strikers don’t come back anymore so look out for the defense.

    5. Passing Types

    There are a lot of different ways for passes to create opportunities. A good way to do this is to use through balls down the line and then back to your center. Tekkz claims that the best way to pass in FIFA 20 to create space to score, is passing from center mid to center mid.

A Tactics Guide to the 4231 from an Elite 3 and D1 Player : FIFA

This is the first time I’ve ever done anything like this, but I see a lot of people struggling to find a formation that suits them, so I thought I might as well try to help someone out, even if it’s just one person.

I’m no pro at FIFA or anything, but I think of myself as pretty competent at the game, and I have no idea whether or not this is a good tactic overall, or how it would hold up for someone better than me, but I’ve found that it works really well for me, and I want to share it in the hopes that someone will find it useful.

I’ve also been running the 4231 regularly since FIFA 15 (with random switches to other formations occasionally), so at this point I’m pretty familiar with passing lanes and openings .

Tactics:

DEFENSE:

Defensive Style: PRESSURE AFTER POSSESSION LOSS

Width and Depth: 5

  • Medium depth and width help me to avoid getting completely caught out on counterattacks, while keeping my players far enough up the pitch to pressure the ball after I lose possession, thus helping pressure after possession loss be more effective.

OFFENSE:

Offensive Style: BALANCED

  • Nothing fancy here. I’ve experimented with other tactics, mainly possession, but I felt that there was not enough movement in the box when I used the possession tactic. Balanced provides a mix of possession and fast build up: allowing me to counter attack if the opportunity presents itself, while also helping to retain possession under pressure and move the ball around quickly when the opponent is sitting back.

Width: 4

Players in Box: 7

Corners: 5

Free Kicks: 4

Player Instructions:

ST: Stay Central, Get in Behind, Normal Interceptions, Stay Forward.

LCAM and RCAM: Stay Forward, Get Into The Box For Cross, Free Roam, Normal Interceptions

CCAM: Stay Forward, Get Into The Box For Cross, Stick To Position, Normal Interceptions

Both CDMs: Cut Passing Lanes, Stay Back While Attacking, Normal Interceptions, Cover Center

LB and RB: Balanced Attack, Normal Interceptions, Mixed Attack

CB: No changes from standard

GK: Comes For Crosses, Sweeper Keeper

Overall these instructions provide balance between attack and defense. The CCAM staying central plays the most important role in the team. The CCAM facilitates switches between the wide CAMs and acts as a bridge between the CDMs and the attack.

Balanced fullbacks provide width and help to overload the opposition fullbacks by creating 2 on 1 situations with the wide CAMs but does leave you open to counters.

CDMs staying back provides defensive cover for overlapping/underlapping fullbacks.

Overall:

I think this formation provides a good, balanced attack and the relatively narrow attack provides openings for the fullbacks to overlap or underlap while maintaining high numbers in the center of the pitch. The higher depth and press after possession loss tactics will leave you susceptible to counter attacks but pacey CBs and fullbacks with high stamina will often be able to recover (you will need to make tactical fouls occasionally to stop some counters).

I currently use a fast striker, but a slower #9 playing as a target man or false 9 allows for better interchange between the CCAM and ST which can pull opposition CBs out of position.

I’ve also found that using wide CAMs instead of wingers helps me to avoid just hitting random through balls when I get frustrated. The 4231 forces me to play through the channels and helps me to keep a consistent playstyle.

Notes:

I don’t think this is a revolutionary set of tactics, most of them seem like pretty common sense, but hopefully this will help someone or at least give someone another formation to try out!

TLDR: 4231 is good this year, give it a shot.

In this article we will talk about the best formations with settings that really give results in FIFA 21. To begin with, we will analyze the neutral and most balanced schemes that will work well as a basic game plan , regardless of account.

4-4-2 lane

A timeless classic that will help you make the most of everything that is currently in the meta. If you need passes through the cut and lightning passes along the flanks, the players have runners on the LR and RR for this. If you want to break the center of the defense with short plays into the wall, two forwards will certainly help you. If you are afraid of a hole in the center of the field, install central midfielders with good tackle.

The only point that needs to be taken into account for this scheme is that you need pacemakers on the flanks and an equally fast and dexterous attack. Otherwise, the design will not play one hundred percent.

Task settings

  1. Full defenders stay back.
  2. Wing midfielders and the striker duo run behind.
  3. LR and SR are also instructed to break into the box during crosses, even if they are frankly weak players. They won’t have to hit their heads, however, they will close the gaps and put incredible guns with rally strikes, they will only go on their way.
  4. With regard to the pair of central midfielders (CM): both necessarily close the center. One of them, which is stronger in destruction and weaker in creation, there is a reason to prescribe to stay behind. Leave the second on the balance sheet.

As far as attack and defense settings are concerned, it is recommended to leave almost all parameters by default, we only change the depth. We put here two or three divisions and slightly reduce the number of players in the penalty area with standards.

Second Variation 4-4-2

In order not to lose the defensive duo, you can try the same scheme, only slightly more defensive. In essence, the only difference is that your pair of central midfielders will be located deeper on the field, but this is a pretty significant detail. It simultaneously saturates the defense in the center of the field and complicates the creation through the center. You will have to attack with it either through the flank, or through medium and long passes to the attackers.

If it suits your style of play, this setup will go even better than the classic 4-4-2.

Let’s say that the first neutral scheme you chose is the one with saturated flanks and a double attack. In this case, the second basic game plan should be done in reverse: with the concentration of players in the center of the field.

Narrow 4-2-3-1

The best variation and probably the strongest scheme in the last three years of FIFA. Here you get the optimal balance in all lanes, sacrificing only a little the width and the number of the attack. However, if all parameters are correctly configured, these losses are not significant.

Tasks:

  1. full-backs stay behind;
  2. Defensive Midfielders (DMC) close the center. If one of them fails in attack or in creation, leave him behind;
  3. extreme central attacking midfielders (CAP) burst into the penalty area during innings;
  4. strikers run behind.

The settings for the sliders will be the same as for 4-4-2, the only difference is that the depth of two can be safely raised to three. And also add one division of the number in the attack, if you want your TsOPs to take rebounds from someone else’s penalty area and help to roll.

However, the central attacking midfielders are the key to this formation. The wingers need to be really fast and have technique, passable passing and finishing. Traditional runners, such as Adama Traore, will not be the best choice. And for example, Christian Porto is perfect.

In turn, the central DAC is not obliged to run fast, but he must be able to play with a ten, that is, specifically to help a lone striker in the attack. This is just the element of Antoine Griezmann and others like him. If you have someone similar, put him to stay ahead. In defense, he won’t help much, but he won’t waste stamina and will be able to make links with the forward during counterattacks.

4-2-2-2

The third option is no worse than those mentioned above, and in some ways even better. The 4-2-2-2 is a great formation for those who find the 4-2-3-1 too narrow and the 442 too flanked. In fact, this scheme is very similar to the previous formation.

However, instead of the central DAC, you will have a second striker in it. Therefore, in the attack it will be stronger. However, as in the previous case, it is necessary to put really fast creators on the DACs, who can blow up the flank and put the bank at a second pace. Do not forget to prescribe both — to break into the penalty area for crosses. The rest of the settings are exactly the same as the tasks and sliders in 4-2-3-1.

Narrow 4-1-2-1-2

If earlier this formation was used as the main one, now the layouts have changed. This year, it will come in perfectly when you fly into one bank, and you need to win it back quickly. Kind of a moderately aggressive variant.

The current meta is hard to defend on the flanks, so high level defensive skills are required. However, in attack it will be possible to exploit the wall game and the attackers running behind their backs to the maximum. It is this formation that is recommended to be placed on an emergency super-attacking plan, since it often drags negative rollers.

For tasks:

  1. we leave the full-backs behind so that the first counterattack of the opponent does not reduce the efforts in the attack;
  2. TsOP covers the center and rear;
  3. CPU pair plays by default;
  4. DAC stays ahead;
  5. The striker duo run behind them.

Set the sliders higher than in other formations:

  1. Depth — by 4;
  2. 90,031 players in the box — for 6 or 7.

As for the pressure in this and other layouts, it is recommended to manually adjust the arrows directly in the rink. It’s much more efficient. If players jump forward without your order, any experienced opponent will cut through your defenses.

The recruitment requirements for this formation are not particularly strict. The most important thing is to have a couple of forwards with a sufficient level of pressure, since the formation is sharpened for fast walls with fast runs.

5-3-2

The last scheme has really been a revelation for thousands of players in FIFA 21. It is very difficult to play against it in any mode, and it can be attacked very effectively. However, it requires a responsible approach to the selection of players.

  1. LZZ and PZZ must have a speed around 80;
  2. Full-backs must be able to play both defensively and offensively. And also have stamina in the region of 90.

Fernand Mendy and Kyle Walker are standard cards. More budget — Alphonso Davis and Jesus Navas.

By tasks:

  1. This is the case when full-backs do not need to write «stay back». If possible, they should help. In practice, you will end up playing 3-5-2 on offense and 5-3-2 on defense. In both cases, there is a numerical advantage.
  2. Central CPU left behind. Here you can put a support.
  3. Put a box-to-box next to it with default instructions.
  4. Forwards, as usual, are needed fast, with a decree to run behind the backs.

The sliders are mostly customizable.

  1. For a balanced version, leave everything by default, but set the depth to 3.
  2. For the bus, you should choose to retreat and reduce the number of players in the attack.

Wide 4-2-3-1

The most efficient bus is best formed with a wide 4-2-3-1 in which all players either stay behind or return to defense. The sliders are turned to the left side. Such a scheme comes in well in the last minutes, safely holding a minimal advantage.

In case, well, if you need to win back urgently, it is better to use either the narrow diamond mentioned above with aggressive indications, or 4-2-4. But this is already an emergency measure, again, in the last minutes, when another goal conceded by you will not decide anything.

Comments for the website0001

FIFA 21 is now available to pre-order players , which means more players and more competition . Now, it is important for many to understand which scheme to play with in order to show a good result.

If you have not found your game yet, or are open to a new one, this article is for you, in it you will see 5 non-standard schemes that work and allow you to win in FIFA 21.

You will see how schemes with an emphasis on attack , so with a solid midfield and there will be a defensive scheme , which will help hold back the onslaught of the opponent and keep their goal. Enjoy reading.

5-2-3 defensive formation

Since the game is built from the defense, you need to be able to keep the score, for this the formation with 5 defenders and two central midfielders who most of the time will come in handy are on the defensive.

Three forwards in front will be able to create dangerous chances themselves . The setup is good for the late game, when you’re winning and want to keep the winning score, or very early on, until you want to open up and your linebackers have a lot of energy to run and play box-to-box.

Offensive 4-5-1 formation

Balance after defense — rich center , this formation with 5 midfielders is just right for you.

You will need a technical striker with good finishing , as well as a hardy and reliable central midfielder with a good pass.

Fast wingers will help you disperse ‘s attack. With this formation, you will be able to roll the ball in front of the opponent’s penalty box and, if possible, bring your attacking players into striking positions.

The pattern is quite versatile and depending on your style, it can be used in different ways by changing tactics for the game, you can put the game in attack wider if the opponent is too narrow, or vice versa, is narrow if the opponent gives at least some zones in the center.

Balanced 4-2-3-1.

This is something similar to the 4-3-3 pattern, but with more emphasis on protection.

In this scheme usually two defensive players are used differently , one always stays in defense — it should be a midfielder with good body and tackle , and the other plays box-to-box , he needs good speed, endurance and passes.

And it’s very important for to pick up a technical DAC who can pull opponents and cut the best pass to forward with a good finish. The classic scheme for FIFA, works like clockwork and is very versatile.

Offensive 4-4-1-1

Quite an unusual scheme for FUT , it is used by a small number of players , because of this, if you come across against teams whose emphasis is on attack , they inevitably fall apart and open large areas.

You will need a fast forward and a DAC to cut the lines in fast counters. Recoup in walls and triangles to mislead the opponent, with this scheme it will be easy to confuse the opponent.

The main thing is that the opponent’s center should not be saturated with , although this does not always save the opponent.
