Not bad!

The console versions of this game never interested me, but as a big fan of the Gameboy Advance version of Urbz: Sims in the City, I had to give the GBA version of Sims: Bustin’ Out a shot, and this is actually a really solid game! I think Urbz on GBA is still my favorite, though.

I bought this game last week, and I have to say that I’m impressed. These graphics look just like real life, but better. Don’t tell my mom I’m playing this though. She doesn’t like it when I make the Sims «woohoo». While I’ve got your attention, did you know that some species of lizards have more than one peen?

Sims 4 crashes

Sims is a popular series of games from Electronic Arts, and not so long ago, the 4th part of the legendary life simulator was released on PC. However, every time gamers face various kinds of crashes and bugs, especially when installing a pirated version of the game (we admit, some of us sometimes neglect to buy a licensed version). Today we’re going to look at a number of issues with The Sims 4 that you may encounter when launching or using the game.

Crash and refuse to start Sims 4 may for several common reasons :

  • Video card and drivers. The speed of the game will become much better with their update.

  • Absence of Visual C++ Redistributable Package for Visual Studio 2013 libraries. You can download them from the developer’s site: https://www.microsoft.com/ru-RU/download/details.aspx?id=40784

  • An anti-virus that, when downloading or installing, removed the components necessary for the game (relevant for pirated versions). Therefore, before installing the game, disable the antivirus.

  • Perhaps the problem is in the crack (also the problem of pirates). Try running as administrator (The.Sims.4.Launcher.exe — option selection). If it does not help, then you need to download another assembly.

  • Low technical capability. It’s almost impossible to do anything here. Therefore, you need to make sure that your hardware meets the stated requirements from manufacturers:

  1. Operating system: Windows XP (SP3)/Vista (SP2)/7 (SP1)/8/8.1

  2. Processor: Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz / Athlon 64 Dual Core 4000+ 2 GHz

  3. Memory: 2 GB

  4. Video card: 128 MB, Shader 3.0, GeForce 6600 / Radeon X1300, DirectX 9.0

  5. Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible

  6. Free space on HDD: 10 GB

If you have Windows 7 or 8, then it is desirable that the RAM is 4 GB, or even 6 GB.

Error «Failed to start: game The Sims 4 is already running»

Make sure the game has not been launched before. Do a reboot. If it doesn’t help, you should reinstall the game (if necessary, saving the “Save” and “Tray” folders) and clean the registry using the CCLeaner program.

Censorship does not disappear, the squares have spread to the whole screen!

In this case, you need to find the TS4.par file in the game folders and rename it to The.Sims.4.Launcher.par. Sometimes simply restarting the game will solve the problem.

Sims 4 does not start, error » msvcp120.dll » games.

The application failed to start because Core/Activation.dll was not found.

Read the instructions for the pirate. With a properly installed crack, that file should be in the Core folder. If not, then the problem is in the assembly. In any case, try running the game as an administrator (The.Sims.4.Launcher.exe — option selection) and with the antivirus turned off.

Error code 0

You may have encountered this message: «The save game you tried to load was created in a newer version of The Sims 4. Update your game to be able to load this save game.» If you are facing error code 0 then try going to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\cache and deleting all .cache files. Then move the saves folder to your desktop and launch The Sims 4 and close the game. Now return the save file Slot_00000002.save from the desktop folder to the folder newly created by the game.

We hope our advice has helped you. If you have encountered other problems and know their solutions, please share them in the comments.

  • Pirates and licenses

Oddly enough, The Sims 4 can crash on PC for various reasons. Close during the game or immediately after launch, after an update or a new expansion is released. There are many reasons why. Sometimes the developers themselves release fixing patches, sometimes action is required on the part of gamers.

We’ll walk you through all the ways to fix Sims 4 crashes.

Before you start, make sure your computer hardware meets the minimum system requirements to play The Sims 4.

Method 1: Install the latest patch

Outdated software versions can cause errors when used, and The Sims 4 is no exception. That’s why developers keep releasing new patches to fix bugs and improve features.

So check for updates for The Sims 4 and install all available updates. Then restart your computer and see if your game stops crashing.

Updates will appear automatically in Origin, and you won’t be able to launch the game without them.

Method 2: Stop Processor Overclocking

Overclocking means setting your processor and memory to run faster than their official speed, and almost all processors come with a speed rating. However, this may cause the game to crash or freeze. In this case, you should return the processor clock speed to the default value in order to solve your problem.

Method 3: Update your graphics driver

A missing or outdated graphics driver is causing the game to crash and is one of the common reasons why The Sims 4 keeps crashing to the desktop. To rule this out as the cause of your problem, update your graphics card driver to the latest version as you usually do depending on your GPU version (NVidia, AMD, Intel)

Method 4: Try repairing in the Origin client

If Sims 4 is still crashing on your computer, you may be able to fix the game issue using Origin’s «Repair Game» feature.

To do this, follow these steps:

  • Open the Origin client and navigate to My Game Library.
  • Right-click The Sims 4 and select Repair. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process.
  • Restart your computer. Then launch the game to check if it works.

Method 5: Run The Sims 4 in Compatibility Mode

If you’re having problems running programs on your computer, try running it in Compatibility Mode.

Here’s how to do it:

  • Search for The Sims 4 in the desktop search box and right-click The Sims 4 to select «Go to file location».
  • The explorer will then open. Right click on TS4_x64 .exe and select Properties.
  • Click the Compatibility tab and select the Run this program in compatibility mode for: check box. Then check the box next to «Disable Full Screen Optimization».
  • Click Apply and OK to save changes.
  • Launch The Sims 4 again and see if the crash stops.

Method 6: Set Origin in game to off.

Sometimes the Origin settings in the game can cause the game to crash, so you can change the Origin settings in the game to fix your problem.

  • Launch the Origin client on your computer and sign in to your account.
  • Press the Origin menu button and select Application Settings.
  • Click the In-Game Screen tab.
  • Set it to «Off».
  • Restart The Sims 4 and see if it works.

Method 7: Update Your Existing Mods

If you use a lot of scenario mods, it is recommended to update them. If the update does not work or it is not there yet, or it is not required, then delete the mods (cut to a convenient folder outside the sims 4), start the game and check if it crashes without them.

Then add mods one by one to the MODS folder, each time start the game and play. Thus, there is a great chance to find the mod that «crashes» the game.

Method 8: clear the game cache

We have already devoted a lot of material to this issue on the pages of our site. Precisely because a lot depends on the cache. If you still continue to neglect working with it, you may experience problems with the game of a different nature.

One way or another, but clear the cache of the game and run it. Perhaps that is where your problem lies.

Why does my Sims 4 keep crashing?

It’s not uncommon for games to crash either on startup or while playing. First of all, you should check your PC hardware and system requirements for the game, and then make sure that your PC meets the minimum system requirements (although this can sometimes cause crashes). In addition to the system requirements, you should change the graphics settings for your game so that you don’t overwhelm system resources while playing.

What’s more, since corrupt or missing drivers can cause system errors, including game crashes, you can always update your hardware device drivers, which can provide the best possible experience.
