Release date revealed for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet

Today, The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo shared that the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games will launch on November 18, 2022, and announced newly discovered Pokémon in an all-new trailer on the official Pokémon YouTube channel.

Digital pre-orders for the games are available starting today on Nintendo eShop.

Cover Art Reveal

The new Legendary Pokémon appearing in these titles, Koraidon and Miraidon, are on each cover of the retail version of the game, and the title logos are embellished with foil stamp-like designs that use these Legendary Pokémon as motifs. The packages of these games have a similar look to the covers of old books and evoke the feeling that a new story lies ahead.

Multiplayer

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are the first open-world RPGs in the Pokémon series. Along with series staples, such as trading and battling Pokémon, players will be able to explore the various locations of the region in these games with up to four players.[1]

New Characters and Pokémon

Professor Sada and Professor Turo

For the first time, one of two different professors will appear in the game depending on which version players choose. In Pokémon Scarlet, players will meet Professor Sada, and in Pokémon Violet, players will meet Professor Turo. Each professor is carrying out research into lore passed down in the region.

Nemona

Nemona has a sunny, energetic disposition and is passionate about Pokémon battles. She’s an experienced Pokémon Trainer and serves as a friend and reliable guide for players on their adventures.

On their journey, players will encounter many never-before-seen Pokémon, and among them are the following three, which Nemona uses on her team.

Pawmi

In addition to the electric sacs in its cheeks, Pawmi has electricity-discharging organs on its forepaws. It generates electricity by rubbing its cheeks, then it shocks its opponents by touching them with the pads on its forepaws.

The fur that covers its body is good insulation against the cold and serves the purpose of storing electricity. When it feels uneasy, this cautious Pokémon will begin rubbing its cheeks, preparing itself to discharge an electric shock.

Category: Mouse Pokémon

Type: Electric

Height: 1′

Weight: 5.5 lbs.

Ability: Static / Natural Cure

Lechonk

Lechonk uses its sense of smell to find and eat only the most fragrant wild grasses and the richest Berries. As a result of its dining habits, it has come to radiate an aroma resembling herbs that Bug-type Pokémon dislike. If attacked by an opponent and startled, it will charge forward in a panic.

It may appear fat at first glance, but in reality, the Pokémon’s body is mostly muscle built by constantly walking around in search of food.

Category: Hog Pokémon

Type: Normal

Height: 1’8″

Weight: 22.5 lbs.

Ability: Aroma Veil / Gluttony

Smoliv

The oil that comes out of its head has a very strong bitter taste, and it is not suitable for consumption. When startled or attacked, Smoliv will shoot this oil out, slowing its opponent down. It will then seize that moment to run away.

In the fruit on its head, Smoliv stores oil made from nutrients it gathers through photosynthesis. As a result, it can go for a week without eating or drinking. It prefers dry and sunny climates, and it seems to spend its days sunbathing.

Category: Olive Pokémon

Type: Grass/Normal

Height: 1′

Weight: 14. 3 lbs.

Ability: Early Bird

New Details about First Partner Pokémon

New insights on Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly—the three Pokémon from which players will choose their first partner Pokémon—have been revealed.

Sprigatito

Capricious and attention seeking, it may sulk if it sees its Trainer giving attention to a Pokémon other than itself.

When Sprigatito kneads and rubs with its forepaws, a sweet aroma is released that can mesmerize those around it. This aroma has therapeutic qualities and makes opponents lose their will to battle. The composition of its fluffy fur is similar to plants, letting it create energy by absorbing sunlight. It adds moisture to its fur by grooming itself, which aids its ability to photosynthesize.

Category: Grass Cat Pokémon

Type: Grass

Height: 1’4″

Weight: 9 lbs.

Ability: Overgrow

Fuecoco

Fuecoco is laid-back and does things at its own pace. It loves to eat, and it will sprint toward any food it finds with a glint in its eye.

External heat is absorbed by the square scales on Fuecoco’s stomach and back, then converted into fire energy. These scales are always warm, and at times they can also grow very hot. Flickering atop Fuecoco’s head is fire energy that is leaking out from inside the Pokémon’s body. When Fuecoco gets excited, its head spouts more flames.

Category: Fire Croc Pokémon

Type: Fire

Height: 1’4″

Weight: 21.6 lbs.

Ability: Blaze

Quaxly

This serious-mannered Pokémon will follow in its Trainer’s wake. Quaxly is tidy, and it especially dislikes getting its head dirty.

Its body is always glossy because the gel secreted by its feathers repels water and grime. The coif on its head is slicked back using a rich, moist cream, and it becomes unkempt when dry. It has strong legs and can swim without difficulty even in places with strong currents. In battle, it kicks its opponents swiftly and repeatedly.

Category: Duckling Pokémon

Type: Water

Height: 1’8″

Weight: 13.4 lbs.

Ability: Torrent

Why you can trust iMore
Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

I’ve been a Pokémon fan since I first got my hands on Red and Blue in elementary school. Whether you’re a new Pokémon enthusiast or a veteran like me, there’s so much for you to enjoy as these are some of the best Nintendo Switch games. Anyone excited about upcoming games should preorder Scarlet and Violet. This will be the first open-world game for the franchise, and it’s sure to be an exciting title.

If I had to recommend only one game, it would have to be either Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield. These Gen 8 games are the third-highest-selling Pokémon games after Red and Blue and Gold and Silver. Plus, they introduce the Wild Area, sections of the map where Pokémon can be seen walking around in the overworld. If you have a Nintendo Switch Online membership, you can even jump into Max Raid Dens and catch Pokémon with others online.

For anyone who was a huge fan of the original RPGs, I cannot recommend Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Let’s Go, Eevee! enough. You get to explore the Kanto region in an all-new adventure with either a special Pikachu or a special Eevee at your side. You’ll take down Team Rocket, explore the original eight gyms, and can even see Pokémon wandering around in the overworld. Note that fighting is mostly removed from wild Pokémon battles and reserved for trainer or gym battles instead.

Whether you’ve played only one Pokémon game or you’ve played several, every serious Pokémon trainer should definitely use Pokémon HOME. The free service allows you to store up to only 30 Pokémon, but if you pay for the Premium subscription, you can store up to 6,000 from several different games and can trade with other trainers as well. It’s the perfect way to flush out your Pokédex or get super rare Pokémon you might have missed before.

November releases and new Pokémon in 2019

With a hugely successful hybrid console (both desktop and handheld) in your hands and fans eager to see it hit Nintendo Switch from one of its biggest and most beloved franchises, Nintendo has unveiled an updated timeline releasing some of their most anticipated games already announced at this year’s E3 2018.

In addition to the highly anticipated Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which will go on sale in December this year, Nintendo is also preparing to launch new games from the Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing and Luigi’s Mansion franchises, which are expected to be released in 2019year.

News Nintendo Switch

And for the fans of Pokémon , mainly those who were not so happy with the releases of “ Pokémon Let’s Go ”, which reaches Nintendo Switch November 16 of this year, Nintendo is already preparing a new generation of pocket monsters.

The eighth generation of Pokémon will be the first to leave Nintendo’s handheld consoles and arrive at the company’s mainstream console in full force, while still taking advantage of the game’s hybrid nature (tabletop and handheld). nine0003 Nintendo Switch .

The launch date has yet to be confirmed by Nintendo, but it will indeed be 2019. If what’s already known in releases of previous Pokémon games is confirmed, a new title for the main series of pocket monsters will arrive in November 2019, ready to blow up the holiday fair.

Pokémon Go! Pikachu and Eevee

Pokémon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Pokémon Go! Eevee» has evoked nostalgia for many long-time fans of the game series, as it is a kind of remake of the first games released for the Game Boy in 1996 year.

The game, which Nintendo says is not the title of a mainstream Pokémon RPG series, takes place in the classic Kanto region, where cities are named after the colors that stand out in each of them (for example, «Lavender», a city that was all lavender).

Despite this, the new mechanics implemented in Pokémon Let’s Go! leaves a lot to be desired for the most passionate players. Instead of the classic RPG mechanics known throughout the main series, the new titles are much more like the mobile phone game «Pokémon Go!» Sweets. nine0005

«Pokémon Go! Pikachu and Pokémon Go! Eevee is coming to Nintendo Switch on November 16th.

The Future of the Nintendo 3DS

With the success of the Nintendo Switch and the way it is played on both TV and handheld devices, many are wondering about the future of the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo’s handheld game console.

While the Japanese company refuses to announce the end of the console, still betting on some launches over the next few months, including 2019year, Nintendo fans and industry experts have already announced the end of the Nintendo 3DS, mainly due to the decrease in the number of game releases first side (from Nintendo).

Pokémon Sword and Shield Announced for Nintendo Switch

Pokémon Sword and Shield is the first major Pokémon game on the Nintendo Switch, The Pokémon Company has revealed. Both games will release later this year and are full of new features and new monsters to catch! nine0005

New Pokémon, New Games

These games are the first all-new traditional RPGs in the series since Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon in 2017. The trailer showed the full 3D setting of the game with new areas and trainers.

The region is called Galar, is described by the director as a more modern setting Shigeru Ohmori da Game Freak . It looks like an old factory with cranes, trains and a steel mill. The Pokémon Company adds that it’s «Idyllic countryside and modern cities — vast plains and snow-capped mountains.»

We also see trainers battling in real Pokémon stadiums, grassy arenas that look like soccer fields. One trainer even comes out in uniform, hinting at something more like an anime interpretation of the Pokemon world.

Other areas include a mine, a library, a train station, and a much bigger and prettier hometown than ever before. (Ivy-covered doorframes!) But as you can see on the map above, the Galar region certainly has plenty of snow to wade through. nine0005

Pokémon Sword and Shield will feature actual wild Pokémon battles, unlike the latest Nintendo Switch games ( Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee ), and the usual trainer battles.

There will be both new Pokémon and respawning Pokémon from previous generations. (We have seen monsters like Pikachu, Tyranitar e Munchlax , for example). According to the games website, Pokemon gyms will also return.

The seventh generation games, Sun and Moon, replaced those games with Island Challenges, a fun twist on the regular Pokémon form, but we missed out on the actual battles with Gym Leaders and Trainers. (Though, unfortunately, no one was in the trailer today.)

The newest trio of starters were also shown at the end of the debut trailer: Grookey grass type, Scorbunny fire type and sob and water type.

Unfortunately, no other new Pokémon have been revealed, including starting evolutions, but we have time to see more before launch.

Pokémon Sword and Shield back in 2019

Nintendo’s Pokémon Direct presentation this morning was to coincide with the franchise’s anniversary. pokemon do 23 years old today, with original games Game Boy (Pokémon Red & Green) released in Japan at February 27, 1996 .

It wasn’t until 1998 that we got the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the world of pocket monsters when the Pokémon Red & Blue versions arrived in Brazil. Along with the success of anime, Pokémon became a fever that gripped many young people and remains in their hearts to this day.

Earlier this year, Nintendo already confirmed a slot for future Pokémon games at the end of 2019year in accordance with the traditional release schedule of the series.

Many didn’t expect a new franchise game to be announced so soon, as Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee are still recent successes on the Nintendo Switch. However, Nintendo has already confirmed that these were spin-offs of the series and that it is already working on resuming the course of the original franchise now on a new Nintendo console.

With Pokémon Sword and Shield scheduled for release later this year, we have Poké Balls ready! Nintendo is expected to make small announcements soon about new Pokémon from the Galar region and new gameplay details.
