What should be the characteristics of a smartphone for a comfortable game of Pokemon Go

Before downloading the Pokemon Go game, you should make sure that your phone meets all the requirements for the successful launch of this application. In fact, this is a very important point, because even one parameter mismatch will not allow you to catch Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Hardware

Despite the system requirements of Pokemon Go, the game has many other requirements that are equally important. For starters, Pokemon GO is an online game. Offline play is not available. Therefore, it doesn’t matter if you are chasing Pokemon, developing them or «hatching» them, your gadget must constantly have access to the Internet, and of sufficient quality. With bad internet or without it, the game will not work.

Equally important in the game is the problem of autonomous robots. The battery charge lasts for a short time. And if you constantly play with the active AR mode (that is, with the camera turned on) and with a high screen brightness, then you will not play for long without recharging. Android smartphones have system requirements:

Therefore, you can comfortably play Pokemon Go with an Android-based smartphone when you have 2GB of RAM and nothing less. 2 GB of RAM is enough, but 3 GB is even better. In other words, if you have less than 2GB of RAM, but you really want to play, then buy a new smartphone.

You also need to have a new Android, because if the version is lower than Android 4.4, the game will not work, you will not even be able to download it from the Play Store. If you have a tablet with 2GB RAM, but it has an Intel processor, then, again, you will not be able to install Pokemon, because Pokemon Go does not work with processors of this brand either.

Apple owners have a slightly easier situation with the game. If you have an iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad that has a version higher than iOS 8. 0, you can easily play Pokemon Go. Otherwise, you either need a new smartphone or a different game.

Which smartphone is right for the game

Let’s find out which phone is right for you to play Pokemon Go! If you choose from Apple gadgets, then anything will do, starting with the iPhone 4S, but remember about iOS 8. iPod Touch and iPad 2 5th generation can also be played, but only if you have a WiFi connection or if you have a mobile hotspot with a good Internet connection and high speed data transfer.

As for Android, the choice is much larger. Just know that on any of the current smartphones, regardless of brand, the game is likely to run well. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 models will also work well with the previous Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S6 models. If you follow this principle, then you can add older models in your series to this list, for example, X3, Lenovo Vibe, Sony Xperia Z5, Huawei Mate 8, Xiaomi Mi5, ZTE AXON, Meizu M3 Note and M2 Note, etc. .

The first test of an Android smartphone starts with trying to download Pokemon Go from the Play Store. If you do not succeed, then your smartphone is probably not compatible with it. Therefore, the iPhone 4+ will suit you, but with Android it’s more difficult — a lot of models, not even older than two years old, are installed on the old Android base (4.2 is very popular). The cheapest smartphones for Pokémon Go

The new Samsung Galaxy J3 for 2016 costs about 170 euros, the camera is 8MPix. But the next smartphone is quite different in price — Huawei P8 lite (approximate price 189Euro).

If you want a different brand, check out the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua with a 13MPix camera and a durable case that will protect your smartphone from both water and dust (what you need for catching Pokemon in rainy weather). But here the price is more — 2 40 euros. And if you want an expensive smartphone, but a quality one, look at the Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 with a 13MPix camera or the very reliable CAT S30 for 250 euros. The camera there is 5MPix, but you can catch Pokemon even in the epicenter of a hurricane. The purpose of this list is to give an idea of ​​prices and different options. When you decide to actually buy a gadget, pay attention to the Android version (at least 4.4), the quality of the camera, the reliability of the case, and the battery capacity. Do not forget to buy an external battery, you will definitely need it.
