Pokémon Regional Championships | Pokemon.com
You can battle in Pokémon TCG, Video Game Championship (VGC), and Pokémon
GO Regional Championships, which take place all over the world. After the Pokémon
International Championships, the
Pokémon Regional Championships are the largest events in terms of both
attendance and Championship
Point payouts.
They also award direct invitations to the World Championships for Pokémon GO.
-
Up to $65,000 in prizes, scholarships, and gift cards (based on attendance)
-
No qualifications or residency restrictions to enter TCG or VGC events
Pokémon TCG players need to bring their own legal 60-card deck for the
Standard format. Pokémon VGC players must bring their own game system and a
legal Pokémon team. Pokémon GO players must have a legal Pokémon team on their
GO account.
In order to
participate, players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account; be in good standing with the Play! Pokémon
program; and comply
with current COVID-19 requirements for large Pokémon events.
Registration
for these events is handled by the Tournament Organizer, and an entry fee may
be charged at their discretion. Many Regional Championships require online
registration, and events may sell out. Please check the Event Locator for details about each event, including information regarding
registration.
All the
Pokémon TCG Regional Championships will use the Standard format,
though some may have Expanded side events. Pokémon VGC Championship Series
events will begin in January 2023 and be played in the Pokémon Scarlet and
Pokémon Violet games for Nintendo Switch for the whole 2023 season.
Pokémon GO events will use the Great League format.
Most Regional
Championships have both Pokémon TCG and Pokémon GO, and from January 2023 onward
also feature VGC events. Some events may be exclusive to players of one game.
See the table below for more details.
Regional Championships main events take place on Saturday and Sunday.
Event listings that include a Friday date feature side events and smaller
competitions on that day.

Pokémon GO — Region Exclusive Pokémon
Region Exclusive Pokémon | |
While the main series games dealt with Pokémon that were exclusive to different versions of the game, Pokémon GO changes things up a bit as there’s only one version of the game. Instead of Pokémon being exclusive to a version, or even to a save file, there are some Pokémon that are exclusive only to certain areas of the world.
As trading is currently not available from long distances the only way to get these Pokémon is to travel the world. However, it is possible for special events to shift the Region Exclusive Pokémon on a temporary basis. As of September 26th 2019, each Regional except Legendary Pokémon were added to the 5km Egg pools of their respective region. |

Video: What frenzy are Pokemon Go players going to
Pokemon mania drives users around the world crazy. In recent days, several incidents have occurred in different countries, in which fans of the super popular Pokemon Go game have become participants. Alas: as it turned out, «hunting» for virtual Pokemon can pose a real threat to the health and even life of the players.
Late last week a video appeared on YouTube showing a mass madness that took place in New York’s Central Park. People abandoned their cars right on the road and tried to catch the rare Pokémon Vaporeon. nine0003
A day later, in the same New York, users made a traffic jam on Fifth Avenue, near which a «hunt» unfolded for the equally rare Gyarados.
A similar picture can now be observed in many large cities. At Bellevue Downtown Park in Seattle, dozens of people raced to the edge of a green field where the Pokémon was hiding. The players who caught the monster dispersed with satisfied smiles on their faces, not paying any attention to those around them.
Even police officers from Fountain Hills (Arizona) joined in the pursuit of Pokemon posted on YouTube a video of a «special operation», during which a rare Pokemon Mewtwo was detained. nine0003
The game takes users to dangerous places. In Australia, a girl, along with a young man, wandered into a park completely covered with cobwebs. The couple pursued the Pokémon Meowth, but did not achieve the goal — the young people were horrified by the place they wandered into and hurried to retreat.
Two guys in California playing Pokemon Go fell off a cliff onto a beach near the sea — one from a height of 90 feet (about 28 meters), the other, not far from this place, from 50 feet (15 meters). Rescuers took the young people to the hospital with moderate injuries. nine0003
A Florida man nearly shot two teenagers who were playing near his house. Friends did not even try to enter the private territory — they just sat in the car nearby. However, the man, apparently, considered that this was enough, went out into the street and shot several times in their direction. Several bullets hit the tires of the car.
Many Americans have already put up notices near their homes to Pokémon lovers, demanding to stay away from their yards and homes. As a rule, in the pursuit of monsters, players do not look around, do not react to prohibitions — from the outside it looks like a stampede. And the developers periodically «heat up» the situation: for example, they set up a «gym» for Pokemon near the house of an ordinary American. As a result, dozens of players gathered here. It is good that the owner himself reacted to this with humor and did not shoot or call the police. nine0003
Finally, Pokemon Go brings about a radical change in life. A 10-year-old Scottish boy left home after his mom deleted the game and, by extension, all the monsters.

Each new and dangerous adventure of a boy named Ash and his monster friends lasts 26 minutes. Pokémon live on land, in water and in the air. Everyone is endowed with individual superpowers. And so the evil forces prey on them.
Keiji Ide, Counselor at the Japanese Embassy: «Pocket monsters, or simply Pokemon, is a very popular animated series in Japan. Now it is shown in 51 countries of the world, in America, Europe, Asia. ORT decided to buy the series on its own, and I am very happy that Muscovites and Russians can watch this famous series.» nine0003
ORT purchased more than 100 series.
But even in Japan, the Pokémon show isn’t over yet.
New stories continue to be invented.
On the first channel the series will go 4 times a week.
Sergei Suponev, director of the Directorate of ORT children’s programs: «The fact that we want to show it can be called some kind of act. There was a lot of noise around this series all over the world. In fact, a rather harmless thing. A sweet story, like the boy saves the little animals, teaches them to fight for goodness and justice. And there are bad guys who send them to the zoo for big money — everything that is scandalous in this film. » nine0003
The first few episodes of «Pokemon» were watched today by children from Moscow orphanages. Russian children liked Pokemon.
