Bug fixes:
————
* The redbull animation (cans sticking out of the arms…)* AMD crashes for people having processors not supporting SSE (now tested over here and it seems to work fine). Installer detects if the processor supports SSE and installs the right exe for RBR depending on this.* Smashed windshield is no longer black.* Slow-downs in replays should now be fixed.* Option to invert steering axis (Set the desired axis to change to true in the input.ini file).* The glass shader bug reported by www.richardburnsrally.de is now fixed. Extra:
——
* Optimization of the cubic map which improves the frame-rate.
* All scripts are now included in misc.rbz and scripts.rbz.
* Modding DLL (A readme document will be released soon.)
* Audio tweak. Comments below: New Features
—————
* Amplitude edit on some specific types of samples.
* Force number of audio channels to use.
* 10-Band Equalizer on the engine sound
Fixes
——
* Enabled environmental reflections ( Disabled in 1.01 ).
* Fixed broken door effect.( Disabled in 1.01 )
* Fixed transmission amplitude. ( Too loud in 1.01 ).
Important
————
* Read the audio.ini file for more information on the new features. Workarounds:
————-Q: Black mipmap lines appear in the road. A: The black lines appearing on the road is caused by the users forcing the driver to use AF (Anisotrophic Filtering) and/or FSAA (Fullscreen Anti Alias). By default it is set to be application controlled, which the game works fine with. This can have other graphical side effects, such as poor looking fonts and 2D graphics, because if you force to use these techniques they are applied to everything that is rendered instead of the application selecting where to use it. Also it does degrade the performance.

Hello to all. Little help again please. I DL and unpacked the above title updates. As most know I am not good with this pc stuff….to say the least. When I opened them there were several files. The Q is, where do I put them?
Is it as simple as all files get placed in the RBR main file?…Can I just open RBR and copy and paste each one of the files as they are, or do they go into RBR subfolders? I did not look at it much, but remember seeing a file called colors. Can I place that in the Main RBR file with all the others?
I have installed tons of tracks in rFactor under «Locations», but I did not see anything where colors would go.
Is it just simple as placing all the files in the RBR file? Thanks again.
Note…when I installed RBR there was a main page with a tab named updates. I just clicked it and let it load, so simple. I am almost sure it was called V 1.01 but could be wrong.

Where did you download these Patches?
Did you get them from our Forum post here:
http://www. racedepartment.com/forum/threads/rsrbr2012-installing-and-using-guidelines.12743/
If so, when you unzip them, you should get a file named Richard Burns Rally 1.01 Patch.exe, and Richard Burns Rally 1.02 Patch.exe. There will also be a Readme file.
Just double click those exe files, run them, and they will Patch your RBR for you.
It sounds like you may have already Patched to 1.01, but you can run the 1.01 Patch again, it wont harm anything. You will definitely need Patch 1.02 because it brings support for many Controllers especialy newer Steering Wheels.

Yes, they are those files from your tutorial. Cant figure it out. How do you unzip them? After rt clicking on a zipped file I get these options, none of which had those files RBR1.01 exe. and the RBR 1.02 listed. OPTIONS are…»Open»….»extract all»…..extract files»….»extract here»…..»extract to RBR-ENB settings RBR\» and «open with» then choice of winrar or win explorer. The first one, «extract all» brings up «unzip files to» and it gives me the path thing with a long path highlighted in blue. and the «Browse button»
Some of the other options bring up a window «this file already exists» do you want to relace with this file» so confused

If you have any file extraction software such as win RAR, 7z, or win Zip just double click the zipped file and extract it to whereever you can find it.
Alternatively, right click on it, select Extract to RBR_v101 and it will create a folder named RBR_v101 in the same location as the zipped file, and the exe file will then be inside that folder.
Same for 1.02.
Choosing Extract here should also do the same thing except the exe file should appear in the same place as your zipped file.

Both links Dl the zip file but when trying to extract, with winrar error message says damaged. Try them. I’m done with it mate. Thank you so much for all your time. I have extracted 128 tracks and many cars for rfactor and netkar. Dont think it is my program. Could be winrar just expired the trial, cause it was warning me.. I have no idea. Please try them to see.

They both work fine for me, I’ve tried extracting them using several methods and all work.
Lets try it another way.
Here are the extracted exe files, I hope you can download these, some Anti Virus programs block exe files (hence why they are zipped).

EDIT: If you can’t download the exe files because they are blocked, you can try these download options for the zipped files (I googled Richard Burns Rally Patch):

That did it! I used the «originals» you provided. I was going to google and saw your email alert.
I don’t get it. I just unzipped and extracted three tracks for rfactor this morning (winrar) I hope this improves my wheel performance, not quite right.Patch 1.02 is for that right?
One other thing, I did all the steps that you outlined for another fellow regarding weak FFb. I have the Elite. The FFB is fine, but the steering could be better.
During all these changes and editing with notepad. (all your «tutorials») my digidash is cut off. It was not before. It is set to full size in game. Just see the very top rpm’s. I am using a 42 inch 1080HD w/ VGA cable. BTW, my graphics are much better with the editing you suggested.
It is set to fullscreen in notepad. It might not fill up the screen on TV 100%, but I’m not sure it ever did. Any ideas to get my dididash back? I am going to check it again now and see. will post in a few minutes. So glad the updates worked. Thanks so much..

Yea, something has changed, not full screen anymore. Went to contol panel, everything appears the same in Display. My PC diplay is not full screen anymore, or rfactor. Does not fill up top and bottom, horizontal yes. Any ideas? I have not changed anything in control panel display.
It was like this last night, so it was not the updates installed today. Got to get that digidash back. This pc stuff. how do you learn?
Example..A person decides one day he would like to play racing sims. he goes to the pc store buys the game and all the equipment. How does he have any idea how to play? No instructions, not even when you buy the sim. anywhere regarding all the very heavy pc lingo. Winrar, extracting files. ini, config, on and on. No way in the world he could ever know what to do. I am convinced that 99% of pc gamers have had a lot of experience in their career using computers.
If your job never involved using computers, you just could not ever know how to set everything up. Never! This is why it is so intimidating to make a move, cause you screw up your sim, and you dont know how to get it back. There is a limit to how much you can ask……I am sure I have hit that limit. Life goes on

I understand the frustration. A lot comes from experience, you learn as you go. Asking for help on forums is how most of us learn.
If your monitor display doesn’t fill the screen anymore, and it is the same for rFactor too, then it sounds like your In-Game screen resolution doesn’t match your Monitor native resolution and your Windows resolution.
The resolution you told me you were using (1366 x 768 seems unusual to me). Is that the setting you have in Windows?
Do you know what the native resolution of your monitor (HD TV) is?
Normally I’d expect 1920 x 1080, 1768 x 992, or 1280 x 720.
I’m not experienced with using a HD TV screen with a PC, I use a normal widescreen monitor (23 inch).
Hopefully someone else can chime in here and help. Hint hint Senad or someone.

Do you know what the native resolution of your monitor (HD TV) is?
Yes. …1920 X 1080 …..per manual
The resolution you told me you were using (1366 x 768 seems unusual to me). Is that the setting you have in Windows?
Yes……set in Control Panel >> Display 1366 X 768
Yes, the in-game resolution in Notepad are X=1366 Y=768….same as PC setting in Control Panel >>Display>> 1366 X 768
Double, Triple checked all these values.

Just fixed it. Got my digidash back, and am fullscreen. Went back to the RBR ini file and changed to 1024×768. I was checking out myTV manual specs and it showed the highest supported PC (VGA) mode was 1024x 768
Thanks Warren, you are one helluva nice guy!

Remembering Richard Burns
Click to download audio player
On November 25, 2005, the 2001 world champion passed away after a short illness. During his 13-year career in the WRC, the Brit has won ten stages, speaking as part of the factory teams Mitsubishi, Peugeot and Subaru.
Burns has always stood out from his fellow rivals. He became one of the first drivers of the «new type» — more thoughtful and judicious in his approach to racing than their predecessors, but always able to show good times on special stages and «push» his rivals when necessary.
Beginning
In 1990, Richard made his first appearance by winning the British mono-series Peugeot 205 GTi. At the end of the same year, he made his debut in the World Championship — at the home stage, Burns finished in 28th place. Then he was assisted by Goble Wayne, but the following year, the crew of Richard Burns / Robert Reid entered the RAC Rally — in this composition they performed until the end of 2003.
The 1991 British World Rally Championship round Burns finished 16th overall and first in the A7 category.
In 1992, Richard switched to a Group N all-wheel drive Subaru Legacy RS and competed in the British Championship. The young Englishman’s two podium finishes caught the attention of the factory Subaru team, and the following season, Burns entered the home championship in a Group A factory Subaru Legacy — Richard became British champion.
By the way, Burns’ car was later sold to Russia and brought several victories to Alexander Potapov and Sergey Uspensky. It was in our area that Subaru ended her life after the accident …
Along with the performances in the British championship, Richard Burns tried himself as a reconnaissance pilot for eminent fellow countryman Colin McRae, and at the 1993 RAC World Rally Championship stage, Richard made a splash, finishing seventh in the overall standings.
In 1994 and 1995, Richard, who got into the number of Subaru factory team pilots, was sent to study wits in the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship. In addition, Burns still started regularly in the RAC Rally and finished third there in 1995.
Secondary roles
This is how the fate of the Briton happened — he managed to show high results several times, which went unnoticed by the press and fans.
The first time it happened was in that same 1995. With one round to go, 555 Subaru WRT teammates Colin McRae and Carlos Sainz tied for first place with 70 individual points each. The winner of the final stage became the champion — everything is simple.
At the previous race in Spain, the Subaru team braked McRae to give Sainz the win. The Scot was furious, but there was nothing he could do. In the UK, the bosses of the Japanese-British team allowed the riders to fight without any restrictions — let the strongest win. McRae took over, Sainz finished second. And the third — completely unnoticed — Burns completed the distance. But at that time it was his best result in his career and the first podium in the World Cup.
Three years later, the situation repeated itself. Before the start of the RAC Rally, Tommi Mäkinen (Mitsubishi) was two points ahead of Carlos Sainz (Toyota). At the very first stage, the Finn slipped on spilled oil and crashed the car. It was enough for the Spaniard to reach the finish line to become a three-time champion. But a few hundred meters before the finish of the race, his Corolla WRC stopped — the equipment could not withstand the intensity of the struggle.
Mäkinen became world champion, and in the shadow of this event was the home victory of his teammate Richard Burns.
But the Briton didn’t have long to be on the sidelines…
Success
In 1996, Richard left Subaru and moved to Mitsubishi, in which he immediately became vice-champion of the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship. The following season, Burns finished second in the Safari Rally, the toughest event in the WRC. In all other races of the 1997 World Cup, where the Briton reached the finish line — Acropolis, New Zealand, Indonesia, Australia, Great Britain — he took fourth place.
Burns won his first WRC victory in 1998 with another flash at the Safari Rally, a thoughtful and careful driving style that allowed Richard to keep the car until the finish of the 1,063-kilometre special stages.
Burns took his second victory at the RAC Rally and finished the season in sixth position overall, ahead of only the famous champions Mäkinen, Sainz, McRae, Kankkunen and Oriol.
1999 marked a return to Subaru. The team has completely updated the composition — now the colors of the Pleiades were defended by Juha Kankkunen, Bruno Thiry and Richard Burns. Following the results of his first season driving a car of the new WRC category, the Briton left behind his eminent teammates, taking second place with three wins and three second places in the stages.
The following season, Burns again finished second, losing the fight to Markus Grönholm — at the end of the year they were separated by only five points. Richard has four victories and two second places. But as many as four retirements due to technical reasons…
Title
As it turned out in 2001, in order to become world champion, Burns did not have to win every race at all. Having won only once in the course of the season — at the New Zealand Rally — while regularly scoring points at the other stages, Richard brought the season to victory with a margin of just two points!
His main rival Colin McRae flipped on the fourth stage of the final rally of the season, allowing Burns to claim the title.
Escape
Unexpectedly for everyone — including the management of the Subaru WRT — Burns, who had just won his title, moved to Peugeot in the offseason. A serious scandal broke out — in the application for the 2002 season, the name of Richard was indicated by both one and the other team. As a result, the situation was resolved in favor of the French team.
Burns spent quite some time mastering his new Peugeot 206 WRC — it took almost the entire first year. The results speak for themselves — no wins, five podiums, four accidents and a final fifth place.
However, in 2003, the Briton, who found a common language with the car, drove in his usual style — stability, stability and only stability. In the 13 stages where Burns took part, he retired only twice — once due to an accident and engine failure. In all other races, he earned points — and seven times he went up to the podium. Throughout 2003, Richard was in the lead without winning a single victory, and with one stage before the end of the season, he still retained his chances for the title.
Disease
Season-2003 for Richard Burns was supposed to be the last in Peugeot — next year the Englishman planned to return to Subaru for the second time.
On the way to the home race that ended the championship, Burns, who was driving an ordinary civilian car, suddenly lost consciousness. Luckily, Markko Märtin was in the car with him, taking control and avoiding the accident.
Participation in the rally was out of the question. An urgent medical examination brought much more terrible news — the Briton has an astrocytoma (a malignant brain tumor). Doctors began to fight for the life of the rider.
The Subaru team said they hope for Richard’s full recovery and look forward to seeing him in their team…
Chemo and radiotherapy had a positive effect — at first everything went well, and in the summer of 2004 Burns left the hospital. However, six months later, his condition deteriorated sharply and Richard was re-hospitalized to undergo surgery.
In the summer of 2005, the world champion was discharged from the hospital again, and in August he even visited the traditional rally car parade in Castle Combe.
However, this was the last public appearance of the popular rider. At the end of autumn he fell into a coma. On November 25, 2005, the Briton, whom the team called Richard the Lionheart, died.
Tragically, Richard Burns died exactly four years after winning his world rally title…
Legacy
In July 2004, the computer game Richard Burns Rally was released. Numerous rally fans who bought discs with it finally got their hands on a real computer simulator. Perhaps that’s why the game, unlike the Colin McRae Rally franchise, didn’t get as big of a hit — it was really hard to play.
However, it served as a simulator and to this day serves as a good tool for training — including very experienced and eminent rally drivers. For example, Alexey Lukyanuk, the champion of Russia and Estonia, the bronze medalist of the European Championship, is still training on the revised version of Richard Burns Rally.
The Richard Burns Foundation was founded in 2006. His mission was to help people with injuries and diseases of the brain. The Foundation is under the patronage of Markus Gronholm, Markko Märtin, Guy Wilks and their permanent navigator Robert Reed.
And Richard the Lionheart will forever be remembered by fans for his charming smile — and phenomenal prudence on the racetrack, which is now considered a must for the best rally drivers on the planet.

France. Unfortunately, this is not
the only complaint. I can not
to say that I am a great connoisseur and
asphalt lover, but in the demo version of Xpand Rally I
frankly liked the work
Techland. RBR is clearly weaker here.
It is clear to create absolutely
realistic car simulator
impossible. Until the case is
involve the vestibular apparatus,
no identity to speak of
can not. If we allow
statements about the sense of speed, then
it is purely conditional. Any
the simulator is much more tolerant of
abilities of a person than an ordinary
automobile. It’s one thing to get through
turn in sliding, sitting on a chair,
and quite different — in the present
car.
I mean that in RBR on
asphalt with this some bust.
The car easily «breaks» into a skid
80 and even 60 km/h! And often
it happens that easy correction
driving at a safe speed
leads to uncontrollable
slip. Rightly believing
that in a number of extreme modes for shod in wide slicks
car at all and speed over 100 km / h, I
for a long time I could not understand that
happening.
Probability of underestimated
transverse coefficients
the stability of the car itself is small,
because he manages
«swim» because of the harmless
braking from speeds that
otherwise than children’s for asphalt
call. Guilty, of course
tires. Feelings are paranoid;
it always seems that the car
is about to fall into a skid. They are
fails.
Dessert
You can’t spread physics on bread. I —
regular player, serve me
spectacle. With entertainment at RBR ,
as with physics, similar problems:
fifty fifty.
A good illustration is a championship.
It was made wisely, but time
obviously it wasn’t enough. Especially this
noticeable through the prism of the universal
disregard for the rules.
It would seem that SU with heterogeneous
coated are missing, and good.
The beginnings of management;
progressive skills of pilots and
mechanics really influencing
on the state of affairs in the tournament
table; tough fight for points. .. And
right there — there is no factory offset.
Abstract stages, not
speaking of a peculiar tradition
do not list all real
prototypes. Maybe the developers
focus on local
championships, just not enough strength
bring the world championship to
minimum requirement level?
The same with fireballs. Well in
after all: if you can’t
make all teams point guards
world championship, so at least not
bring into the game those who are in it and
not close. Toyota Corolla — yes, but where is it?
Ford Focus? Nice business! Wasn’t it better
take time to improve
hideous cockpits?
And yet in terms of organization
championship, despite
«toy», the Warthog did
a few essential steps
forward.
First implemented dynamic
weather. She changes all the time
influences the strategy
tire selection. Forecasters usually
say what is the probability
precipitation in percent; little trick,
but even this RBR low-priced
differs from the conditions of competitors,
where the rain is tightly bolted to
certain stages.
The developers could not exactly
follow the organization of the world
championship, however, to create in
playing the appropriate atmosphere
they had enough imagination.
Special stages, e.g. permanent
are shuffled. The same stage can
start with different SUs. Considering
variety of weather, get used to
specific routes are not so easy.
The work of judges is logically organized.

There was a lot of talk about
environment: marshals, spectators and
other animals. They even promised
helicopter, but it appears only in one case: if you shoot down a spectator on the Champion difficulty level. There are marshals, chattering on the radio.
Animals in the air intake are not
hit, and if they hit, then
definitely not mine.
Help from spectators, however
less exists. By command
menu item «Call for help» from
air, two men with
aunt, push the car onto the track
and immediately disappear. In fact, at real stages, such “intervention” is quite rare, and it can be observed mainly at winter races, when it is not so easy to get out of a snowdrift. (By the way, in
In fact, such «services» are far from free. themselves
participants in the operation
of course, happy to touch the car
hands, but the judges are less loyal — 20
seconds penalty. It’s not in the game.)
Finally, in whatever ditch you
fell, three brave men easily
they will take you out of there. Even in the canyon

Equally dubious honesty
different damage pattern.
What is true is true — at the level
«Realistic» one is enough
a gentle blow to make the motor come out
out of service. The approach inspires respect.
It is unlikely that Codemasters could not
implement something similar. FROM
the other side, nothing but
motor cannot be seriously damaged.
It does not happen that during the race

roadside ditches. Even at CMR

«replays» they are not at all

worry: for repair in RBR
there is always something to be found. BUT
the main thing is a rigid framework: from 20 to 40
minutes. And no one will wait
because time is artificial
accelerated. While you decide on
units and assemblies that require
surgical intervention,
the stopwatch counts inexorably
precious seconds. Act
needed quickly and decisively.
Prolonged repairs are punishable
fine. As it should be.
Catwalk
Three years ago Richard Burns
proved that it is possible with champions
fight. Just need to do it
carefully and diligently. You will not
chase fame, rank
the most intelligent and beautiful, and all
succeed. Burns — strong
rally professional. Stability
— this is the main sign of skill.
It’s Colin McRae either coming
in the top three, or does not come
generally. Cars shy away from him
like horses from Budyonny, and
results are not visible.
