Teil sechs ist inhaltlich noch aufgepumpter als sein ohnehin schon großer Vorgänger, und die Landmasse übertrifft alle Teile der Reihe bei weitem. Entsprechend viel kann hier pro Quadratkilometer passieren. Der kleinste gemeinsame Nenner, um mit all diesen Interaktionspunkten schrittzuhalten (falls man das überhaupt möchte), ist die Minimap.
  • Achtet auf die schwarz unterlegten Ausrufezeichen auf der Minimap. Diese tauchen nicht auf der großen Weltkarte auf und weisen auf interessante Orte hin, etwa hinterlassene Notizen, Poster oder Personen am Wegesrand. Interagiert mit ihnen und schaltet so neue Missionen oder Kartenmarkierungen für Höhlen, Verstecke, FND-Lager oder andere lohnende Dinge frei.
  • Steckt die Waffe weg, wenn ihr keinen Ärger wollt. Nicht jeder von Anton Castillos Soldaten greift euch sofort bei Sichtkontakt an. Oft warnen sie Dani erst, die Waffe wegzustecken (Waffenrad rechts), dem ihr nachkommen könnt. So erspart man sich unnötigen Ärger, wenn man gerade keinen braucht oder keine Lust hat auf Kämpfe. In einer Basis gilt das natürlich nicht (bzw. in einem gesicherten Bereich, wenn unten links «Unbefugtes Betreten» steht). Bei militärischen Zielen werdet ihr in der Regel sofort beschossen.
  • Nutzt den systemischen Ansatz aus. Für Dani gelten weitestgehend dieselben Regeln wie für Gegner. Ist die Erstürmung eines Außenpostens zu schwer, dann lockt ein paar Wildtiere vor (oder besser: in) die Mauern und lasst sie wüten. Oder schnappt euch an einem anderen Kontrollpunkt einen Panzer und fahrt die richtig dicken Geschütze auf.
  • Besser erst mal schleichen, als sofort loszuballern. Guckt beim Erfüllen eines Ziels, wie weit ihr auf leisen Sohlen kommt. Versucht wenigstens, die ersten paar Gegner ohne Alarm von hinten zu meucheln, vielleicht die Kameras auszuschalten, Vorarbeit zu leisten, Schalldämpfer zu nutzen. In einer Schießerei eskalieren kann immer noch alles, aber ihr habt dann wenigstens nicht mehr so viel Gegenwehr und Arbeit vor euch.
  • Immer auf den Kopf schießen. Wenn möglich, geht ruhig zu Werke und versucht, Kopfschüsse zu landen, am besten mit schallgedämpften Waffen. Das hat zwei Vorteile. 1) Kopfschüsse sind in den meisten Fällen sofort tödlich. 2) Schalldämpfer verhindern, dass Wachen in der Nähe etwas von dem Kill mitbekommen (außer sie sehen die Leiche).
  • Gegner schlagen Alarm, wenn:
    • sie die Leichen ausgeschalteter Wachen irgendwo sehen.
    • eine Leiche im Radius einer Kamera entdeckt wird.
    • Dani sich direkt blicken lässt.
  • Sichtlinien der Feine blockieren, egal womit. Für Schleicher reicht es mitunter schon, wenn ein schmales Holzbrett zwischen ihnen und dem Gegner ist. Hauptsache, sein Kopf ist hinter einem Hindernis und eurer auf der anderen Seite.
  • Ihr könnt an Kanten hängend spähen. Eine nette Funktion, um sicherzugehen, dass die Luft rein ist: Hängt ihr an einer Kante, an der sich Dani hochziehen möchte, könnt ihr vorher mit der Schultertaste einen Blick riskieren, was oberhalb dieser Kante los ist. Wer eine Basis etwa von unten infiltriert (und durchs Wasser kommt oder so), verschafft sich auf diese Art zusätzliche Sicherheit.
  • Nutzt die Werkbänke zum Ausrüsten. Überall in der Spielwelt findet ihr Werkbänke, oft auch vor Festungen und militärischen Einrichtungen. Deckt euch hier mit der Bewaffnung ein, die für das vor euch liegende Ziel angemessen ist. Und keine Scheu vor dem Wechsel: Wenn eine Erstürmnug zu schwer ist, kann es schon helfen, einfach die Bewaffnung oder den Munitionstyp zu ändern.
  • Nutzt das Handy zum Ausspähen. Mit der Pfeil-rauf-Taste nutzt ihr Danis Smartphone zum Auskundschaften des vor euch liegenden Geländes. In einer Basis lassen sich so etwa Sicherheitskameras, Geschütze, normale Wachen, Scharfschützen, Offiziere und andere Besonderheiten hervorheben. All das wird mit einer Markierung versehen, was das Navigieren durch die feindlichen Linien merklich erleichtern kann.
  • Schwachpunkte der Gegner ausnutzen. Beim Scannen mit dem Handy fördert Dani auch Schwachpunkte der Feinde zutage und sieht etwa, gegen welche Art von Munition die Kerle anfällig sind. Stattet euch an einer Werkbank damit aus, bevor ihr den ersten Schuss abgebt.
  • Klickt alles an, was aufleuchtet. Zumindest wenn ihr die Option «Blinkende interaktive Objekte» bei den HUD-Elementen aktiviert habt (was standardmäßig der Fall ist). Dann nämlich leuchten Sporttaschen, Kisten, Fässer und andere Objekte auf, bei denen es etwas zu holen gibt. Niemanden stört es, wenn ihr in einer Stadt Behälter plündert und mitnehmt, was ihr in die Finger bekommt.
  • Eure Amigos sind unsterblich, und das ist gut so. Klar gehen sie mal auf die Bretter, wenn sie zu viel Schaden erlitten haben, aber sie erholen sich wieder. Selbst wenn ihr ihnen nicht händisch wieder hochhelft (was natürlich ausgesprochen unhöflich wäre). Aber wer ohnehin den actionreichen Ansatz wählt, sollte auf die Hilfe der Begleiter nicht verzichten.
  • Kann man nach dem Ende weiterspielen? Ja, das funktioniert. Sobald ihr den letzten Einsatz der Hauptstory absolviert und die Credits gesehen habt, geht das Abenteuer für Dani weiter. Ihr könnt dann offene Missionen erledigen, den DLC angehen (falls verfügbar) oder die Aufstände niederschlagen (spezielle Missionen, die erst nach Abschluss der Handlung freigeschaltet werden).

Far Cry 6 Insurgency Guide: How to Unlock and Complete Insurgency Mode

So you’ve just completed the Far Cry 6 campaign. Well, your adventure is far from over. That’s because Rebel Mode brings new challenges. Here is our guide to Far Cry 6 , which will help you unlock and complete the Insurgency mode — post-campaign action.

In terms of storyline, Far Cry 6 has a Rebel mode due to the power vacuum left by the campaign. Although formally Libertad controls Yara, Anton Castillo’s many supporters in the army will not give up quietly. In fact, they became a new rebel force.

However, from a practical point of view, there are no radical changes. It’s not like there’s a new Dani Rojas among the FND or that your camps now require you to build bridges and other infrastructure in Yar.

Instead, the rebel mode in Far Cry 6 simply forces one specific province in Yara to be controlled by the FND. It really doesn’t matter if you took these places in advance. When you complete the game’s campaign, everything in that province, except for the guerrilla camps/hideouts, will be under hostile control. You can see one specific example in the image above. Noventarmas became a province controlled by the FND.

Note: a certain uprising lasts a week in real time. Important landmarks held by the enemy are marked with a white flag with red symbols/badges.

Rebel Targets

So what do we need to do in the Insurgency mode in Far Cry 6 ? Well, for starters, you can look in the menu to see the quests and individual rewards:

  • Capture 1 FND base — 1000 XP and 500 Moneda.
  • Capture 1 Checkpoint — 600 XP, 4 Industrial Schematics, 4 Industrial Composites, and 250 Moneds.
  • Detonate 2 AA guns — 600 XP, 4 Industrial Schematics, 4 Industrial Composites, and 250 Monedas.
  • Complete Special Ops: Maceo — 1000 XP and 500 Moned Coins. You can refer to our Maceo Special Ops Scenario Guide if you need help with this.

Note 1: some of your opponents here may be stronger due to higher levels. I suggest bringing the best of your arsenal with you, such as the Perfect Supremo Gadget, the Resolver Weapon, and the Standard Weapon.

Note 2: If you notice in the map image, there is no visible FND base in Noventarmas. It’s because I haven’t been able to notice it while playing yet. Eventually, I was able to locate the base by talking to nearby NPC guerrillas. This is the Yara Marine Service at the northeastern tip of the province (quite close to Esperanza).

After completing the above tasks, the whereabouts of the Rebel leader will be revealed. For that, it’s the FND Special Forces base, which is actually already in the neighboring province of Barrial (I think the game has run out of locations). The main target here is Raul Marin.

If you attack this particular base for the first time, the target will not actually fall down, opening the armory (which has an FND crate and a couple of jewelry boxes). Maybe it’s because this enemy is not the usual one you have to face. You can still find a duplicate Armory Keycard in the tower next to the large antenna.

Yara’s Revenge and other rewards

Eliminate the main target and other enemies to capture the base. This completes the Insurgency quest for the first week of Far Cry 6. You will receive many rewards, such as Moneda, which can be used in the Special Ops black market, as well as a Special Ops key that opens a stash in the Special Ops scenario.

In addition, you will receive a unique pistol, Yara’s Retribution (it does not appear in your arsenal by default). It has the following perks/mods:

  • Armor-piercing shells — shots pierce helmets and body armor.
  • X-large rectangular silencer — slightly reduces weapon noise and reduces effective range; overheats slowly.
  • Use your advantage — Increased weapon damage against enemies with low health.
  • Keep It Cool — Improves muffler cooling rate.
