GTA IV WINDOWS 10 SOLUTION

EDIT Aug 13/2021: PLEASE NOTE THAT CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE GAME WHICH MAY MAKE THE FOLLOWING UNNECESSARY. THERE IS NOW A ROCKSTAR LAUNCHER INCLUDED THAT CONFIGURES ROCKSTAR SOCIAL CLUB AND LINKS IT TO YOUR STEAM ACCOUNT. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RUN THE GAME BY HAVING ONLY TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
1) ADD THE GAME TO CONTROLLED FOLDER ACCESS IN WINDOWS SECURITY
SETTINGS(Virus & threat protection)
2) ADD THE GAME TO ‘EXCLUSIONS’ LIST IN WINDOWS SECURITY(Virus & threat
protection)
3) ADD THE GAME AS ‘ALLOWED’ IN FIREWALL SETTINGS.

Dear moderators, if you see the need to remove this post, feel free to do so. I was trying to do it from my end and ‘edit post’ was the only option provided to me.

PREVIOUS FIX:
Ok, so after about 20 hours and 50 attempts i have mangaged to get Steam GTA IV to run on Windows 10 in proper graphics mode with:
-NO PATCHES
-NO CRACKS

Here is what I did:(omit steps 1&2 unless you have used the liveless cracks, use a fresh install in that case)

1. Ensure GTA IV is completely uninstalled. This means any patches and liveless cracks as
well.
I use CC cleaner and Wise reg fixer to make sure no remnants stay on my PC. Make sure
GTA IV file is gone.
2. Install fresh copy of GTA IV from Steam Client. DO NOT START GAME YET.
3. Open Intel HD Graphics control panel, select and open 3D settings.
4. In 3D Application settings there should be a window showing Apps that have 3D settings, click
‘Browse’ and locate and select the «LaunchGTAIV.exe» file in your GTAIV folder. This should now show as ‘SecuROM Launcher’ in the window in your Intel HD control panel. Use these settings:
-Vertical Sync Use App Default Settings
-Conservative Morphological Anti-liasing- check Enhance Application Default Settings
-Multi-Sample anti-liasing -Use App default settings
-Anisotropic filtering-Use App Default settings.
-Apply settings.
That should take care of any graphic issues. DO NOT LAUNCH YET.
5. In Windows 10 open your XBOX LIVE APP and login using your GFWL(or XBOX)
credentials. MS ported my profile from GFWL TO XBOX LIVE for me. Start a new profile if
need be.
6. Now back to the GTAIV files. Follow your program86/steam/steamapps/common file path
until you find ‘Grand Theft Auto IV’ , right click and click open. You should see 2 folders..
GTAIV and Installers. Open the Installers file folder and locate XLiveUpdate.msi, right click
and install.
This will install the Xlive update for GFWL. If GFWL is not already installed you can get it from microsoft here: go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=201134
7. Now go to your ‘GTAIV’ folder, open it and locate ‘LaunchGTAIV.exe’ right click and open
properties. Click ‘Compatibility’ tab. Do NOT manually check the Compatabiliity Mode box,
leave it blank. Now in ‘Settings’ Click ‘Change high DPI settings and check ‘Overide High DPI Scaling performed by: Application
click ‘ok’
Check ‘Disable Full Screen Optimization’ Check ‘Run Program as Admin’ . .click ‘Apply’ to
apply these settings. Almost there folks.
8. From ‘LaunchGTAIV.exe’ right click and run as administrator. When Social Club screen appears click play. Game should start. In Menu screen of GTA IV click ‘LIVE’ and the GFWL
signin should appear, if you are signed in on XBOXLIVE APP in your Win10 start page it should have your credentials ready to login in this GFWL sign in window. If not, enter same as your XLive. Once signed in close GFWL login and click ‘START’ to play GTA IV.
I really hope it works for you as well, like i said i put about 20 hours and tried every update, patch, crack, fix, command line, that i could find related to this and on a hunch i wanted try to put the game into my Intel HD panel like I can with games in my GeForce panel.

RMN40″ and «FATAL ERROR: WS10»

Windows users reported Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA IV) failed to launch on PC with the failed to start 2000 error, RMN40, and WS10 fatal error. The detail error message prompted as below:

Solution 1: Launch GTA IV as Administrator

Step 1: Navigate to the location where you installed GTA 4.

Step 3: Select the Compatibility tab from the menu at the top, scroll down to the Settings section, and check the Run this program as an administrator option.

Solution 2: Install Visual C++ Redistributable Package

Step 1: Browse to Microsoft.com to download Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update.

Step 2: Select the appropriate language and click on the Download button.

Step 3: Check the executable file corresponds with your OS architecture and click the Next button to initiate the download.

* Alternatively, you can navigate to My Computer (File Explorer) > Steam > Steamapps > Common > Grand Theft Auto IV > Installers and execute vcredist_x86.exe or vcredist_x64.exe.

Step 4: Double-click to execute the Vcredist installation.

Step 5: Restart your PC after installation completed.

Solution 3: Install .NET Framework 3.5

Step 1: Go to Microsoft .NET official site and click on the Download .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Runtime button.

Step 2: Double-click on dotnetfx35.exe and click Yes at the User Account Control prompt to grant admin access.

Step 1: Download the latest version of the GFWL setup.

* Alternatively you can navigate to Program files > Steam > Steamapps > Common > Grand theft auto iv > installers and execute xliveredist.msi or the redistributable folder when exploring the CD.

Step 2: Double-click on gfwlivesetup.exe and click Yes at the User Account Control prompt to grant admin access.

Step 3: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

Step 4: Restart you PC.

Solution 7: Install Patching

Step 1: Download the latest GTA IV Patches from GameFront.com.

Step 2: Unzip the GTAIV_PC_Patch folder, and run the Setup.exe.

Solution 8: Bypass SecuROM

Step 1: Download the IPHLPAPI.DLL file.

Step 2: Unzip the downloaded file into the same directory where you installed the GTA4 executable.

How to Install?

1.Download and Install/open OpenIV.

2.Create a folder inside your GTA 5 Directory with the name «mods»

3.Copy your dlc.rpf file from GTAV\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday1ng\ to your mods folder with the same folders.

4.Browse to GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday1ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf\ with OpenIV and go in the Edit Mode!

5.Extract the Download file to your Desktop.

6.Select all yft and ytd files inside of the «Modded» Folder from the Download.

7.Drag and Drop the files of the «Modded» Folder to the OpenIV Window.

8.Now Browse to GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday1ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\patchday1ng\vehiclemods\blista_mods.rpf\.

Oh what’s about to begin…… Just a bummer. I can’t find other words. After all, they warned me ….. Everything is disgusting. My hardware, which is currently running any games on ultra settings, was just furious and confused, as was my psyche. And this picture of the new generation? 2014 in the yard). Games from seven years ago look much better and more pleasing to our eyes. This is a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ where there is nothing interesting. The city is empty, no physics. But such an idea was. Nothing catches, even hacked conversations from phones, who, where, when and to whom sucked. This is a tough consumer scam. And they also apologized for the fact that they say they postpone the release date, supposedly to make the highest quality product. Yes, you gentlemen would go to hell. It would be better to buy sweets for the neighbor’s children than to spend hard-earned money on such a finished, but what is there, mega-finished product. I think that few people will be surprised by my review, and a lot has already been written for me. But comrades in mind, how can you praise such wonderful shit when there are so many wonderful games around that surprise and delight us without any PR and cost ridiculous money. And Watch_Dogs is the hard fucking of the century. After that, all confidence in the «Wonderful» developers is lost. For comparison, run the game Murdered: Soul Suspect. Where from the first minutes you will be so drawn into a wonderful story and you will understand where the real game is. I say this for people who still have a brain and those who are still able to understand what is good and what is bad). There is no desire to even run it. Well, if only it becomes interesting who sucked whom once again. Yes, and a game with such a level pulls in the amount of 5 bucks, but not like in 21.99$. And how I feel sorry for those people who pre-ordered at a price of $59.99. Peace and tranquility to your soul). And please accept my condolences. You are the same suckers as me, who fell for the beautiful and wonderful moments promised to us in the game, where there is a continuous next gene everywhere). Ardent defenders of this wonderful game, do not engage in self-hypnosis, apparently you have not played GTA 5, which is a really high-quality product, and not this raw shit. Even GTA 4, a game from 6 years ago, is much better in everything. Watch the video below and compare. Therefore, stop jerking off and praising this shit and saying that I don’t understand anything, that this is the game of the century. Perhaps with your statements, you simply justify your investment in the creation of Ubisoft, no matter what it would be a shame for the money spent. Oddly enough, but on PS4, Watch_Dogs is much better and more enjoyable, if we talk about the technical component. And sorry for the mat, I’m a cultured person, but this is beyond my patience and education. My rating is 5. And only because, having closed my eyes, I stupidly pressed this key.

It’s been a long time since I wrote the first Watch_Dogs review. . One fine autumn evening, I felt sad and I decided to find out who sucked who once again. Launched a miracle game. Surprisingly, I was hooked by the story. Almost in the same breath, I enjoyed the excellent storyline and the idea of ​​​​the developers, but still spat on the technical component of the game. A bug on a bug, during this time almost nothing was even fixed. The verdict is harsh, but obvious and fair: — a wonderful atmosphere and plot component, excellent gameplay, and all this with a clumsy technical performance.
