Why Xbox 360 is better than PlayStation 4 and Xbox One — Offtopic on DTF
I am a proud PC boyar that also owns PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One.

If for some reason I don’t play on a computer, it’s too lazy to wait for downloading and installing games. I thought consoles would solve this problem. Well, Xbox 360 — yes, it does. The rest of the list has been fucking with Xbox One for 6 hours just to run one game.
In general, comparing Xbox 360 and Xbox One. I own both, and accordingly I have no byas.
The Xbox 360 wins for one simple reason: I can just pop in a disc and start playing, no clock settings. I don’t need to install games to play them, I don’t need to waste time, I don’t need to uninstall and re-install something, because there is not enough space. I can try out 5 games in 5 minutes. And it will be Skyrim (the game of 2022! and maybe 2023, and 2030, and 2050), GTA V, Mass Effect 3, Dishonored, Deus Ex Human Revolution — modern AAA projects (nothing came out better than them anyway at the time of 2022).
Same game — GTA V on Xbox 360 vs Xbox One.
On the Xbox 360, I just pop in the disc and just play, no hourly settings or long loading screens. No internet connection required. You can’t play it offline on Xbox One. It just turns into a brick without internet.
The game took over an hour to install on Xbox One, and after that it took some time to play, after which I turned off the console and went to cook dinner. Now, after frying a kebab, I sat down to play GTA on Xbox One only to see that the game wants to download 20GB of additional updates. Dear, I don’t fucking need your fucking online. I’m not a fan of masturbation and donation dumps. I just wanted to drive around the city before going to bed, I wanted to have a good time eating. Why are you forcing me to download these unnecessary updates for me personally?
I bought 5 copies of GTA. Rockstar Laucher, Steam, Free EGS, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
But I mostly play pirates and Xbox 360. Just because go fuck yourself with your launchers and updates. I just want to press a button and start the game, that’s it. No brainwashing and no expectations. And the Xbox 360 (and not only)))) gives it to me.
About the Xbox One setup experience
-Internet connection required when activating the console.
-Requires a microsoft account to activate and use
-After activation, updates are downloaded for an hour
-They create a «game profile» for you without asking.
I just bought a box for games, but for some dick they made me a profile on the Internet where by default you can see what and when I play, and all my actions are tracked. I just wanted this console to put discs in a magic box and have it show games. And everything is crazy. Not fucking online, I want to play at home, not on the Internet — not in a public place. I want to play disconnected from the network, relaxed and without surveillance. Like on PSOne, Sega Mega Drive II, Xbox 360. Where I’m not forced to do something I don’t want and everything is optional. DO NOT FORCE. Forcing is BAD. Especially on GAMING devices that are designed to entertain you.
Summary of Xbox 360 Pros:
-You don’t need to install games to play them. Why, by the way, there is the possibility of installing them is not clear, because you cannot install and simply select a game from the library and run it. No, you need a disk. And what the fuck is it to install then, if the disk is needed anyway?
-Games are cheaper than on PS3. Despite the fact that the ps3 lost the race of generations. Brand overpayment.
— No network connection required at all for any games
— All current, newest and latest AAA games are on the Xbox 360. It’s just that after 2013, AAA games stopped coming out, some kind of garbage went instead.
— Games from previous generations are launched.
The main advantages of Xbox One:
-Better graphics in games
-Gamepass — maybe it’s a plus for someone, but I prefer to own something than not to own and lose it as soon as I stop sending them monthly money over the mountain games that I’m not particularly interested in. I love buying games for the collection, but mostly for the Xbox 360 where it makes the most sense, because these games can be played straight from the disc. Well, on Xbox One, it’s faster to install a game than it is to download and then install.
-???
Cons of Xbox One
-You can’t play games without installation
-After installing you still need a disc to run games
-Does not support Xbox 360 discs. Officially writes that it supports something. I tested random AAA projects: Skyrim, GTA V, Wolfenstein. Fuck.
-Internet required to activate console
-Internet connection required for games that do not require internet on Xbox 360.
-Microsoft account required. On PS4 and Xbox 360, you don’t need to create an account.
— Mandatory creation of a public (existing on the Internet) game profile
Disadvantages of the PlayStation 4.
Bought in 2017, played it about 5 times during all this time. The reason is region-lock. You can’t play in Russian in Thailand. Or on any other than local + a couple of favorites. But on Xbox, you can. So the PS4 goes to hell right away. Discrimination of people on ethnic grounds — Sony interactive went to hell. Without the negative towards PSOne, a chic thing.
-The first three points from the minuses of Xbox One
-There is no equivalent analogue of the gamepass
-Used discs are more expensive than for Xbox One
Pros of the PlayStation 4
-No need to fuck with registrations
-In games that I played you can play without internet
-Exclusive. Well, to tell the truth, even when they leaked them to a PC, for me it’s all IMHO third-rate buckets for a narrow audience of Japanese console fans, so I didn’t spend time on PC except for Last of Us and Beyond Two Souls. Ilita plays years before the official release. Bought it on disc for PS4 in 2019, but there is no Russian on it because of our region — in the end, I did not spoil my impression. Discs from Russia will not work on our consoles.
3DNews Software News The long-awaited backward compatible games… The most interesting in the reviews
02/28/2018 [10:56], Evgeny Mirkin Xbox Lead Program Manager Bill Stillwell has announced a backward compatibility update. It introduced new accessible legacy games and features to Xbox One X.
Four Xbox 360 titles received improvements on Xbox One X, including The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Forza Horizon, Fable Anniversary, and Crackdown. They are also now available to run on the current generation of Microsoft consoles by simply inserting your existing disc into any of the Xbox One models and downloading the game from the Microsoft Store. If you have a digital copy, then it is already waiting in the library. Microsoft also announced the release of a new graphics setting to enhance Xbox 360 gaming on Xbox One X to give you more control over your gaming experience. Supported projects (listed below) run on a powerful console model with higher resolution and 9 times more native pixels. «The power of the Xbox One X allows the Xbox 360 emulator to showcase the best possible version of a game with existing assets without touching the game’s code,» writes Larry Hryb on his blog. Full list of Xbox 360 games that support enhancements on Xbox One X:
When you play one of these on Xbox One X, you will have a choice of graphics settings. The enhanced image will be enabled by default. The project will run at a higher resolution, at 9times more pixels, improved textures and anti-aliasing. If you disable this setting, the graphics will be comparable to the Xbox One or Xbox One S, but performance will increase. To change emulation settings, hold down the View and Menu buttons on your controller while playing to bring up the Xbox 360 Guide, then go to Settings and select Xbox One X Settings. You will have two options: graphics or performance. You will need to restart the game for the changes to take effect. In addition, Larry Hryb revealed that the Xbox community has spent more than 840 million hours playing backwards compatible games on Xbox One. The function is very important for Microsoft, developers and their projects, as well as fans of the platform. «Preserving the art form of video games is part of our DNA, which is why Xbox One is the only console designed to play the best creations of the past, present and future,» , writes Larry. |
