- As recent controversies over crunch in game development have made clear, making triple-A video games is complex and fraught with unexpected roadblocks and ever-shifting scope. Delays like this are common. Some excited players may be frustrated that they have to wait a little longer, but others will be happy to see a focus on quality or saner worker conditions for developers, whichever (if either) the case may be here.
Warcraft III was arguably one of the most influential games of the past 20 years because it birthed both World of Warcraft (which defined more than a decade of massively multiplayer online games) and, via community-made modifications, the MOBA genre (League of Legends, Dota 2, Blizzard’s own Heroes of the Storm), which in tandem with battle royale games, drove the esports and livestreaming revolution of the gaming industry.
It’s also a very well-polished real-time strategy game that includes many of the lore underpinnings for the popular Warcraft franchise and universe. The remaster overhauls the graphics, adds a new online matchmaking infrastructure, makes game balance changes and other modernizations, and more.
Warcraft III: Reforged costs $29.99 for its standard edition, or $39.99 for the «Spoils of War» edition that includes additional hero skins for the game, as well as other Warcraft III-related cosmetics in other Blizzard games like Overwatch and World of Warcraft. It is available exclusively as a digital download via Blizzard’s online software storefront.

Blizzard has announced a new Warcraft 3: Reforged release date, which is now on January 29, 2020. Initially set to release in 2019, Blizzard said in a blog post that while it had hoped to deliver the game this year, it needed a little extra development time to «honor the high standards you hold us to.» The post also revealed the global release times of Reforged in all of the different regions.

First announced at Blizzcon 2018 , Reforged is a full-scale remaster of the classic RTS Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos and the Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne expansion. Featuring seven single-player campaigns to work your way through over 60 missions, the remaster also includes updated matchmaking features using Battle.
net’s online service. Warcraft 3 follows in the footsteps of other Blizzard titles such as Starcraft that have also gotten a modernizing remaster. As a recreation of the original 2002 strategy game, «Reforged takes you back to a tumultuous time in Azeroth’s history, when a dark shadow eclipsed a peaceful land, the world trembled before the coming Burning Legion, and heroes risked it all to prevent the death of their world.»
To take Warcraft 3 «into the modern era,» Reforged has had a graphical overhaul, with modern graphical updates on the game’s characters, animations, structures, and effects. The audio has also been given some improvements, but will still feature the original voice-over recordings in order to keep the Warcraft 3 experience as authentic as possible. One neat feature also allows players to battle against each other across the original release and the Reforged re-release.
Blizzard also detailed the new rebuilt World Editor that will be coming to Warcraft 3: Reforged, complete with new triggers, LUA scripting support, and new model importing tools for the creator community to play around with.
Blizzard said it also plans to add more enhancements to the World Editor in the future. Currently, you can already pre-order Warcraft 3: Reforged from Blizzard’s store, where you can also pick up the rather packed Spoils of War Edition that will give you a variety of goodies for other Blizzard games, such as a Meat Wagon mount for World of Warcraft, a Mal’ganis pet for Diablo 3 , the Third War cardback for Hearthstone, and animated sprays and player icons for Overwatch .

Warcraft 3: Reforged is a real-time strategy game from Blizzard.
This is a remaster of the cult game Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and add-on Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. The gameplay from the original versions of the strategy will not change, but the new project will use updated graphics in Ultra HD, newly recorded sound and improved network support. The following innovations have already been officially confirmed in Warcraft 3 Reforged:
• Completely redesigned graphics;
• Updated interface and improved balance;
• Improved world editor, including new tools and utilities, as well as support for the Lua programming language;
• New translation and dubbing;
• Revamped cut-scenes in campaigns;
• Cross-platform: players will be able to play multiplayer between owners of the regular version of Warcraft 3 and the Reforged version;
• It will be possible to switch between the old graphics and the new one during the game; nine0003
• Full compatibility of cards from standard Warcraft 3 and Warcraft 3 Reforged;
• Reworked the landscape and structure of story maps to match the story of World Of Warcraft;
• All audio will be improved;
• Some male heroes will get a female version and vice versa.

Release date in Russia and worldwide
The remaster of the cult strategy was first announced at BlizzCon 2018, on November 2, 2018. The release of the game is scheduled for January 28, 2020.
The other day, Blizzard announced the imminent start of a multiplayer beta test of the strategy. To begin with, only Alliance and Horde will be available to users, and multiplayer modes will be limited to 1v1 and 2v2 maps, but in the coming weeks Blizzard will expand the game by adding undead armies and night elves to it. Test invitations will be sent out in waves, with preference given to players who have pre-ordered the Spoils of War Special Edition, which includes cosmetic items from other Blizzard games, as well as hero skins for four characters in Warcraft 3 Reforged. nine0003
