It’s official: Justin Bieber’s Baby is YouTube’s most ‘disliked’ video
Justin Bieber’s Baby – or Baby ft. Ludacris, to give it its official YouTube title – is officially the most ‘disliked’ video on the Google-owned website, according to the number crunchers at Guinness World Records.
Baby boasted 1,490,076 ‘dislikes’ as of Wednesday this week, though the video also holds the record for the most watched video online (575,118,703 YouTube views as of June 29).
It became the most watched promo on the video-sharing mecca last year, knocking Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance off the top spot .Rebecca Black had threatened to swipe Bieber’s ‘dislike’ crown with the notorious Friday (the video had 2,583,179 ‘dislikes’ at one point) but it was removed from YouTube following a dispute with record label Ark Music Factory.
The most ‘liked’ video on YouTube is currently Judson Laipply’s Evolution of Dance, which had 759,563 ‘likes’ as of Wednesday.
Featuring various styles of dance set to 32 different music tracks, the video is also among the most watched on YouTube with its 175,664,814 views to date.
Lil Wayne takes the top spot when it comes to record-breaking Facebook action, with his official page boasting the most ‘likes’ (668,198) on an item on Mark Zuckerberg’s social networking behemoth.
The rapper, real name Dewayne Michael Carter Jr, achieved the feat after a post made in February aimed to set the record for ‘Most likes on a Facebook item in 24 hours’, in response to an earlier attempt at the same record by cookie supremo Oreo.
The iconic biscuit brand held the record for just five hours before it was snatched away by Lil Wayne and his army of fans.
Meanwhile, Born This Way chanteuse Lady Gaga holds on to the record for most Twitter followers with her 11,259,372 little monsters.
The woman otherwise known as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta was first to break the 10million followers barrier on the site in May , leaving Justin Bieber in second place with his 10,646,695 followers.
Last year, she posted a typically kooky video on YouTube to thank her fans for making her queen of Twitter over previous title-holder Britney Spears.
Gaga’s official Facebook page also features in the top five most ‘likes’ overall (39.49m), though Eminem is just above her with his page’s 42.05m likes.
Guinness released its latest record-breakers to mark Social Media Day, happening around the globe today.
Other social media records unveiled for the occasion include Snoop Dogg collaborator Charlie Sheen’s Twitter feat of attracting a million followers in the shortest time.
He broke the record in 25 hours and 17 minutes during the first two days in March, when he dominated the microblogging site’s list of trending topics with unforgettable hashtags such as #winning and #tigerblood.
‘Social media records are some of the most asked about by our fans and readers,’ commented Dan Barrett, Guinness World Records community manager.
‘Along with the world’s tallest, smallest and heaviest, record fans want to know who has the most comments on Facebook, followers on Twitter, or views on YouTube.
