Wow pet leveln: Battle Pet leveling 1-25 Horde

Powerleveling Guide

The most effective way to level up pets (apart from using Training Stones) is fighting against trainers. The majority of those encounters grant 5x more experience than defeating wild pets.
Unfortunately a lot of those are limited to just one fight a day. Therefor we need trainers which we can challenge repeatedly to use them for ‘powerleveling’.

I want to list these here and also provide you with tips for this powerleveling.

1. Repeatable Trainers

1.1 Squirt

Since she is the most famous and best tamer for powerleveling she deserves her own topic. There are strategies enabling you do beat her in 70 seconds. On top of that right next to her is a NPC that can heal your pets after every fight for free. Unfortunately Squirt no longer grants experience to the player’s character.

You can find her every 15 days in the menagerie of your garrison. A level 1 menagerie will do but this requires a level 3 garrison beforehand. Building the menagerie will also reward you with a Ultimate Battle-Training Stone which can upgrade one pet directly to level 25.

Recommended strategy:
Ravenous Prideling + Widget the Departed
Fight duration: ~1:10
Fast, reliable and safe for level 1 pets.

Squirt dates in 2023:

1.2 Tamers from Legion

Some of the tamers from Legion (almost all of which you need for ‘Family Familiar’) can also be challenged multiple times and give 5x the experience (just like Squirt).
It’s worth looking out for their active world quests because only then they are available for fighting.
Unfortunately their appearance is decided randomly, so you can’t plan ahead when to challenge them.

Since those tamers don’t stand right next to a stablemaster you should bring enough Battle Pet Bandages with you.
But in return defeating these trainers also grants your character experience and that’s why especially the short fights have become a popular method for leveling.
Using heirloom gear and activating warmode you can get (depending on your level, you can do this as early as level 1) as much experience doing this as you would from finishing a quest.

Here follows a list of the respective tamers, together with a recommended strategy and sorted by their effectiveness in powerleveling:

Odrogg
World quest: Snail Fight!
Location: Highmountain
Recommended strategy:
Gorm Harrier + Kunchon Hatchling
Fight duration: 0:55
Fast, reliable and safe for level 1 pets

These fights rarely require bandages:
Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen
Fight duration: ~1:35
and
Teroclaw Hatchling
Fight duration: ~1:45

Sir Galveston
World quest: Fight Night: Sir Galveston
Location: Dalaran
Recommended strategy:
Court Scribe + Surger

Recommended strategy:
Gorm Rootstinger P/S + Crimson Spore
Fight duration: ~1:05
Fast, reliable and safe for level 1 pets

Tiffany Nelson
World quest: Fight Night: Tiffany Nelson
Location: Dalaran
Recommended strategy:
Rotten Little Helper + Squawkling S/S
Fight duration: ~1:10
Fast, reliable and safe for level 1 pets

Xorvasc
World quest: Dealing with Satyrs
Location: Val’sharah
Recommended strategy:
Shadowbarb Hatchling + Anomalus
Fight duration: ~1:15
Rare chance of failing, but fast and safe for level 1 pets

Rydyr or Andurs
World quest: Beasts of Burden
Location: Stormheim
Rydyr:
Recommended strategy:
Draenei Micro Defender + Any Pet with Explode
Fight duration: ~0:30
Andurs:
Recommended strategy:
Iron Starlette
Fight duration: ~0:40
Note: Only repeatable if you fight just one of them, so you have to choose which one you want to use for leveling.
Once you’ve completed this world quest you can’t challenge them again!
You get less experience from them then you would get from the other tamers listed here. In return these strategies are reliable and really fast.
Since these are short fights you’ll need more bandages (or more teams).

Amalia
World quest: Fight Night: Amalia
Location: Dalaran
Recommended strategy:
Ranishu Runt + Voidskimmer
Fight duration: ~1:25
Rare chance of failing, but fast and safe for level 1 pets
This fight rarely requires bandages!

Bodhi Sunwayver
World quest: Fight Night: Bodhi Sunwayver
Location: Dalaran
Recommended strategy:
Servant of Demidos + Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling
Fight duration: ~1:30
Fast, reliable and safe for level 1 pets

Grixis Tinypop
World quest: Tiny Poacher, Tiny Animals
Location: Highmountain
Recommended strategy:
Father Winter’s Helper + Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling
Fight duration: ~1:30

Mechanical Axebeak + Sprite Darter Hatchling

Reliable and safe for level 1 pets

Other possibilities

All the tamers listed have to be active to be usable for leveling the whole day. So what alternatives are there for days on which they aren’t available?

2.1 Noteworthy Tamers

As described at the beginning these trainers grant a lot more experience than wild pets.Therefor it is worthwhile to fight those who also give 5x the experience (just like Squirt), even though they are opposable just once the day.

Admittedly you have to count in a considerable amount of time for traveling. On the other hand you can get, besides the experience obviously, other useful rewards (even pets) and the daily quests grant a lot of experience to your character. The daily routes through Pandaria and Draenor are especially popular for this reason. Oftentimes characters are parked at Crysa and Environeer Bert, or even at the Darkmoon Faire whenever it is active.

2.

2 Wild Pets

Of course you could go to all the remaining tamers, but because of the ever decreasing experience you’ll reach a point at which the time for traveling isn’t worth the rewards (even character experience and other stuff) anymore. Also these remaining ones are fightable only once a day as well.

If you are still looking for a unrestricted way of leveling your pets the only option left is fighting wild pets. With the changes in 9.1.5, wild pets now offer double the experience as long as no pet on your team is more than two levels higher than any pet on the wild team.

In this situation it is clever to find a location in which are as many predictable pets of one family as possible so it becomes easy to create a team that can counter these pets the best.

Fastest Option in the Wilderness

The fastest alternative is fighting Icespine Hatchlings in Frostfire Ridge.
With the following team you’ll need just 30-60 seconds for one fight and your pets will barely lose health so they can used more often before needing to be healed.

*Rotten Little Helper (1,1,1)
*Feline Familiar(1,1,1)
*Level pet (should have 300-500 health)

vs. Icespine Hatchling
-Booby-Trapped Presents
-Greench’s Gift
-Club until enemy dies
vs. 2nd enemy
-Club until enemy dies
vs. 3rd enemy
-swap to level pet
-swap to Feline Familiar
-Stoneskin
-Onyx Bite until the enemy can be killed with Devour

Other noteworthy Locations and Pets

* Dancing Water Skimmer in Vale of Eternal Blossoms (~80% aquatics and ~20% fliers)
* Icespine Hatchling in Frostfire Ridge (~50% beasts, ~25% critters and ~25% fliers)
* Moonshell Crab in Shadowmoon Valley (Draenor) (~50% aquatics, ~30% fliers and 20% beasts)
* Critters in the Valley of the Four Winds (80% critters and 20% aquatics)
Especially the Marsh Fiddlers there are good for leveling level 1 pets since there is just a small chance for them dealing damage in the first turn.
* Dragonbone Hatchling in Dragonblight (~40% fliers, 30% critters and 30% aquatics)
Appropriate for leveling for the same reason. There also is a stablemaster nearby (at the temple) who makes the leveling more enjoyable.

Of course you can look for good locations yourselves. It’s all a matter of having the right pets to counter the wild ones.
As an example for fighting aquatic pets both Golden Dawnfeather and Pterrordax Hatchling are suitable and against critters every cat with Devour will do great.
The Feline Familiar is even effective against fliers and critters, has a strong protection and also a healing ability (Devour), which is the reason why it is popular for leveling in the wilderness.
To provide a safe space for your leveling pet, a Turkey (and their named variants) can make any non-critter target sleep with Food Coma. A Lifelike Mechanical Frostboar can use Decoy instead, and heal itself with Pig Out. Whether it should be slower or faster depends on whether you swap to a third pet or not, respectively.

3. Tips, tricks and hints

3.1 Increasing the Experience

Although most tamers already grant a lot of experience it can be useful to increase that even more. All of the following increases can stack:

Experience Increases

*Safari Hat: 10% more experience.
It’s a toy that can be used without cooldown. You get it as a reward for the achievement Taming the World.
*Lesser Pet Treat: 25% more experience for one hour.
Used on a pet as a target, but acts as a buff on you. Available at multiple pet vendors for 5 Polished Pet Charms.
*Pet Treat: 50% more experience for one hour.
Used on a pet as a target, but acts as a buff on you. Available at multiple pet vendors for 10 Polished Pet Charms.
*Darkmoon Top Hat: 10% more experience for one hour.
You can buy it from Gelvas Grimegate for 10 Prize Tickets while the Darkmoon Faire is active. The buff can run out while your character is logged out and it will also disappear when the Faire isn’t active anymore.

During the time of the Pet Battle Bonus Event you get a buff for 100% more pet experience! Look out for it in your calendar and prepare your teams.

3.2 Required Amount of Fights

Depending on the active experience increases you’ll need a different amount of fights to level a pet from level 1 to 25.

This list applies for every tamer which gives 5x experience (so for all the listed tamers in the guide with the exception of Andurs/Rydyr, Ashlei and of course the fights against wild pets):

  • Without any increases:

1st fight: 12
2nd fight: 18
3rd fight: 22

3 Addons

Especially in a powerleveling session when you are constantly repeating the same fights it is recommended to use a certain combination of addons. With those it is possible to execute an entire pet battle just by pressing one button.

First you need Rematch + TD-Scripts to get through the fights a lot easier.
How to install and use these addons is described here:
Guide: Using Rematch + TD-Script

Once you’ve got those two running you can add «UltraSquirt» to speed up and simplify healing your pets and restarting a fight.
The addon works for Squirt (including healing via the nearby NPC!) as well as for the repeatable trainer fights from legion.

Now all you have to do is press the space button (default setting) to level up your pets without ever having to press something else.
Since you have to push a button for every action it is not an automatic process and therefor doesn’t violate Blizzard’s ToS.

Good Luck!

Battle Pet leveling 1-25 Horde

Leveling your first pet team from 1-25 can be a grind, but dont worry. I’ve got your back! I have around 305 pets leveled to 25 atm, so I know a thing or two about it. This guide is intended to make your leveling from 1-25 as painless as possible. Its a comprehensive walk-thru including where to start, who to talk to, thier locations, and pet suggestions to defeat them. If your just starting out, please see the Add-ons section of the site to make it even faster! Once you hit 25, switch to the next Guide, «Speed Leveling 1-25» which assumes you already have 2 Gilnaen Ravens, or DMF Crows, and shows you the absolute fastest way to grind out level 25’s, not using any trainers or shortcuts.

A few things to remember: Unless the pet is lvl 25, the system will divide the XP equaly among the pets in the group. So if you want to get 2 up quickly, try techniques that allow you to use those 2 pets against teams of 2 or 3. Keep in mind as you battle you will come across other pets around the same level, and you want a diversity of these families, so catch a few to diversify your selection when it comes to battling trainers. If your having trouble in an area, check your collection and see if you have pets that are strong against the ones your currently fighting. If your leveling over a period of a few days, each day you can go back and re-fight the trainers form the day before to gain additonal XP, as you recieve alot of xp from trainer fights, and this strategy plays a key role at Higherlevels when your power leveling low pets quickly. Try to stay within 3 levels of each tamers pets. When you get battle stones, dont use them on pets you can find in the wild, instead use them on pets that can be traded. You can always hunt a rare version of wild pets, but most vendors only offer uncomon quality pets. As your working your way from area to area, be sure to stop and fight some of the pets you encounter to raise your levels.

Just starting out: Durotar 1-3

Varzok located at 52,59 in Orgrimar will begin your journey to being a Celestial Tournament Master. He will give you a series of quests that will require you to level a pet to 3, and open your second slot on your pet team. I recomend pets with beast and mechanical abilities. These pets will be strong against the pets your going to face.

Zunta is waiting for you with Mumtar and Spike. He is located at 43, 28 Tor’kren farm, Directly SE of Thunder Ridge. If you need to heal your pets, There is a stable master located in Razor Hill, Shoja’my 51,41.

Northern Barrens: 3-5

Dagra the Fierce, Thorn Hill 58,53 a waits you with Springtail, Longneck, and Ripper. Her pets are fairly strong, so you might want to get another pet to level. Dagra uses 3 pets, as do all the trainers from here on out. Dont worry about your third slot, you will unlock it once you have leveled a pet to 5.

Ashenvale : 4-7

As you make your way to Analynn, Located in Ashenvale 20,29. Her Pets are Flutterby, Mister Pinch, and Oozer. Be sure you engage the surrounding pets, you want at least 2 of them level 7. I recommed leveling those 2 first, then bring the third in to tie into the XP.

If you need to heal your pets, head over to Hellscream’s Reach, Silverwind Refuge or Splintertree Post.

Stonetalon Mountains 5-8

Southwest of Krom’gar Fortress Zonya the Sadist is ready for you. Her pets are Acidous, Constrictor, and Odoron. I recommend having at least 1 pet at 9, the rest around 8. You can find stable masters at Krom’gar Fortress and Sun Rock Retreat. Once Zonya is down, get moving to desolace.

Desolace 7-10

Merda Stronghoof is standing by with Ambershell, Bounder, and Rockhide. You should have two lvl 9 pets by now, although lvl 10 is best. Most of these trainers have plenty of pets surrounding them to battle and raise your pets levels. There is a stabl emaster near Merda, and also in shadowprey village. Once youve defeated her, its time to move towards the Southern Barrens.

Southern Barrens 9-12

Cassandra Kaboom is located at 40,80 her pets are Gismo, Cluckatron, and Whirls. There mechanical so you want to have some elemetals around levels 10-12. Once she is defeated you will be able to engage the next set of tamers on Kalimdor.

Feralas 11-13

Traitor Gluk is your first opponent. You can find him at 60,50 near Dire Maul. His pets are Glimmer, Prancer, and Rasp. You should have lvl 12-13 pets here. If you need to heal your pets you can find stable masters within Feathermoon Stronghold, Camp Mojache, and Camp Ataya. If your pets are around lvl 13 or so, its time to go to Thousand Needles.

Thousand Needles 13-15

Grim Totem is up next. Cho’guana, Indigon, and Plauge are fairly simple to beat. She is located at 32,33. Shes NW of Darkcloud Pinnacle and shouldnt give you too much trouble. Humanoid are stong defenders against Critter. You want one or two lvl 14 pets to make the fight easiest.

Dustwallow Marsh 12-15

Grazzle the Great is here in Dustwalow, and youll find Blaze, Firetooth, and Flameclaw to be no match for you. Humanoid attacks are strong against Dragonkin. Be sure to have at least two lvl 15 pets before leaving this area, as they will play apart in Felwood where were going next.

Felwood 14-16

Zoltan is pretty easy. His pets are Beamer, Hatewalker, and Ultramus. The magic pets should go down easily. Lvl 16 pets are ideal here, but 15’s should work as well. Your stable master is located insde Whisperwind Grove. You going to want at least two lvl 16 pets before venturing to Moonglade, so grind the local wildlife!

Moonglade 15-17

Elena Flutterfly is located at 46,61. She has Lacewing, Beacon, and Willow for pets. Start by grinding the area untill you have two level 17’s. After you defeat her, You should have earned the Taming Kalmidor Achievement. In doing so, you will be able to fight each of the tamers in daily quests to earn Reward Bags. After you have those two lvl 17 pets, we can safely move into Winterspring.

Winterspring 17-19

Stone Cold Trixxy is going to be the hardest trainer you will come across up to now. She has Blizzy, Frostmaw, and Tinygos on her team. The diversity in her pets and thier spells can be very daunting, so be sure you have two level 19’s and one 20 on your team, and you should defeat her easily. Once shes down, you will complete the Kalimdor achievement. Now you can battle these tamers in dailies also. I would recomend returning to grind them to gain a little Xp boost and start in on your Reward Bags.

Hellfire Peninsula 17-18

Nicki Tinytech is first up in Outlands. She’s located at 64,50. Her pets are ED-005, Goliath, and Sploder, so break out your elementals and lets get to work! If you need a stablemaster, They can be found in Honor Hold, and Thrallmar. Once you defeat her, stick around and grind two pets to lvl 20. They will help against the next master.

Zangermarsh 18-19

Ras’an is on the western side at 17,51. His pets are Fungor, Glitterfly, and Tripod. Your going to need to grind out the local wildlife untill you have two pets at lvl 20 before leaving to Nagrand. The only stablemaster out this far is located in Telredor, which is alliance.

Nagrand 18-20

Narrok is waiting for you at 61,49. His pets are Dramaticus, Prince Wart
, and Stompy. You will need two pets at lvl 20 and one at 21. Once hes down, head to Morulu The Elder, located at 59,69 Shattrath. His pets are Chomps, Cragmaw, and Gnasher. You should be able to defeat him with lvl 22 pets, however lvl 23 Flyers are definately the way to go here. This fight is an insight into powerleveling techniques in Pandaria.

Northrend and Beyond

Theres a few options you have from here on out. You can visit Northrend, and finish out your leveling, or you can go to Pandaria and start in the Jade Forest. Take a moment to look over the two guides: Northrend or Pandaria. Eventualy you will have to go to Pandaria to finish your achievements and unlock the Beasts of Fable 1 2 3 dailies and the Pandren Spirits. So I recomend going to Northrend and defeating the trainers there, and picking up some of the more exotic pets like the Scourged Whelpling. They are Nearly Headless Jacob, Gutretch, Beegle Blastfuse, Okrut Dragonwaste, and Major Payne. You should find them to be relatively easy. Once complete, make your way to Pandaria.

Power Leveling at 25

Once you have gotten one pet to level 25, there are a few things you can do. First, you can hit the Auction House and look into level 25 pets that you want to add to your collection without much work. You can also visit our Power Leveling section, for this you will want access to two lvl 25 Flyers, I suggest Raven or Crow, but any Moth will do also. Flyers that are strong against Aquatics are best. When you have your Flyers, go to our Speed Leveling 1-25 Section

A few tips for capturing pets:

  • You can catch a wild pet when its level is below 35%.

Argus Pets — Compilation | Game Guide, Legion, Battle Pets | WoW Manuals

Hi good! How is the raid on Argus coming along? Today we want to present you a selection of Argus’ pets, where to get them, from which NPCs and their abilities. Without further ado… nugu!

In this collection of battle pets, we will introduce you to all the pets that can be obtained on Argus, both domesticated and farmed. Some of the pets come out with a very low percentage, while others are simply a matter of capturing them at the highest quality possible. nine0003

Rebellious Imp

Starting with the first pet that can be looted on Argus, we have a Rebellious Imp. The way to get it is none other than to kill one of the NPCs that are in the Antoran Wasteland.

What are they rebelling against? The real question is what they are NOT rebelling against.

Mother Rosula This will be the one who drops this pet and can be found in the following location:

We remind you that these NPCs can be killed as many times as you want, but they will only drop loot once a day. If you’re unlucky enough to get it the first time, you’ll have to wait until the next day to get another chance. That’s how I’ve been with mounts for a few days now! As we posted in the previous image, you will be able to access the cave where this NPC is located from one of the bridges. It will be infested with demons, so you will have to clean up a bit before you arrive, mainly because one does not hurt, but thirty …

To kill this rare creature, you must kill imps and collect loot until you have 100 imp meat to create Abominable Feast. Simply place a feast in front of the Felpool where Rosula appears to summon her. Dealing with this rarity is very easy, you just have to be careful with the areas and the number of imps he starts to summon, with that you won’t have any problems.

This battle pet’s abilities are as follows:

  • Level 1: Quemar
  • Level 2: Sacrifice
  • Level 4: Portal
  • Level 10: Blazing Magic
  • Level 15: Flamethrower
  • Level 20: Abyssal Gate

The drop to get this pet is 7%.

Uuna

There is a truly disturbing story behind this «companion pet», although we cannot know it directly. Uuna is a ghostly little draenei girl who has no abilities that can be summoned through her. wrist. nine0003

One of many descendants was considered the loser in the battle for Argus, but eventually turned into an ur’zhul.

Uuna He has no skills and cannot fight, so he can only accompany us to the places of Azeroth. It can be obtained as loot from the Thousand Devourer which can be located in the following area:

Like the previous enemy, the Devourer will need to use a similar tactic, since it will need to be summoned by collecting the three previous objects. To collect these three items, you must first Devourer’s Call, which can be obtained as loot from Antoran Defender at 15% or Tormented Ritualist at 3%. nine0003

By collecting this object, you will be able to see the objects in the locations that we will place below:

  • Ur’zul Bone ( 50.4 / 56.1) in front of the altar.

  • Imp Bone ( 65. 6 / 26.3) inside the cave of demons.

  • Malignant bone ( 52.4 / 35.3) in front of one of the pillars in this area.

After gathering, we will go to an area where we can summon the boss (at the point located on the previous map). Fighting this rarity is nothing special, just smash his bunch of creepy heads with your sword (not a mechanic, huh?). nine0003

This companion pet has a 6% acquisition rate. How cruel to say it’s a pet…

Confusing Manifestation

And finally, as one of the pets that farmers don’t need an external mechanic to summon rares, we have a la Confusing Manifestation as one of the dark, tentacle-shaped manifestations of the void.

Reaching out from some vast corner of the void… to embrace you.

This pet can be obtained from Ataxon, a rarity found in Mac’Aree. We have placed the location and model in the following image:

As we said earlier, the rarity will spawn at the point we have placed for you and no external mechanics will be required to summon it. As in the previous ones, you can collect loot once a day.

Confusing Manifestation’s powers are:

  • Level 1: Tentacle Slap
  • Level 2: Grab
  • Level 4: Terrible Dementia
  • Level 10: Tentacle Strike
