Method clear Mythic Uldir with world-first G’huun kill in World of Warcraft

Posted on by Dom Sacco

UK esports organisation Method have secured a world-first kill of G’huun on Mythic difficulty.
This means they are the first to clear 8/8 bosses in the Uldir raid scenario in World of Warcraft (WoW) expansion Battle for Azeroth.
The org secured the kill this evening, after a very close attempt yesterday (September 18th), where they brought G’huun down to 4% health.
Method – whose raid team is Horde and based on EU server Tarren Mill – wiped a whopping 285 times on G’huun overall before taking the boss down. You can see the number of wipes they made on other bosses in this tweet here.
The clip below shows the moment when Method downed G’huun:

It’s great news for the popularity of competitive World of Warcraft, which has seen an upturn lately following the release of Battle for Azeroth.
Method founder and co-owner Scott McMillan’s stream (pictured, and above) had almost 100,000 viewers yesterday, while Method’s org channel had almost 30,000 views, making World of Warcraft the most-viewed game on Twitch at that time.
During the kill today, Scott had around 170,000 viewers and the main stream had around 40,000, meaning more than 200,000 were watching overall.
Method were streaming from the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London, which opened its doors earlier this year.

We are #1 and #2 channels on @Twitch! .@Warcraft also sitting pretty as the #1 most watched game!

Will we see G’huun die today?? Find out: https://t.co/at0ni74DqO pic.twitter.com/j1kbTZfCoD

Raid Uldir in Battle for Azeroth Loot Overview

By dexwow Views 444 Published

Uldir is the first raid in Battle for Azeroth, in which players will have to fight 8 bosses. In this guide, we looked at the drops from these bosses, bonus rolls, as well as other useful information.

Uldir Release Dates:

  • September 5 — Normal and Heroic
  • September 12 — Mythic and Raid Finder Quarter 1 (LFR), Taloc, Zek’voz and MOTHER 9 bosses will be available0013 Bonus rolls
  • More guides
  • Equipment

Item level fixed for each difficulty level:

    • Raid Finder – 340
    • Normal difficulty level — 355
    • Heroic Difficulty — 370
    • Mythic — 385

Whenever you get a new item, there is a small chance that it will level up by 5-15. If the item’s level is increased by 5 or 10, then «Forged in Battle» will be added to its name. In the case when the level rises by 15 units or more — «Tempered by the Titans». Thus, the maximum item level available in the game after the release of the raid is 400 (Mythic difficulty + Titanforged).

    This system also has limitations:

    • Weapons in Battle for Azeroth can only be Battle Forged (+5 or 10 levels)
    • Azerite armor cannot be Tempered at all — it can be upgraded in other ways

    Tier gear and transmog

Uldir will be the first raid in WoW history that won’t drop a new armor tier, the developers said in an interview. Instead, transmog gear has been added to the game that is not class-specific, but is made in the style of Uldir.

Standard transmog armor contains metallic elements, and weapons glow in various colors. On Mythic+ difficulty, the armor looks a little different, with new, unique details in the design.

The weapon of Khor, the Hammer of the Guardian, is worth noting, which is essentially a transmogrified version of Khor, the Hammer of Corruption. The weapon is made in the style of the boss Taloc.

    Azerite Armor

Helmets, shoulder pads, and chest armor from the Azerite armor set interact with the Heart of Azeroth, providing players with certain enhancements: enhanced spells, new buffs, abilities that damage or heal allies, etc.

All these upgrades are divided into 3 circles:

    • Circle 1: upgrades related to location or specialization. They are available as soon as the player obtains the Azerite Armor.
    • 2 circle: binding to the role of the character. Circle 2 is only available on level 340+ Azerite armor. However, there are other circles on armor below level 340, only the second one is missing.
    • 3rd circle: defensive/combat abilities.
    • Center: The only thing that can be done at this stage is strengthening the armor with Azerite, which increases its level by 5 points. Increasing the level of the item, respectively, enhances the abilities chosen in the previous circles.

Below is a table of Azerite armor drops from Uldir bosses:

World of Warcraft: the first season of Battle for Azeroth has begun

The first season of Battle for Azeroth has begun in World of Warcraft. The last part of the launch wave of content for the new expansion has opened up to players — the Uldir raid, Mythic+ dungeons, competitive PvP, local bosses, and Warfronts.

On the US servers, the launch of the season was not uneventful: due to a bug, players were re-credited with feats from the Legion era, as a result of which many were prematurely granted access to very high level rewards. By the time the season was launched on the European servers, all the most serious problems had been fixed, and all the undeserved rewards for the Americans were rolled back.

    Official Blizzard Quote (Source)

There are many new challenges awaiting players on Azeroth, but where would you like to start?

    IN THE HEART OF ULDIR

The Uldir raid dungeon is open on Normal and Heroic difficulty.

Many thousands of years ago, the titans, wishing to understand the nature of their eternal enemy, built a huge underground complex, where they kept and studied the captured samples. They believed that by learning more about the energy of the void that feeds the Old Gods, about its weaknesses and vulnerabilities, they will be able to counteract it. It didn’t take long for them to realize how wrong they were. They had to seal the complex so that the nightmares lurking inside would never enter Azeroth. But now the seals have been broken…

    Bosses in the raid: 8
Mines: ordinary, heroic, epeocal, search system
    Level: 120th

September 5: Opening the Ulder raid in ordinary and heroic mode.
September 12: Mythic Uldir raid and Halls of Containment Wing 1 (boss: Talok; MOTHER; Zek’voz, Herald of N’Zoth) in Raid Finder.
Sep 26: 2nd wing called «Scarlet Descent» (bosses: Fetid Devourer; Vectis; Zul the Ascended) opened in the raid finder.
Oct 10: Opening of the 3rd wing called «Heart of Corruption» (bosses: Mythrax the Unraveler; G’huun) in the raid finder.

    NEW LOCAL BOSSES ARRIVED!

Many of Azeroth’s worst troublemakers are imprisoned in ancient dungeons or hiding behind high walls, while others can be found out in the open. The sane inhabitants of this world, driven by the instinct of self-preservation, try to stay away from such monsters, but the brave heroes who decide to measure their strength with these most dangerous opponents are waiting for unfading glory.

Six new world bosses have appeared in Zandalar and Kul Tiras.

T’zain (Nazmir): The insatiable T’zain, revived by the powerful voodoo of the nearby Necropolis, roams the swamps of Nazmir in search of new souls.

J’arak (Zuldazar): This powerful female Pterrordax nests in the mountains of Zuldazar, where the air is so thin it’s hard to breathe. Occasionally, she descends to the swamps for prey for her chicks.

Hail Golem (Drustvar): The natives of Drustvar designed a hail creature to protect their lands from invaders. However, years of inactivity were not in vain, and now it considers all inhabitants indiscriminately as enemies.

Lazurethos, Winged Typhoon (Kul Tiras (but where?)): Lazurethos, the storm of the Kul Tiran seas, commands the winds and unleashes them on those who encroach on his nest, causing waterspouts and capsizing ships. He has earned a reputation as one of the most dangerous creatures in Kul Tiras.

Warbringer Yenage (Storm Valley): Dark rumors are spreading in Storm Valley. Rumor has it that supernatural creatures have bred in the area, and the villagers mark the doors of their houses with special runes obtained from local scribes. It may turn out that these village tales are not so far from the truth and terrible creatures really roam the edge, hiding from our eyes.

Dune Eater Kraulok (Vol’dun): All trolls, and especially the Zandalari, revere the bones of the huge reptiles that the Zandalari are so rich in. However, dark forces in the depths of the sands sometimes awaken what should have remained dead. Kraulok roams the sands again, blinded by the fury and agony of his final moments. And woe to those who get in his way.

Defeating Warbringer Yenaj, T’zayn, Dune Eater Crowloc, Hail Golem, J’arak and Lazurethos will earn the achievement «Unruly Monsters» .
